good question.

the thing most people love about the scottish accent is how they do the "r". it just sounds...awesome. i honestly couldn't tell you why australian accent is so popular. in austria, the most popular accent is irish anyway x3

however, i think in austria it's because they are like...different, these accents. in school, all we ever here is northen american and english accent, that's it. so, naturally, we love everything that's different to that, i'd say.

i think its cuz alot of other accents can get harsh, or they can sound rambly and grumpy...with scottish and austrailian i think they sound cheerful almost naturally ;) even thought scottish pawns

I believe it's because they're so distinct out of all the English spoken accents. They way Scottish and Australians pronounce words are so bizarre, yet unique - that makes them so popular. An accent that is so uncommon to the western culture.

For me it's this strange feeling of certain accent being "noble". I wouldn't say Australian is highest on my hotness scale, but Scottish and Irish are definitely way, way up there. :) And they sound "just right" to me. Perhaps it's because of Sean Connery in 007, who knows. ;] I just dig them for this "better than others" feel.
