The time that I beat him,I had a phys mirror on Yukiko and the mofo slapped himself.Phys attacks with Personas seem to have a bigger critical chance,as I got a few with Yosuke(got him dizzy).Advice: use the super sonic and go for critical hits.he got luckyI didn't summon a lv 80 and smash him with it.
This boss' Rampage skill is a cowardly tactic. I beat it in my first playthrough out of sheer luck. In my second gameplay, I whopped his ass with level 90 Yoshitsune, just out of spite, lol. I was so shocked to see him be killed in one turn.

All Personas from your Compendium are available in the next cycles. And yes, after this maddening boss, all the others after it are piece of cake, at least in comparison. And the bad thing about coming back to defeat it when you're level is very high is that you don't get as much experience. ¬¬ Everything about this boss is frustrating, to say the least.
Haha, I actually heard that alot of people struggled with Yukiko but I actually though it was pretty simple. Im actually so glad I got this game for christmas I can't believe it sliped my radar back in the ps2 days.

Its true that this boss fight is 100% luck based if you enter at a lower level... Took me hours to down him (I was too stubborn to leave and come back). I just used the MC to debuff him (tarunda, sukunda, rakunda) and kept Chie and Yosuke on the offensive. Eventually I got lucky where he didn't use rampage till the VERY END (I'm talkin <100 hp left) which broke my heart and spirit... but was regained after I had noticed rampage MISSED everyone! Sukunda rules for this luck based fight.

I never got omoikane so I didn't have tarunda. at lvl 17, he 1 shotted my mc with rampage even w/ eligor, if he gets a 2x hit. He wiped me once when he had >10% and I had previously survived 3 rampages. that pissed me off. The next time, he crit my MC, marakundaed the party, but I got a crit w/ sonic punch, and chie offered her...services...I didn't think it would do anything, but galactic punt insta killed him!
Just kill him having advanced more in the game,not soon as killed Yukiko's Shadow.I beaten him during the bath house,before rescuing kanji,without problems.
I'm on expert and this boss is impossible. Like really, it's bs.
My MC was using Eligor (that has PHYSICAL RESISTANCE) and was blocking and had dekaja buff AND the King had the tarunda debuff and I STILL died from Rampage.
it uses rampage quite early in the fight on me all the timee. what kind of lvl do you need to be to be some sort of match to him? i have this set up. MC uses rakunda from izanagi and next turn switches over to jack frost and use ice boost and bufu. yosuke uses sonic punch, chie bufu, yukiko uses media. but the dam thing uses rampage. cheap whore!

DarkerGrey, I just managed to beat him with my party at level 16. Just keep him under the effects of sukunda and rakunda while having yukiko spam media, chie spam bufu, and yosuke spamming sonic punch. For my MC I used double fangs with titan when not using sukunda or rakunda.
I am going to go ahead and say this is only doable at this level if the boss doesn't use Rampage. With enough resets, knock downs, lucky dodges, and save reloads... it's certainly doable.
When I beat him he used rampage on me twice, but since I had lowered his hit rate the first rampage only hit one of my party and the second one only hit two, neither time killing the main character, so I just revived them and kept at it.
I'm not sure, all I know is I tried once to keep much of my part on guard status and even with guard on rampage still one shotted them. I've gotten him down to low health a few times, but inevitably rampage gets me eventually.
I don't think so. I know that if you lower his hit rate he has a lower chance of hitting with it, so I imagine you could also try to buff your own party to raise evasion, and equip falcon eyes. The problem with this though is that the more turns you spend buffing and debuffing, the less damage you're doing, which in turns leads to a longer battle, and the longer the fight the more likely he is to use rampage.
I've been fairly successful by using two debuffs, I think they were sukunda and dekunda, but the effect was to lower his hit/evasion rate and lower his defense. This seemed to give me more crits, which meant more all out attacks, which meant a shorter battle. I just haven't been lucky yet, but I gave up and pursued the storyline more. I plan to come back to beat this boss when I get some better personas and up my level to 20 or so.
Uh, where you doing this on easy? I'm doing this on normal and this boss uses rampage fairly often, sometimes even on the first turn. If it weren't for the fact that he sometimes randomly one shots my entire party this boss wouldn't be difficult at all. Anyone have tricks for beating him?

Here is the trick to beating him thump it up if you want to idc but this is how i ended up beating him level 17 on expert
Save Fight if he uses rampage try again
may take awhile but it works :)
