DMV must asking or required a Legal Immigration status to all applicants like Green Card, Work Permit or Citizenship...
Police & Sheriff must checking and verify a valid US Driver License to all drivers in the US. NO US Driver license, NO DRIVE!! or you go to jail and be deported!!
That was a sarcastic comment lol there is no solution n yes it's going to get worse cuz if ppl think that they can protest against the law (that the world has adopted not just America) then whats next? It's going to be an open border for all illegals to cross cuz what just happened is that the Court just told them that its ok to come as illegals. I myself went through the process to become a legal citizen n it wasn't even hard.
I live in Arizona and support my state and its decisions and laws....you don't like it then don't come here.....As for Boycotting Arizona go ahead we will survive
Don't worry Bilbray, soon its gonna be us americans trying to cross borders the way things are going. Better treat immigrants how you would like to be treated in you and all of your family is out of ajob and without food on your table God forbid.
This country IS a country of immigrants. We go through this every time a wave of immigrants comes in. It just so happens that THESE particular immigrants are from South America. Not Germany,Poland,Ireland,Russia,Japan, Canada...
This is just a phase this country goes thru every once in a while.
@unclesamurai no, actually it's because they break the law and enter the US illegally! If they wanna go about the proper procedures to live here, step 1 is to apply for citizenship/greencard/work visas, not sneak across the border like common criminals! All the people from those other countries have to do that...why should hispanics feel they should get special treatment? They don't deserve it, and won't get it!
@saorsa64 it's probably because they are desperate. I agree with the proper step aspect fully. It would be nice if that was how it was. But they are looking at our history too. And this country, especially this side of the country was strong armed into ownership. THEN the laws were made subsequently. Which must give them reason to try try the same thing, right. It's wrong though, I agree. Wish there was a better way to control the border. Especially in that heat
@unclesamurai I understand they look back at our history, but that's the key...it's not the 1700's, it's 2010, and education has come along way to where it's hard for me to believe they break the law unknowingly. and the other diff is, we fought for our country, can they not do the same for their country? Seems to me all they want to do is take the easy way out instead of fighting for their rights and changing their country!
@unclesamurai And lastly, when this country was flooded with immigrants in the past, why wasn't it mandatory to learn those languages? These days my kids are being forced by the schools to learn spanish...sorry, but that won't happen! We speak english here, not spanish!
@saorsa64 The "Us" and "We" must be redefined all the time, eh? Note that I aint really arguing here, with ya. I agree with you. The only part that is rough on the mind is the good people get mixed up with the bad and become innocent casualties of racial profiling. Mexican people have such rich culture and music. It's part of our own heritage in America. But history keeps repeating itself in every culture, politically, every day...
@unclesamurai no arguement here from me, just discussing. The good people you mention, are you referring to good illegals? Let's do this: you legally apply for citizenship, you wait in line for your papers, but some illegal breaks the law and gets here before you. They live FREE off the system, while you wait to do it legal,is that right? They receive free health care, pay no taxes, steal jobs from legal citizens, recieve a FREE education that are paid by the tax dollars of legal people!
@saorsa64 Yeah I'm sure. Even illegal immigrants are good people. That's what any pastor would say. The italian, Irish, Polish, German, etc... Your point, however is totally valid and true, regardless of the fact that they are good or not. America is where I was born. I had no choice. And I am in love with my country. I think it's big enough for more culture. It would be great if uneducated poor people were smart and could afford a proper way in. But this is border patrol war now...no rules...
@unclesamurai I'm sure there are good illegals who can't afford it, and it is a shame that they suffer because they are poor while richer bad legals can. It is sad, but right now our economy really can't afford to take anymore immigrants, from anywhere. We need to fix our economy before we can help anyone from any other country, otherwise, we ALL will suffer even more than some are now! If that happens, we can't even help those wanting to be legal!
Wouldn't it be a great day for immigrants to come over and boost the economy out of a pitfall? I irony is amazing: we build our country with slaves that were brought over. And we struggle with those who actually want to come over here voluntarily. Somewhere between those two things, there has got to be compromise..it's going to take a colletive of great thinkers and doers to sort this out in our life time...I'm down for that solution.
Here's a solution. Y dont we do what the world do (even Mexico) n make people go through the proper procedure to be legalized or else be deported. Oh right, that is an American Law too.
SB 1070 is very good to protect the US.
