I have a top of the line 97 accord, it was shipped over from japan, its oddley faster than every honda ive raced. The dash says 140 bt ive burried the needle at 140 and felt it still picking up. Its a 5-speed stick, i put a few mods in it and its never ever lost. Can someone explain to me why its unnaturally strong?

I have a '97 Accord 5 speed with the F22 2.2L. I really couldn't love the car more. It handles everything you want it to quite well. Great mileage, great handling, reliable, and great looking... whats not to like? The car will go for 200k+ miles. I think its a great first car, lab110.

i thought about that but the B16 5th gear is too short man doing 70mi would be @ 4K rpm atleast. I wanted to go with LS tranny that has a longer gears good for boost. but first i want to try all motor then maybe take out the the tranny and put LS 5th gear into it if i want the boost.

Yes its a 2.2 F22B2 Sohc Non Vtec. They are pretty good for boosting! And Accord never made 1.8liter engines!

what are you talking about you want a wide stance, less likely of roll over in a fast turn and better weight distribution, yeah there heavy ass hell, but we make up for it with the v6. And not all 6th gens are automatic, yeah with a manual you may get off the line first but in the end an automatic will still shift better and hit top speed faster.

First start with the Exhaust headers and full racing Exhaust (not just a fart can) And a Cold air intake AEM. Then NGK Spark plugs! TEIN Suspension. But since you got over 200K miles u might want to take the engine out and replace put new pistons and rods and the would be better if u put a new Crankshaft too. Then find an H22 head and put that on your block! Im assuming you have and F22 engine so if u already have the H22a then never mind! And swap your Transmission to Manual and you will rock!

I just bought a 97 honda accord for $2,700 and it's in almost perfect condition. Only 120,000 miles too! The only thing I hate about it is that it's Automatic transmission =/

But the price was too good to let it go.

I have a 1997 5spd accord with 245,000 miles on it. I only had to replace the radiator. I bought it brand new in Dec. 1996 and it still has the original clutch!
