@bazzguy1 : Around 1965, I'd say, give or take a year. It took Cliff a year or two after the Beatles broke through (which was in '63) to finally abandon his original pompadour hairstyle as he has here.
Interesting story about how I know this song. I got it secondhand at an antique mall a few years ago for 75 cents. It's my only piece of imported British rock!
I went to the reunion concert at Hope Estate, Pokolbin Feb 2010, and the show was so fantastic. Cliff was amazing and The Shadows were brilliant. It was worth every dollar. Such a shame they won't be back. Loved it!
Wonderful, raw black & white footage! Two weeks ago I attended the Cliff Richard and Shadows re-union tour in Australia. The sound was remarkable and after all this time, Cliff and the Shadows still have what it takes, they haven't lost their touch and didn't miss a beat.
@frendo21 If Jacko came pimping onto the stage after this and did Smooth Criminal, the release of fuck energy in the crowd would have shaken Earth from the Sun's gravitational pull. FACT!
A really underated song. Good cover by The Farmer's Boys in the 1980s, but this is the definitive version of a Shadows-written song, I think this could have got to number 1
One of my fav Cliff songs.. thanks for posting this...Apparently this was the final song of the concert and the director wanted to show how much the audience was enjoying the show.
what year was this?
