  • Holy shit that was fun

  • repeated it 4 times, but gotta go to bed know, see ya tomorrow! :D

  • When do you wanna' use a Major Pentatonic scale instead of the usual Minor Pentatonic scale?

  • @zoslowhand: On the I chord, A7, which is the first chord played and the tonal center of this track, you can use a major 3rd of an A major scale. On the V chord, which is E7 in this case and the last chord you hear before the track loops over again, you can use both the major 7th and the major 3rd of an A major scale. So try replacing C (5th fret 3rd string) with C# (one fret up) when you hear A7. Then play C# as well as replacing G (5th fret 4th string) with G# (one fret up) when you hear E7.

  • @jacksonlenhartmusic

this didn't make much sense to me???

I found that both minor and major pentatonic worked for me, including the extensions.

  • one word ..... exellent !

  • Rober Johnson R.I.P

    Thanks for the Blues

  • thanks a lot, the only way to improve is jamming!! thanks, this was really fun.

  • I didn't realize how much fun blues were to play. I use the pentatonic scale when I do rock, but I never tried it with blues. Gives a great sound combination.

  • Great track, great fun!

  • This is some fun shit man

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS i got my blues chops from this>:D gives me the tasty feel. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS and this is why youtube was made

  • this is geat! if bin playing over this song all night!

    Thanx man!

  • amazing bt. thank you!

  • hahahaah i just jammed out to it in Aminor pentatonic. This backing track is awesome. Fits in for acoustic perfectly

  • I really like this one, I've been soloing on this for about 2 hours

  • Backing tracks are the the most useful thing to come from YouTube, and, dare I say, even the entire internet!! :) My pentatonic skills, which were dormant for years and stuck in the first position have bloomed, it is now second nature to fly through all 5 and I have improved my phrasing 100%. Thanks to all you guys who take the time to create and post these valuable videos.

  • @laughingboy0068 Right On!!

  • Dude, if you come to Chicago, I want to buy you some beers at B.L.U.E.S. These jams are sooooo cool!

  • @joem773 You live in chicago?! Lucky bastard

  • yeah man! JAm rules!

  • shiit where can i find a guitar only track so i can play drums to

  • This track is so much fun to jam. It get me blues into the blood, love it.

  • thanks

  • What is the exact chord progression here?

  • ill be honest. i have played metal guitar for almost a year and a half. but when i played this i was so hyptonized by the beautiful blues im tempted to give up my band and pursue this. it is like singing to my soul

  • @roadwarrior421 I kinda feel the same, like metal is good but this...

  • thanks for the backing track!

  • Ok why doesn't some tell me strings and frets that go well with jamming along with this :) Lol @cause I really don't know notes etc...

I just jammed with the e and b string on the 8th and 10th frets and it worked well. And was incredibly fun :P So what else works for some solo jamming?

  • Low E- 5th, 8th, and 10th

    A string- 5th, 7th, and 10th

    D string- 5th, 7th, and 10th

    G string- 5th,7th, and 9th

    B string- 5th, 8th and 10th

    E string- 5th, 8th and 10th

    Those will get ya started!

  • Thankyou! Thantas what I was loking for! Cheers ;)

  • @kashguitar

Thats not truth, you have one note wrong it's the B string- 5th, 7th and 10 Not 8th but 7th..

    But the rest was right.

  • @wipsii The 8th fret (G) is in the minor pentatonic, which is the scale he wrote out. The 7th fret (F#) is the 6th of the chord, and makes it the major pentatonic. Both notes work, but since he was writing out the minor pentatonic, he was right.

  • Hi i enjoyed your backing tracks. Please advise on how i could get some more. I like the Blues Music. If you do any Old Rock and Roll i would be interested in that also. Thank you George

  • I wouldn't call this acoustic

  • harpin it up lol

  • Do you have backing tracks without the bass so a bass player could play along?

  • I loved this one! Thank you!

  • Thx soooooo much! havent had a decent backbeat to jammm w/ for a year!!

  • this song follows that 12 bar pattern, it just starts on the E in the ninth measure.

  • the one

  • who needs tv or cell phoens or sex to have a good time when you can jam to these all day?!?!?

  • well you dont need tvs you dont need cell phones but sex should be part of the game

  • haha well you know what i mean

  • hahah... but then again there´ll be those woman gonna make you have the blues

  • 'zactly.

  • its not dm. in fact that E can be an E7 aswell and it adds some more flavor. theyre all majors otherwise

  • when the blues is in A the next ecords gonna be D AND E ? OR dm E :S:S:S

  • if it's a true 12 bar blues prog, it should be AAAADDAAEDAA

  • isnt a typical 12-bar blues in A

    ADAA DDAA EDAA?

  • That is one of many variations, substituting IV in the second measure for I.

  • You're almost there, it's ADAA DDAA EDAE. And it starts with this intro EDAA, this is called taking it from the five, as E is the IV chord here, good jamming!

  • which is best to improv this with? Am pentatonic or A blues scale?

  • there the same thing but the blues scale adds like, 1 note lol. try it out for yourself, I use a minor pentatonic

  • The Blues scale is, in effect, a minor pentatonic scale with added notes. So you could use either. but always use your ear as the judge.

  • the scales are only one note apart, just through in the blues note in a phrase if you feel like it. Unless you meant A major pentatonic...

  • its sad, but alot of people rely on the pentatonic scale to play lead, which isnt a bad thing if you like that sort of thing, but i think everyone ends up sounding the same. although i do use the minor pentatonic scale as my reference point, dont forget, your actually playing in A major, not minor. so although the A minor pentatonic works, you can also add a different sound by play in A major, rather than A minor. if you dont know how to play the A major scale, think of it as F# minor pentatonis

  • use the blues scale, the added note (i call it the blue note) is very badass! but be carefull, use this only as a "passage" note, if you stop on it it'll sound creepy :P

    hope ive helped ;)

  • which pentatonic do you play on a???

  • A...

  • the a pentatonic.....

  • its the fifth fred.

  • This never gets old!!

  • very cool song for impro !

    I like that !!!

  • thanks man for the fun!

  • Thanks

  • @Aerodus It's like your soul jumps on the strings ;) ;) :))

  • @Sebastian02iulie Damn right it does! :)

  • @Aerodus i'm a metalhead and i love jamming to this and i think that i'm not alone

  • @Aerodus IM A HARDCORE METALHEAD \m/ JAM ON GUYS!!!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!!

  • i was told by a guy that played the harp. but he mostly plays guitar. You do need a guitar for this though. but if say the song is in G then look on your guitar on the( 6th string E string) at the 3rd fret is your G note The note Below on the 5th string is a C thats what harp you want a Key of C harp

and the same for A on the 6th String the note below it on the 5th string is the D so a D harp would work and so on...Thats just a basic guide. im sure theres other ways but that's one

  • Just play it with an A harmonica?

  • All right i am pretty confused. Half the things i read has cross harp played in D and other half in E. Any help?

  • Yeah, i'll agree with wahwahwakka, good tune to jam with a D harp. thanks.

  • Wtf is wahwakaka etc

  • you're talking Blues Harp, right? Harmonica? Not those giant many-stringed orchestral instruments right?

  • Thanks, man. It was fun figurin' out leads to this track.

  • meh video isnt that bad...when compared to mine ...lol

  • The video response is just laughable lol.

  • this 1 video response sux.. no offence..but i wanna see some good guys play along to this ...i would post one (not that im that good) but i dont have a camera

  • man this kicks asss! its like the ultimate backing track! and so are your other ones... so hard to pick which to use next!!! you should have some other genres up though, metal jazz rock and one i really want: FUNK!! no oen ever has a funk backin track

  • This guy has all those genres :P. It might take a while searching for them!!!

  • thanks to everyone for the cool comments.keep playing

  • @backingmusic do you have any other in this tempo but in a different key?

  • @backingmusic simply great playng my Special 20 with this on thanks!!

  • i have played along to this a good 13 times now.. LOVE IT!

  • 13? LoL - I have played to it 1300 times. Ha! Seriously - it is a great piece to play to and work with. Keep it up!

  • I have always been a metal player and I have been in the mo0d to learn new styles and blues has always been the base for what I do, so lately I have been stripping it back to the basics and this is by far the best track to jam to so far.

    Thanks!
