@MegamanvolnutX because CDs can take in more capacity, thats why they are better visuals than cartridge, but other than that i totally agree with you, just blow on the cartridge works every time, and if your system too dusty just open from top and blow and it'll work, unlike today's consoles you can even clean them without using tools!

Here's my story: My brawl didn't work so I just decided to stop playing it because I knew it was the lens; the disk was flawless. Then for my birthday this year (which was on the 8th, btw) I got Metroid Prime: Trilogy not realizing it was a dual-layer disk too. I was so angry. So I got the cleaner kit. At first it looked odd, but when I put it in my wii, it wiped the lens and when I took it out, there was a BIG ASS stain on the cloth! XD

Then Brawl and Trilogy worked perfectly for me. :D

Just send it in to Nintendo. I did, it only took 3 1/2 days from the moment I shipped it to the moment the UPS guys knocked on my door. Nintendo did not just "clean it", they REPLACED THE DRIVE. So is almost like having a new console. ;-)

they sell wii lens cleaners now in gamestop, you put the disc-shaped cloth thingy or whatever it is and put it in the disc slot, they're like $9.99 and they work better

HAHAHA! it worked for me. 1st time was a charm. i just decided to put the cd in 3 more times so it is cleaner. it worked, it also kind of got rid of some rattling noises too. it does work, srry for the people's who dont work, tough luck.

i think its like a memorex disc with white and green colors for a label. it works momentarily, for me my laser worked for a bit, a good 2 months, then it went back to being dumb, and i tried using it again, and it doesnt actually work as good as before, but it works ok, basically, u should just get a new lens maybe cuz this will work only momentarily.

i think the brushes whit the dust make a sandpaper efect, idk, maybe whit time the lens will got a lot of mini scratchs and then all this mini scratchs make a big one.

i think the better option is open the wii and make a manual cleaning

Theoretically, this won't work since the lens won't detect Wii programming on the CD, thus not making the CD spin at all. The lens moves while trying to read the disc, but not enough to reach the small brushes on the CD in time (before the CD stops spinning).

the funny thing is I just got back my Wii and Brawl disc from Nintendo repairs the same day I wacthed this video. But Iam glad I did it because its for FREE, and it only took 3 days and I though it was going to like 10 or 12 days(but thats because I live in Californa and the repair service was in the same state),Whatever gets your game up and runing

Newer Wii games now come with updates...but I think you need an update so you can use that feature. Take your Wii to a friends house with wifi so you can update.
