  • ok, i just got this song, wow, when u get it, its great....

  • i use to watch Channel V back in the 90's .. right after MTV left Star Network

  • how come when you search this song on Youtube it only shows stupid Adam Lambert - not Go West or Smokey?????

  • So 90s...never been better!

  • There's a Secret Garden Mix on cd2 of the single, it is AWESOME

  • DL the audio from this clip at searchripgrab doht cohm.

  • I love this cover but I gotta tell you, the Go West Tracks of My Tears on the British version of the cd is way better, as they dont amplify his voice and the outcome is way more powerful and moving. In fact I was really upset at how the U.S. division of EMI ruined this track with this version. There's like no comparison.

  • @Shad3251 Yeah I agree, they didnt amplify his voice in the U.K. version which was a good call, and the arrangement differs. The album jacket picture of the American version is blurred and the UK is perfect. Yeah I know what you mean!

  • @punkyhiphopdood The U.S. EMI division ruined it by echoing his voice. The raw version is quite good. Available on Aces & Kings -UK version. I agree this version is just lacking.

  • I love peter cox ... this song is appropriate to his voices

  • This is a good cover...like his voice...Smokey Robinson can't be outdone I think though.

  • I adore Peter's version of this great tune!! Very soulful!

  • SithWitch

  • have to say best song off time...

  • Smokey Robinson still electrifies this song when he does it.. The man is 69 and still tears the house down. I love this instrumental version and use it in my show

    -The Duke of Motown

  • smokey robinson's version is infinitely better than this in every respect.

    Just my opinion.

  • that's not my opinion..

  • beautful song only made better by Go West...Cox is THE BEST singer for this song -- hands down!

  • I love this version. Pete's a great singer. I agree about the wonderful Adam Lambert's version. As Smokey said, no one has ever sung the song in the understated way Adam sang it all the way through from beginning to end (and it got a standing ovation from Smokey himself) but Peter is one of my all-time favourite white soul voices and hugely underrated.

  • another underrated voice is John Farnham, formerly of the Little River Band.

  • lmao you did not just say that!!!!

  • yeah I did...deal with it...lmao!

  • fair enough. but sorry, i thought u were from australia. here he's a joke, only bogans (white trash) like him in oz.

  • pardon, but this was written on my friends account but yeah, I'm not Australian and I'm definitely not white nor trash...so yeah, to each his own...hopefully we are done with this...later mate!

  • done with this? I'm just giving my opinion. i never said you were white trash. oh and u can still have a good voice but be corny and have no artistic integrity. like leona lewis...like john farnham...you don't even know what time it is. get ur own account then mouth off. i'm not your mate.

  • Let's get a few things straight...I'm not your mate either. I do know what time it is because we all have our opinions and we all have our "guilty pleasures" and we are entitled to them. Do you understand all of the words that I have written so far. And I do Have My OWN Account - See? So yes, we are done with this...I'm the last person you wanna dance with ok and I can mouth off anywhere I please. Don't ever tell me what to do...

  • You're right, you are the last person I'd dance with. Only not in the way you're thinking. You should be so lucky to even be the last.

  • i do like smokey robinson's version better, the best of them all!

  • Prefer Bryan Ferry

  • This is a very nice version. Adam Lambert's one is definitely more mellow and heart-wrenching..in a good way of course. But this one's different and great!

  • The best version ever... the voice and style are superb!

  • Peter Cox has such a fantastic voice. Absolutely superb.

  • you should hear the version of adam lambert on american idol....alot better..but this version isnt bad i guess..

  • i beg to differ. AL version does not come close to Go West's version.

Go West puts every word in the song so strong that you understand the song in one sweep.

AL just simply use his vocal lengths but the song comes out a dud.

  • A matter of opinion, anklefester. That is part of Adam's uniqueness, that he can exhibit his vocals and performance ability and convey emotion and not have to sacrifice one for the other.

The two versions aren't comparable - neither is Smokey's original or Bryan Ferry's cover or Justin Hayward's or so on (not forgetting Ben Mills' powerful version) - because they are totally different singers with different voices and performance styles.

  • Anklefiester, I don't get it. Since when was using your vocal ability a bad thing for a singer?

This is a very good version, I think Peter Cox is a great singer but this version is a little predictable and there have been better covers of this song, Adam Lambert's being just one of them (it's a shame that the studio recording is to the original backing track and nothing like the live performance). Justin Hayward's orchestral arrangement is another beautiful and different take on this song.

  • I personally like Go West's version better, but I agree Adam Lambert was good. I like how both versions sound current for their times.

  • I love this version. I love the voice of Peter Cox.

  • the best version i've heard so far!!

  • Love it

  • I love their version of this song, it's how i would do it if i were a singer... well errr a better singer lol such a good band

  • i love this version and also gavin degraw's version, peter cox from go west is lush xxx

  • This is the only version of this song I love...this one is way better than Smoky's. Way better.

  • hey listen to gavin degraw;s version, its brill i hope to convert u to his version enjoy it and let me know what u think of gavin's version, take care and peace and love to ya xxx katrina xxx

  • Thank you for the introduction to Gavin Degraw. He's pretty amazing...and exceptional talent! He's a very different singer than the lead in Go West. Gavin is a good runner up but for my personal taste doesn't beat the Go West version. The Go West lead has a stronger more "soulful" voice and that is exactly what attracks me to their music. Without their lead (notice I don't even know his name..just love his talent)they wouldn't be who they are.

  • I agree with mildred2258. Gavin's version of this song is good but I'd pick this one over Smokey's and Gavin's. :) What im really surprised is that there are like a thousand covers of this song.. :)

  • that's the true mettleof a great songwriter...

Smokey Robinson will be paid forever...

he's responsible for a lot of Motown's hits.

  • Hey Mildred,

His name is Peter Cox and he has loads of recent Go West and solo music out there just waiting for you to listen to his amazing voice!

    Enjoy!!

    Trish
