The best WHL team of all time right there...1997-1998 Portland Winter Hawks! There stats speak themselves! They produced so many NHL stars like Andrew Ference, Marian Hossa, Brenden Morrow, Josh Green, Jason LaBarbera, and even spawnd short stints for other people like Joey Tetarenko, Mike Hurley, Andrej Podkonicky, and Mike Muzecka (sp?).

I was at the '83 final. The MC was incredible--people chanting "U-S-A! U-S-A!" non-stop ten minutes before the game. Just incredible atmosphere, and Portland jumping out to the lead made the third period just one big celebration.

And the reason they don't wear the CooperAlls is because they were too slick--if you fell you wouldn't be able to slow yourself down until you smacked into the boards. Made it too dangerous.

Awesome...I went to one game during that Cup, but had never heard Scooter's call on the final goal.  Ten years later...thanks for the post. "Rebound, scoorrreee, Portland wins the Memorial Cup, Portland wins the Memorial Cup!!! Chills...Go Hawks!
