@ArinOngunTV Enthusiasts, I currently drive a mk2 Polo and I will highly likely end up with one of these estates as I would love to modify one. They are rare even on Club Polo which has over 10, 000 members.
lmao hahah behave major9; which 1 is better polo 6n2 or yaris; basically yaris is a shit thin box and a polo 6n2 is solid german thing; this is not a 6n2 its a 6n dont 4get its a old vid
I'm with you on the Japanese car thing, they always feel a little tinny compared to German stuff but always end up being more reliable. Mk2 Micras are the spiritual successor to the original mini, cheap, reliable, fast and great fun to drive.
im thinking of buying a VW Polo as my first car. Being 17 insurance is massive so I'd prefer to get a 1.0L but Ive heard that they are so slow, and acceleration is almost non existant.
Would u say that getting a 1.3 version would be a better choice? for speed and insurance purposes
I bought a new Polo a few years ago and have regretted it ever since. Unreliable, heavy and slow, enormous servicing costs and very poor service (from dealers at least); I will never buy another vw as long as I live, either new or used. My advice is get something Japanese. My first car was a Micra (2nd hand) and it didn't go wrong once in the 7 years I owned it. The Polo looks nice, that's the only good thing I can say about it. Everything else is crap.
I agree, I think this kind of experience is true on german cars, every one ive had has fallen well below my expectations. My current BMW is only 7 years old and is literally falling apart, its riddled with electrical faults and the trim fit and finish is poor, to be honest my old Fiat Marea was more reliable!
Ive had bad experiences with german stuff too, a golf I had needed painting after 5 years due to the rust, suffered constant breakdowns and electrical issues. The worst thing was the interior build the glovebox fell apart and various switches gave up the ghost. The turbo diesel engine was gutsy but unrefined and too peaky... my current BMW is only 7 years old and is riddled with faults, I buy jap next time i think!
I think it's rather good looking. Well strangely good looking..
This Polo (also the saloon and caddy) was designed by Seat and was made on a different VW platform than Polo hatchback.
And the SDI engine might be underpowered, but it can run well over 700.000 kms with no problems. Well, as almost any VAG diesel engine..
The difference from TDI unit is that it doesn't have an turbocharger. Everything else is the same.

Great vid. Pity they dont have a hatchback review. I've owned 3 x 1.0L polos over the years and have never had any probs.

Well I've been driving a POLO for 5 months now and I have some things to point out:
.Pros:
.Very solid
.Comfortable drive
.Looks smart
Cons:
.Interior feels plasticky and cheap
.Dull. Doesnt feel like and exciting drive.
.Prices are high.

I have a hatchback 1L POLO and I love it to bits -but this estate version looks awefull!!
The POLO is a very reliable car, it looks good, it has all the features a car should have, and it's safe.
I would definitely reccomend the hatchback version over the saloon & the estate. It's a great first car!!!
