am I mistaken or did Gerry (on Don't let The Sun) switch the lyrics around a bit? see Verse one. he sounds like George when he speaks. probably came from the same neighborhood. One of the most stirring pop songs of all time...
He,s still hale and hearty.Saw him last night with the pacemakers in Canterbury, great show, great voice, and he has a full gig list for this year including Oz and New Zealand
Gerry was a good friend of the Beatles and according to some books, stood in for Paul or John when they were unavailable for gigs. I wonder how things would have sounded if he had become a permanent member of the Beatles. Better, worse?
And they did it "live" and in matching suits! Class, class, CLASS! "Don't Let The Sun Catch You Cryin" rhythmically somehow reminds me of The Beach Boys' "She Knows Me", two of my favorite songs by two of my favorite bands. So glad I was old enough (12-years old in 1964) to have been able to enjoy the "British Invasion". And you know what? I STILL do! Cheers all!
akovia is right shite today. the old ways the best. everything is made cheap today jerry and pacemakers don't let the sun catch you crying great! also nice video
In fact, when the Beatles cracked America, Gerry was bigger in the UK than they were!
I might have been at this concert...I did attend two NME poll winners concerts, the first was at the Royal Albert Hall, and the second was the first one held at Wembley.
I saw gerry a few months ago live at Santa Monica Pier, CA. I was very impressed and became a fan since then. He is so happy on stage with a bright glow around him. He sang so good and has such a beautiful voice, and made me feel very good. I wish I discovered him earlier. I love how he talks and he is so funloving and professional and he did a variety of songs. The Tremeloes did some songs with him and their voices were beautiful with orignal harmonies.
Gerry is still performing to sell out crowds all over the world, when he's not playing golf in Spain. If you get the chance to go see him,do. The songs sound as good today as they did 40 years ago.
Ya Gerry and the Pacemakers,a dreat happy group,i allways thought that Gerry had a strain in his voice but he obviously coped with it very well,on there travells they made Liverpool and Briton very proud.
Just wonderful....I sure miss the 60's! Down with rap crap

@corkpopfrance only reason he was just behind the beatles was because of their manager.

I have watched both a dozen times.
Black & White seems to add a nostalgic element which is great in a age of slick productions
