  • This story struck close to me. I followed it the whole time beginning to end and ended up (from my tapes) making him two tapes of news he missed while being held...and mailed off to him. I got a phone call from him thanking me...and saying Dan Rather made him a tape too, and that mine was better...who knows, he was probably just be kind. But, was pretty neat talking to him!

  • Thanks for posting all these clips. I knew little about this story. Awful stuff. I'm glad he got a big welcome back, and that his sister lived to see him. Apparently she died a year later.
