  • I Liike Yoour Textuure ! :)

  • Its ok just wanted to know if it was from scratch or box mix. So I got my answer!! :)

  • What kind of cake mix did you use or is it from scratch??

  • @jemsboo Oooo not sure it was over 3 years ago. I do know it was from scratch but not sure what kind of cake it was. Sorry :(

  • ...I want to bite those butterflies. :-)

  • @M0N3t7 hahahaha :)

  • your cake looks great. I decorate cakes for a living and have no other training other than the training i recieved on site. I have thought about going to a wilton class but i have seen many of the wilton cakes and im just not impressed. i at the most have 30 mins to produce a cake like that with the entire top covered in roses and mums.

i think there training is a little medicore

  • @YourDreamGirl01 The training is really subjective to what instructor you get which is a bummer. I was lucky to have an instructor who knew what he was doing. I think something to remember is that even if someone is taught a technique it is not guaranteed they will be good at it. Ex. I was taught soccer but I totally stink at it :) Since you can do a cake like you described you probably are ready for more advanced training. I've been looking into that too. Let me know if you find anything:)

  • beautiful cake..loved the color and presentation..btw how did u make those birdies? r they edible?

  • @aditishrotri The butterflies are edible. I used color flow. I have another video where I make a decoration for cupcakes that shows how to do the process. If you watch that video you should be able to duplicate any image you want. :)

  • @maddyandlindsey Wilton's basic class. It was course 2 so I guess a little more then basic :) It wasn't any type of specialized class.

  • It must be soi hard to eat it after all the work you put in it! It looks amazing!

  • @tiaree972 Sometimes it is hard to eat. :) Especially when it took over 15 hours to make. I do enjoy seeing other people eat it. Like when I made a cake for a little girl's birthday and she was so excited about it. It made it all worth it seeing the smile on her face.

  • @audg714 15 hours wow! Well good job! I was already impress but now I am speachless! Hope to see more of your work! :D

  • @tiaree972 Just to clarify I'm not sure how long this specific cake took. I have spent 15 hours on another cake. :) I will have another video soon. I'm working on a cake from the Disney movie Tangled that is due this weekend. I'm excited for this Tangled cake. I've never done a Disney cake before and I finally get to make one. :)

  • @audg714 Oh ok! I can't wait to see it then!

  • Very good roses and other flowers x is royal icing the same as frosting and buttercream x

  • @twinklexbabzx Royal icing is different from buttercream. The word frosting is more of a universal term. Frosting can be buttercream, a cream cheese icing, or the stuff you buy in a can at the store. Hope that helps!

  • @twinklexbabzx Buttercream and royal icing is

  • @twinklexbabzx Buttercream and royal icing is different. Buttercream is more what you comes to mind when you think of frosting. It is soft. Royal icing is hard. More like the little hard decorations that you can buy in the store that say "happy birthday" etc that you put on cakes yourself. Royal icing can be made to not be "quite" that hard but this gives you a better idea of the difference between the two. Hope this helps!

  • @MzBarracuda Good decription refrencing the hard decorations from the store. Most people don't know what they are made out of :)

  • Your basket weave cake and embellishments are beautiful! You're a real pro!

  • Really nice looking cake! Thanks for sharing.

  • thank you too much hihi, maybe in my country, they have not mainly powder sugar,so all most recipe like : fondant or royal is not successful,we just have sugar and use machine to make its soft but not really soft, anyway thank u so much

  • Are there any courses online? I am living in the caribbean and I am will to learn more. Anyway I love your cake and keep up the good works.

  • @baker20able I think I saw an advertisement for courses on youtube. I would search here on this site. Other then that you can try and google and maybe you can find something there.

  • i have not shortening, here it cant eat, i havejust meringue powder, cream of tartar ...so wat cream i can make to deccorate like you

  • i have not shortening here, because here it cant eat, i just have white egg, meringue poweder, and cream of tatar, wat cream i made to deccorate like you

  • @phuonghippy Not sure exactly. You can try Royal Icing which is mainly powdered sugar but the icing gets had and is not soft. Since i don't know of the other ingredients you have available I cannot be of much help. Try going to google.com and type in the words icing like buttercream and see if a recipe pops up that you see you have all of the ingredients for. Sorry I'm not of much help

  • fantastic job on that!!!! Great colors and amazing job on the butterfly and the flowers!!!!

  • Excellent job! I hope mine comes out half as good as yours! Beautiful!

  • Gorgeous.. You have a nataural talent..

  • Great job!

    check out my cakes :)

  • @m1dnightw0lf would u eat a wedding cake that was falling a part, crumbs everywhere, looked like crap and not to mention that it was ur wedding cake???

  • amazing job, its beautiful!

  • Great job on the butterfly. Do you remember which template you used? (I am trying to find one on the Wilton website)

  • @gabbygabbyb I got it from the 1979 templates on the wilton web site. I improvised a little when I was doing the color flow and didn't follow the pattern exactly. Did that help?

  • @audg714 - Yes. Thanks for responding!

  • Is the Wilton class that you are taking is it on youtube? if so what do i put to take that class.

  • @cakesnstars No the class I took was a Michaels, a local craft store. JoAnns also does the class. I don't know where you are at to reccommend a place close to you. Check out Wiltons web site. They may be able to link you to a place near you.

  • @cakesnstars there is also a class at Hobby Lobby

  • It's just a cake, get some ice cream and eat it, why must everything be artwork.

    1 part cake

    1 part icing

    1 part ice cream

Don't care what it looks like, just how it tastes.

  • @m1dnightw0lf Then you would be happy to know that the cake was delicious! and My hubby agrees with the ice cream part. We had cake comming out of our noses by the time I was done with the class. Happy cake eating

  • @m1dnightw0lf Some people actually take pride in making sure things look nice... would you eat a cake that looked like crap?

  • @SuperMusiic If it tasted good, yes I would. I understand it's about presentation. But seriously, most people feel guilty eating something that is "artistic". For thousands of years humans have eaten whatever was necessary to survive, roots, bugs, meat, berries, etc. I certainly don't need a cake to look "pretty" for it to be satisfying.

  • Is the basketweave buttercream icing?

  • @bethany625

Yep it is :) Thanks for asking

    I C white veg shortening

    1tsp wilton flavoring (clear)

    2TBS water

    1lb powdered sugar

    1TBS meringue powder

    A pinch of salt

Cream shortening, flavorings and water. Add dry ingredients and mix on medium until all ingredients have been throughly mixed together. Blend additional minute or so until creamy.

  • hey what tip did u use for that basket weave? is it 47? it looks awesome!!

  • @italianchickboston Yep a 47 :)

  • WOW!

  • Thanks for all of the comments guys!

  • Looks great. I'm interested in how you did the color flow.

  • @MsRanner I used the colorflow recipe on the Wilton web site using the color flow packet you can buy at stores that sell Wilton items. The pattern for the butterflies I got from the Wilton web site as well. You dilute the color flow into two consistencies. a thicker to outline the patten you want to use and a thinner to fill the center. Hope that helps :)

  • This is soooo pretty!!!

Can you please tell me who did you do the flowers? They look real.

    Thank you.

  • @DangerusBeast Thanks :) I did the flowers through a Wilton cake decorating class I took at a craft store. If you can get your hands on a Wilton Course 2 class booklet on Amazon or another book site it will tell you how to do them. It is very discriptive. Im sorry I cannot go into more detail as it would be a book :) hope that helps

  • no way I can do the flowers that good, but I plan on doing the sides of my mom's b-day cake like a basket. Your cake looks beautiful!!!

  • The butterflies were a great idea!

  • that looks really goood :)

  • That looks great! I made mine with white buttercream. Your butterflies are beautiful! Great job. :)
