Omg seriously, every company buys their micas somewhere. GDE, Heavenly Naturals, Taylor Made,Beauty From The Earth.... Yeah, Doe Deere isn't the only one who repackages. MOST small companies do.

Sure, you can buy micas from TKB but they're not eyeshadow. These companies add other ingredients to actually turn them into eyeshadow. Buy mica from tkb and it wont stick to your eye. So all of you just fork over the extra 4 bucks and get a finished product and shut up.

I'm not ragging on Limecrime intentionally, I really disdain companies that repackage products (Coastal Scents does too, just thought I'd warn you)

Why spent 14 bucks for each shadow when you can make a few of your own for the same price? Maybe I'm just being cheap but if you've looked on TKB there are some amazing colours for cheap

I agree, Lime Crime is kinda dumb for not admitting they simply add a base to their micas.

I like companies that disclose their repackaged shades, such as BFTE or GDE.

There are 4 Lime Crime colors I have, which are 'confimed' tkb colors, and while I agree they are pretty much identical, the Lime Crime ones actually stick lol.

You are so lucky if straight mica sticks to your eye. I practically need glue to get straight mica to stick lol.

@18YunaYubi18 Well they stick pretty easy if you use a paint pot or something like that. I like the NYx Jumbo Eye Pencils personally cause they're a little cheaper (If you leave them on a window sill or somewhere in the sun, when you use them they are like glue lol)

In regards to repackaging companies you are better off buying the mica and bases directly from a 'wholesaler' such as TKB & making it yourself for up to a third of the cost. Essentially when you purchase repackaged products you are wasting your money, putting it into the pocket of someone who has taken no creativity or initiative to produce unique make up. They're putting a small amount in a jar, putting a sticker on it and charging you more. So now, which one would you prefer?

I have two eye dusts from Lime Crime. Siren and Dragon Scales. I have no issue with either product and I got a lot to last me about a lifetime. I don't have physical proof that Doe is a scam artist or what not. So until someone comes out with actual, physical proof, I will continue buying her products.

It's mixing medium, you can get it from Sephora or any makeup retailer. For a cheaper alternative, use Visine (eyedrops).

As for the drama, I don't think Lime Crime is intentionally copying or repackaging anything, and I think anyone who attacks xsparkage for using it, and liking it needs to get over themselves and their double standards. We all know that if Lime Crime was cheaper you wouldn't bitch at all, even if it was truly repackaged(which I am not yet convinced it is) and then sold as being completely unique.

Those are total rumors. I have tried BFTE, other mineral companies and Lime Crime and the colors are absolutely not duplicates. Similar shades but NOT the same product. And I prefer Lime Crime's quality and packaging by a mile.

Look up Glamour Doll Eyes. She and Lime Crime buy their pigments from the same bulk supplier, but Glamour Doll Eyes sells them for way cheaper. $8 gets you 2.5 grams of the exact same product Limecrime charges $12 for 2 grams of. They just put their own sticker on the lid but it's the same thing.

I have high hopes for this one because she spent 4 years creating the colors herself, so they won't be just repackaged like the Lime Crime brand. I love the way the Lime Crime makeup looks and as soon as I get money I want to order a few pigments and see how I like them. I think it's a bit unethical for Limecrime to say that she created her line out of "necessity" because she supposedly couldn't find bright colors anywhere so she had to make them herself. EVERYONE has already figured out that she buys generic stock pigments from the same supplier as other mineral companies, and just re-sells it. She is saying she invented the product, when in truth you can get the identical product from any other mineral company at a fraction of the price.

I think it's silly that everyone is arguing about whether Xenia is really a celebrity and whether she has friends or not. It distracts from the real point: That she buys and repackages the SAME generic pigments many other mineral companies are selling and charges 3x what the other companies do. Then she has the gall to justify the price by claiming she spent months creating these colors that are so bright and unique that you can't get them anywhere else. When she knows full well that isnt true.

It's called marketing. Chill out. No company would be dumb enough to advertise that they're selling the same thing as their cheaper competitor. You have to market yourself by saying it's unique, new, and different. Nothing wrong with that, especially since she's famous and that in itself makes her product unique. And her site says that 1 gram is good for 75 uses, which makes $12 incredibly cheap.

Using that same logic (1 gram is good for 75 uses) the same should apply for Cuberry, Beauty from the Earth, Face Front, etc, since it's been proven and confirmed that LC sells the exact same pigments they do, just repackaged in a different jar. But the other brands aren't charging $12 for 1 gram. They're charging $10 for 5 grams. Do the math and think about it. =)
