Though the first was goofier, and the second got a lot more serious, honestly, I think thats what I found appealing about this movie.

Po allowed his skills to be recognised by those around around him after defeating Tai Lung, making him realise his potential in the first.

But Po then had to face a true worldly threat, Sheng, had to find out a terrifying truth about his past, and overcome all of it that to find inner peace.

For me, thats what made this movie the epitome of "Awesomeness"
