Yes it was very fun for both of us. He was a truly unique cockatoo. You could leave him out all day and he didn't tear or chew up anything that wasn't his to play with. Occasionally he would go tear up our sun conures toys just to be a snot. He would sit on the back of the couch patiently waiting for me to come sit and scratch him for as long as I would sit there, hours on end even. Truly one of kind

These guys or gals for about $1800 - $2400 for a young one. You can find them for less if they are re-homes or rescues. Some animal shelters actually have an exotics section now. Please READ read read up on them before you decide to buy for both your sakes.
@2hottiegirl2 . I have a grey as well. The best way I get him to stop the biting is to put him down (in or on his cage) and ignore him when he bites. If I am consistant he learns rather quickly. If he beaks me but not bites like when he is saying no, I don't want to be touched right now I just honor his wishes. I hope this helps. K

Yes it is silly and he's having fun. I don't abuse my bird with the spray bottle if that's what you are implying. If you don't like it don't look. We take in birds that nobody wants or have been neglected or abused or both. Don't judge what you don't know. That bird loved me more than you could possibly immagine. Keep your negativity to yourself.
Thanks so much, and I agree with you. We just have to find a way to not let it twist our hearts and harden them. He brought so much joy that my heart is so full of his love and good memories, it helps me get through the pain. But then I lost my dad too in June so what do I know. Just remember, it is better to love & mend a broken heart because it is stronger in the end.
Yes, the good memories you had with them you have forever and can always treasure. My Grandparents wre the people in the family, the only people, that I was close with who were decent and so classy and full of love. I respected them and loved them alot, and I miss them everyday but I remember the good times and it helps me to smile.

Thanks, he is pretty goofy sometimes. Since I made this video he does this a lot. He gets a little carried away sometimes and I get nipped but he is a great bird. He is one of the rare few that I can let wander around the house w/out him wrecking stuff. The only time he tears things up is when he's jealous of another of our birds & he wrecks their current favorite toy or if he's mad at me he will throw my papers on the floor. One time he tore up my fav clendar. He's a KOOK & he's a lot of fun 2!
I have 2 'toos...an 11 yr old umbrella, and a 47 yr old rescued plucked Molly. The one I have had since he was 6 months old, and the older bird is a rescue. His owner died of cancer and he wound up in a pet shop, all naked and shivering. The pet shop owner gave him to me as he knew he could never sell him as he was. He is a noisy sweetie!
Good one! That's about right too. He sneaks up on me and nips the back of my ankle sometimes. I was telling my husband that he's my personal trainer! ha ha. He is good at getting me to "slow jog" around the house.
Sorry it's been so long since I signed on. Been busy with my father. He was orig purchased to breed and make money off of. When that didn't work out I guess the man that didn't like him let him know how much he didn't like him. But now Starbuck is healthy, happy & spoiled rotten. We love him a lot. He is so funny. When I let him pick out a nut he picks each one up & puts his tongue on all of them. I don't know if he's acting like a rotten kid licking them so no one will want them?
Thanks, he has started chasing me now regularly. He is a really cool bird. I wish I could get him on video when he's mad at my hubby. He turns the most lovely shade of peach, stomps his foot and kinda squeals & snorts at him. It is hilarious. Maybe I can catch it soon & add it. Thankx for your nice comment. They are VERY intellegent. That is prob 1 reason I enjoy them so much. I looked @ your profile and see you are a diver. I used to dive too. Just of the coast of So Calif. but I loved it. Do you own the boat? Your videos are great. So much beauty and fun too. Great sport. Miss it alot. Now I play with birds. If you do end up with a bird you might consider a rescue. I place birds from time to time, just in the USA but there must be some avail in Malaysa too. Take care n have fun.!

It looks that way but it is probably that he fluffs up his feathers and more color shows but it is really funny to watch. Starbuck is really a cool friend and we feel very lucky to have him. We call him Snarfy cause of the breathing sounds. Snafalicious & lots of silly things like that. Snarfasorous, cockadactyl, & more. I think he likes all his silly names. This bird was 10 yrs old when I got him. He was skinny & negelected,living outside in well over 100* summers & snow every winter. The food he had was ok for a cockatiel & water bowl covered in slime. He was abused for 10 yrs-since he didn't turn out to be a baby maker.WTF-"Why Think First"in your case.

$1800 to $2400 is the going rate. I only paid $500 for him but he was a rehome and 10 years old when I got him.
