Just found this today by accident, I love Taiko drumming and was looking to see if any new vids were up and found yours. You have so many videos concerning the culture, flora, fauna of Japan! I was instantly blown away! None of us could compete with their skill, and we're all in high school!

Awesome kids!!!!! but you need to learn how to use a video camera. Don't keep zooming in and out and panning back and forth. Just saying no offence. But you will get better results

Awesome performance! I would pay to see this. I love to watch Taiko performance, but I have never seen it done by such young drummers with great spirit and precision. Thanks to the kids and their school! (and btw, nice camera work)

It really doesn't "mean" anything specifically. Those yells are just a way of getting themself all "fired up" during the performance. To keep them in unison rhythmically as well.

We just LOVE to shout and yell every chance we get! It's the Japanese way!!!! ; D

This style of drumming always looked like so much fun to me! I was really happy when a group of taiko performers came to the university. Some day I want to give it a try myself. Those kids were really amazing. I can only imagine how long it took them to learn all that. And the littlest one on the side playing air-drums! sweet!
