@Nags -- There is in fact a real rule in most colleges that says freshmen can't bring their cars, so he couldn't have anyway. I do think, though, that he should have been more regretful of that.

@Kalabanano According this movie, Sam says he's playing it up, as in he can talk but prefers to use the radio. In the comics set in the movie-verse, he does get his voice damaged again by some Decepticon.
