Getting such a clean result is quite a feat! The layers in this model stack up like it is nobody's business, especially in the head, making it very hard to achieve clean, crisp folds. My (feeble in comparison) attempt did produce the model, but it is a bit of a bulging wrinkled mess after 5 hours of folding. I guess I will have to try again, hoping that maybe one of these days I can get a result as beautiful as this one.

i used 50 x 50 cm gift wrapping paper, but the legs/wings are sort of too weak to support itself...

I have made this before, and I gotta hand it to him, this model is pretty hard. And for everyone commenting there is a book called works of satoshi kami that gives diagrams and he can't make a tutorial cause it takes about 4 hours to fold.

first of all satoshi kamiya (the creator of this origami) doesn't want his crations to be taught online cause then he don't make money on his books and plus I don't think you want to watch a video that is about 10Hs long even if it is in parts, plus I bet no one has the patience to make a video for it,so just forget it!!!

Don't be crazy even for an expert like Satoshi Kamiya this model takes an average of 5 hours to make, an average person takes a fair ammount longer than that. Noone's going to make a 5+ hour video.

@austinater6 Dude, first of all he would need permission from the author Kamiya Satoshi, and he doesn't want his models to be taught online, second, the tutorial would be more than 6hrs long, because folding takes 4-5hrs, and explaining folds would be around 1hr...

it takes approx. 4 hours to fold that dragon, so guess how long the tutorial is going to be ;-) but here on youtube you can find the pdf of that origami book from S.K. including the ancient dragon.
