Might I recommend on the bass intro for those playing this at home, palm mute it lightly so it still rings well. And also on the beginning of the bass picking rhythm, hammer onto the low E string from open to the 4th fret on the first note, and repeat that same hammer pattern throughout the bass line. It is a bit more authentic to the recorded track (listen to the track again if you're confused by what I'm saying).
