@samurai50062 WANT and WON'T are confusing because of their spelling. WANT is pronounced with the UH sound. It rhymes with hunt, punt, runt. WON'T is pronounced with the O sound. It rhymes with don't. The O vowel is in the words so, comb, rode.

WEIGHT and WAIT are pronounced the same. They both have three sounds: W, Long A, and T.

HEARD and HERD are pronunced the same. They both have three sounds: H, ER, D.

HEART and HURT are pronounced differently. HEART is pronounced: H ARE T. While HURT is pronounced H ER T.
