  • selling my jap rocket for a 48, time to go old school, love the 48, i even love the 7.9L tank, even tho its small it makes it look awesome, cant wait to get my 2012 forty eight, will defently putting V&H short shots and heavy breather on, bring the full potential from the 1200cc, peace out ride safe

  • When I walked into my local harley shop and saw this bike it was love at first sight lol

  • LEAVE IT ON STEVE !!!

  • between the big radius and comp system which one do you think performs better? I'm actually between the two, thanks.

  • Great video! Straight to the point. I like it

  • holy shit......

  • only issue i have with this bike is the tank. like keep the same look just add another gallon.

  • V&H is the best HD pipes IMO. I have V&H short shots on my 2011 Street Bob. Before that I had the side shots on my 1200 nightster. The whole concept with the 48 and Nightster is very retro. I think HD hit the nail on the head when they came out with the dark custom line. But now I'm pissed because HD replaced the 96CI with the 103CI for 2012... DAMN THEM! lol now I need to buy the 2012 street bob.

  • Damn good sound coming out of those V&H Comps and Big Radius pipes for both bikes but I can't stand the style of those Big Radius. Just horriblly ugly for my taste but to each his own. Awesome vid though good work.

  • These 48's are so great, a definite nod to the great Harleys of yesteryear! Enjoy your bikes and ride safe. Sportster 48's are badass!!!

  • Shoulda got a thunderheader!

  • awesome video

  • i think its cute you and your buddy have the same bike

  • Thats the same sound like Homer Simpsons Bike. He won it at the dancecontest. =)

  • I came here more interested in the pipes. Great video. I have stock exhaust but am looking into V&H Big Radius and was wondering what kind of difference I'd be looking at. Thanks gents!

  • except the tiny fuel tank this bike is remarkable

  • leave it on steve!

  • 1 person out of 68,157 rides a Karizma

  • Those pipes look great and sound better.

  • What are they your girlfriends bikes????LOL

  • LEAVE RUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LEAVE RUN STEEVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV LEAVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE AH ! ! ! :)

    STEVE :"OK LEAVE RUN"

STEVE ,that is your harley? and above all ,do you leave run it? lol

  • Vance and Hines Rules!

  • unemployment sucks balls!!!

  • Any updates - I'm looking to also get the competition series exhaust on my 48 - any riding videos? How is the heat on the leg?

  • @romanemp27 none yet. my buddy will be coming within the month so we will make another vid eventually. the competition pipes don't have heat shields so he did melt his shoes on them a few times. they sound awesome though. if you get them, i would suggest black heat wrap.

  • damn the 48 is so sick, i want one!

  • thanx for the input man- i have the se heavy on right now and love the performance, just lookin for similar if not the same performance with a lower profile- btw, both bikes sound and look rad but really like the comp series pipes on whoever's bike that is- sounds like a beast

  • @wobw1 u should hear it in person.. we'll do another vid hopefully sometime soon.

  • @chrisdela sick!! lookin forward to seein it- im hopefully goin to put one of mine up soon- after i change out the a/c and put my chain drive on

  • @wobw1 chain drive? nice. there's a 250 rear tire kit that comes with a chain drive.. but it's like $2300. too rich for my blood.

  • hey man, rad bikes- i was actually looking at both of those air cleaners (joker vs figure) and was wondering if you had a chance to try both and what you thought as far as preformance

  • @wobw1 I liked the silver bolts and the way the Xl looks. The Joker one does look smaller though. I am putting on the Joker AC this weekend. I am sure I will be satified with the Joker one.

  • @shandapimp cool, thanx- let me know, im trying to get a performance comparison- i like the way they both look- joker has the old style but i know you can get the figure one custom etched... hard decision- but it always comes down to performance for me

  • @wobw1 as far as performance they're probably going to both be around the same. the difference is that the xlflow-r is a little bigger. if you want performance though you'll want to go with the screamin eagle heavy breather. for customization, go with xlflow-r.

  • looks and sound GREAT! good job! Wish I would have seen the Xlflow before i bought the joker machine one.

  • @shandapimp hey man, i was just wondering about that joker a/c and why u wish u went with the figure?

  • @shandapimp heh yeah i like my xlflow but my buddy really loves his joker machine ac.

  • A chinese on a Harley LOL. Funnies shit ever. Keep it coming

  • @rg0r we're not chinese. and i don't see how it's funny. learn some proper grammar, get educated, pull your head out of your ass, then get back to me.

  • Some driving vids would ease my mind ;)

  • @Skumbanan82 the driving vids will be coming within a month or 2. i just got my z-bars on. now i just need my buddy to come down from L.A. so we can do a little riding/video taping.

  • @chrisdela Sweet! Looking forward to this!

  • Just ordered a 2011 Forty Eight to be delivered next spring. I saw your mods with the V&H Big Radius and I just fell in love!

I´m getting those, the V&H ECU upgrade and also the SE Heavy Breather kit. Hoping that this will make the swedish streets rattle just like your bike does :)

  • @Skumbanan82 i'm sure you'll love the V&H pipes ;) and the heavy breather kit will definitely perform well for you. the ECU upgrade isn't the best option, but if you don't have any dyno tuners out there, then it will do fine. your gas mileage may suffer a little though.

  • @chrisdela Sweet! I´m so looking forward to this! Sad part is that here i Sweden we will have to experience tons of snow for like 5-6 months every winter. Sucks to kinda have that ahead of you know :(

The reason why I will go for the V&H ECU is that de other ones void the bikes guarantee back here in Sweden (for whatever reason unknown).

Our gas price is measured in liters but in gallons it equals about 6.5 dollar per gallon. So quite expensive but whateva! :P

  • The camera man needs to stand back a bit to tame that distortion...

  • @methodsin01 the distortion was part of the effects he added in.

  • I'm looking forward to see how your bike turns out with the Z-Bar ape's and wire tuck. Are you documenting the work like the comparison you've done here. My '11 48 hits my dealer here in the Netherlands in 3 weeks so I'm trying to prep things to keep me busy during our cold and wet winters here. Keep feeding what you have. Cheers.

  • @Gheckos1 i wish i did document the ape hangers and wire tuck, but there would have been so much editing needed because we have spent well over 10 hours on this job. i also wish that i at least took pictures.. i only have a few and they don't really show how much work it takes to get apes on. i will be finishing the job up today and should have a new video in a week or so.

  • i originally posted this video on my friend's youtube account. the next video to go up will be on the account that i am posting this comment with.

  • Very nice. Did you rub the competition pipes down a bit, it may be the video, but it looks like you've sanded the pipes all the way down to the collector?

Absolutely appreciate the vid, nice to have the comparison.

  • @GheckosJJ no he didn't rub them down, they don't come with heat shields so they're pretty bare.

  • is cool a buddy with the same bike, are you brothers? or what? nice video, please post a vid. riding up!

  • @CaracasVtwin we're not brothers just friends. and yes we will have a video of us riding but not for a little while, my bike is out of commission while i'm putting z-bars on.

  • how many HP and Torque did you gain?

  • @CaracasVtwin not sure, i'll find out when i get it tuned later on this month.

  • Great looking bikes. It's almost perfect right from the showroom. I think all I would add is some pipes similar to yours and some short aped Z-bars maybe.

  • @saigudbai my bike is currently in pieces because i'm putting z-bar apes on and doing a wire tuck.

  • Thanks nice comparison. Now I want one!

  • daym, this video make's me miss my 48, the shop better hurry up

  • @CJ7with285andt18 you'll love it when you get it.. people compliment it pretty often.

  • @antontonce that they do i had a buell xb9sx i washed it started acting up so i got 1 of thies and its the best they do coment on the bike all the time

  • do you hapen to know if the short shots staggered fit the 48 the same as the 2-2 pipes you have on your harley?. by the way nice vid!

  • @Stribiepg yeah they do fit the same as my pipes do. just know that a few people, as well as myself, had to do a little fabrication to get everything to fit. and thanks ;)

  • Excelent bikes, excelent pipes on both of 'em.

I love the badass-retro look of the 48. got myself an 883 sporty at the moment, thinking to upgrade to a 48 soon hopefully.

    Keep uploading!

  • @davillarreal85 the look definitely separates it from other sportys, that's for sure. especially the front tire. test drive one, you might end up trading in ;)

  • nice bikes! how is the v-tuning going. is one tuning any harder than the other?

  • @dp2826 i haven't asked my buddy, but i haven't been doing any tuning cuz i plan on getting my bike dyno tuned after i get my apes on.

  • the muffled effect of the competition series 2-1 cetainly plays the right tunes although the 2-2 looks neater

  • @powersliding the 2 into 1 definitely sounds very nice in person.. and looks good too. steve definitely likes the looks of his pipes/ac combo.

  • question about the competition 2-1.... wondering if scraping is an issue on tight turns.... similar to the stock exhaust? thanks for the info

  • @torchthecreep the 2-1 pipes are just as low as the stock pipes so if you are the type who takes your right turns very low, you will scrape. i've scraped the bottom of my heat shield on my 2-2 pipes already. i told my friend to take his turns slower instead of getting real low so as not to damage his pipes since there are no heat shields. it's easier to replace heat shields than it is to replace entire pipes.

  • nice vid guys

  • @lanceoa thanks brother. don't forget to keep your vids comin too.

  • Hey guys, great great sound - I really like it! That would be great if we could have such pipes in Germany. In Germany everything is ruled and the maximum is 100db that's it. So very cool sound!

  • @TheSaintUlrich thanks. much appreciated. that sucks that you guys are limited on how loud your bikes can be. i also noticed the orange tail lights for you guys.. definitely needs to be red.

  • Beautiful bikes, I have the same one just trying to figure which exhaust I should go with. Which exhaust gave the bike better performance?

  • @bcp5503 at this time we aren't sure cuz we are trying to v-tune them with the master tuner. we will get them dyno tuned probably later down the line.. i'm thinking late summer. 2 into 1 always gives better performance though. all i can say is.. the short shots are cheap, but everyone has em. go for something different, and don't forget to put up a video of it.
