  • Thanks dalailama 尊者达赖喇嘛 我们都爱您~~

  • During the seven-day Spring Festival "Golden Week" (Feb. 2-8, 2011), Tibet has received tourists of up to 83,899, 3.5% higher than that of last year, CNN reported.

During the week, more than 41,000 tourists stayed in Tibet for at least two days, 7.3% lower than that of the year 2010. Tibet has achieved tourist revenue of up to 59.14 million yuan, 6% higher than that of last year.

  • Tourists in Tibet Autonomous Region during the Spring Festival consist of self-driving tourists and pilgrims from the Tibetan-inhabited areas of neighboring provinces, according to the data released by the Tourist Administration of the region.

  • Due to the abnormal global climate, frigidity hit most part of China in winter with the northern part drought and the southern part affected by continuing snow and freezing weather. Therefore Tibet, which boasts strong sunshine, clean air and cozy weather, has become tourists' favorite resort during the Spring Festival.

  • “I would like to take this opportunity to renew my call to the government of China to release Mr. Liu Xiaobo and other prisoners of_ conscience who have been imprisoned for exercising their freedom of expression.”

"Awarding the Peace Prize to him Liu Xiaobo is the international community's recognition of the increasing voices among the Chinese people in pushing China towards political, legal and constitutional reforms.”

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

    October 8, 2010

  • Long live Tibet! Long live his holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

  • Dorje Shugden worshipper bitching is not on topic for this video Please go comment elsewhere, or propitiate your wrathful deity to your heart's content with no interference from DL or anyone else, as is your right. • @agam4 i have a question... is the dali lama an athiest, in the sense he doesn't believe in a higher power.. and just in peace, soul, mind.....

or does he believe in some what of a "god" or a higher power

  • @fireking9934 Too complicated for a short answer and way above my competence. I'd ask you to search out his own statements on this subject, for a better result. I will say, Buddhism is not atheism. The many deities in Tibetan Buddhism can be seen as specific manifestations of what others would call "God". A higher power? I would say yes. But Lord Buddha was a man who taught possibly the first instance of "trust but verify". It's complicated. HHDL has spoken about this, better not listen to me.

  • Tibet will be free as Truth can't be hidden for too long! FREE TIBET

  • Tibet will be free soon!

  • "I come to you....with sushi"

  • Long live His Holiness~!

  • Dalai Lama is like a man walking over a hill with an intent to wear down that hill; task so seemingly impossible, but everything is possible when You put Your heart to it.

As sonamtsering123 said, you got to keep dreaming! I share that dream. I come from former communist country, and we sang ourselves to freedom. (at least my parents did - I am 20) :)

To pro-Chinese: I welcome international open talks about autonomy of Tibet between China and Dalai Lama.

Walk your dream, make it reality ...

  • And after admitting that he couldn't even understand the video he described as "anti-China", explorubus returns to insult me for noticing this contradiction.

Whatever. The spirit of CCP tolerance again descends here upon angry CCP propagandists, their non-Chinese admirers and persons not willing to have dialog honestly.

    Gone.

  • as a non chinese, I can assure you that these antichina videos make the chinese people heroes in the eyes of all the nonchinese, because it demonstrates the extent of hatred and aggressive behavior of the westcentric people like you, their abnormal, agitated, schizophrenic mentality. good luck in the future!

    ...and thank you china!

  • Now, there's your major problem right there. Either you didn't watch the vid, couldn't understand the words, or are lying. There's nothing "anti-China" about this, or anything else HHDL ever says in public.

The sooner some Chinese (and those others like explorubus) realize that, the better for China. And please do something about your "abnormal, agitated, schizophrenic mentality" rather than project it onto a man who does not hate you or them at all.

  • seriously, it is hard to understand what the man tries to say. they must have put something in his glass of water before his speech. the man has difficulty putting his words together. it is kind of funny to look at all those trying to take interest in what he says. a bunch of schizophrenic people.

  • So, you couldn't understand it, but you were POSITIVE that it was "anti-China." The European Parliament people seemed to understand him just fine. I can understand him just fine also.

It is kind of funny to see a few people trying to pretend they don't understand what he says. If explorubus wants to laugh at the "abnormal, agitated, schizophrenic" - he should check in the nearest mirror.

  • maybe you are suffering from schizophrenia...u should go to see a doctor.

  • LOL in fact europe as a whole couldnt care less about tibet, coz there's no political advantages for them to gain from dalai and his little gang, instead, siding with china would grand europe more political and economical benefits.

  • I don't want to report to some Chinese official about Tibet situation, which is exactly what Dalai lama is proposing to the Chinese Govt. I know complete independence is not easy to achieve, but We, all Tibetan, should stick with this approach and sooner or later we will get our country back. Let me ask all the Tibetan this, If someone comes to your house and kick you out of your own house, would you ask him to let you live under your own roof? The answer is simple.

  • china will never accept dalai no matter how much he tries to suck up, coz china hasn't got nothing to loss, there's not a single country in this world offically accepts tibet as a legitmate nation anyway, keep dreaming kid

  • Keep dreaming, That's what white folks said to blacks when they asked for right to vote, and they kept dreaming. Guess what, we have black president here. Nothing is impossible and we have something that can't be dictate, our own identity. We don't even have to fight chinese. Sooner or later, China will face what Russia faced, and every ethic group in China will be free and live as what they wanted to be, not what Han chinese wanted us to be.

  • I am tired of hearing Dalai lama saying that we are not asking for complete freedom. My ancestor didn't die for partial freedom, instead for the complete independence of Tibet. I think he should retire, also all the monks that are currently holding govt. seat in Tibetan society and let the new generation handle the situation. Complete freedom is what I stand for and I am asking for something that is rightfully mine.

  • i support free-tibet ,

break china into 3 pieces to make it weak ,

    TIBET

    EAST-KUSDISTAN

    CHINA

  • thanks for posting this vid :-)

  • all dump cummunist prophets must be shut up and drink melamine milk. free Tibet and Taiwan country.

  • Be aware that by costume and words, he's always binding himself with the holy Buddhism to maintain his perfect image to outsiders.

    What is the aim?

  • han net terrorist, paid communist party employee.

  • So, when is Sarkozy or those EU hypocrites handing their "Freedom Award" to Muntazer al-Zaidi, the Iraqi reporter who threw his shoe at Gitmo Bush? He's probably getting 2 years in jail for insulting a VIP.

  • Is banzaidawan this silly in real life? If YOU attacked a foreign head of state in YOUR country, you wouldn't even be arrested I suppose?

Bush showed his good grace (and reflexes), Iraqi reporters showed their grace by apologizing for their cohort, and the American Left showed its colour by cackling over it all for days.

That reporter had the right to ask any hard question of Maliki and Bush - Saddam would have killed him for it. He chose the shoe.

When did HHDL ever throw a shoe at anyone?

  • You're a funny guy, arrogance, evil, does not have its own ideas. China is a moderate country, has never invaded the land of the West. But your ancestors in the history of numerous Chinese aggression. You kill a lot of Chinese , Resulted in many tragedies, so that the children lost their parents, so that his wife lost her husband. Violence to win you the wealth of China, China has become so poor. So you do not have the right to criticize China. You should repent and seek China's understanding.

  • China is a moderat country???? Compared to what????? Nord-Korea????? In what world would China bee a moderate country??? WTF!

  • his holiness,what makes him holy ?

  • Thank you lobdet for the share. The non violent way is the only way it goes. This gives other people time of reflexion and time of awareness

    raising.

  • My heart with you , my dear His Holiness Dalai Lama

    Tashi Delek

    tanks my dear lobdet :)

  • long live tibetan Chinese as good citizens of China. Long live tibet as part of China. Long live China.

  • Long Live His Holiness Dalai Lama, and Long Live the Tibetan People. Long Live the Hope for chinese Democracy. Long Live chinese Respect for Tibet.

Oh wait, that last one hasn't been born yet.

  • The holiness has devoted his life to help so many europeans reach enlightenment and he should be considered as the king of europe. This is the least the europe can do in return. hail Daila Lama. Long live to the Daila-EU alliance!!!! join us to become a loyal follower of the holiness.

  • That's a pretty dumb idea actually. A better idea would be for you to learn how to spell his name.

  • Nonsense, Party Sec is the boss. Just like when Hu Jintao filled that role. Crackdown? Re-education? Forced confessions? On his orders alone. You really have no idea.

  • 2)Let the inside Tibetans speak then! When they try, Chinese beat and take them to jail, or just shoot them. Only exiles don't have your boots on their necks.

Bias #2: Yes this is what Tibetan govt tells you. Tibetans are jailed because of violence in March. Any government will do the same. Tibetan students as well as other ethnic groups criticize govt all the time. However, Chinese govt only limits such freedom of speech in a small scale, which should be changed for all Chinese.

  • You are impossible. By replying that this statement is only just "what Tibetan gov't says" - i.e. Tibetan lies - you show you are not serious here. Plenty is known about these events, you refuse to know them.

Debating you in tiny comments is useless, which is I suspect your purpose. I have a blog, there are lots of accounts there comment on anything you like. But read something first.

I sense the spirit of CCP tolerance which struck this thread yesterday, is hovering again.

  • 1)Tibetans have always populated the high plateau, TAR is less than half that, the rest annexed by China into provinces.

Bias #1: people move from hasher areas to lower lands for better life; this has been going on for more than a century. These areas were not under the direct Dalai lama rule before 1949, and certainly are unrealistic to have a province as big as 1/4 of a country. Maybe you have a better way than "annexing"

  • Very few Chinese lived on the high plateau in those days. The inhabitants were Tibetan, even if claimed by some Chinese warlord or other. They looked to Lhasa, and you miss my point. You said 60% lives outside Tibet - you mean TAR. The rest was stolen. Chinese used to call it "Inner Tibet." Lhasa was in the "Outer Tibet."

  • If you think everything China says is lie, you shouldn't blame that there are people who think Tibetan govt in exile are always lying.

I certain have read what they demanded from their website. And I can tell you that I don't think this type of autonomy will be granted.

BTW, it's not just me. Even western scholars who have studied Asia politics agree that their demands are hard to be granted.

  • Actually in international law, Tibetans are a People as defined in that field. As such they have the inalienable right to self determination.

But they ask autonomy, their right, and which they were promised from the beginning. Not separation. You refuse to believe it. Chinese leaders reply mechanically on that one. "He wants theocracy!"

How could anyone take you for a "dialogue partner"?

  • Chinese you have utterly failed to stop Sarkozy from meeting the Dalai Lama. We are free.

  • Just give you some facts in case you cannot find from the Tibetan websites:

    1) Tibetan population is 6 million, 60% of them do not live in Tibet province; i.e. most of them live with Chinese, Muslims, Mongolians etc.

    2) The Tibetan exile makes 1.6% of total Tibetan population, most of whom left Tibet in 1959, and they haven't been back for 50 yrs. You think you heard the real Tibetan voice?

    3) Tibetans in China make 90% of current Tibetan govt., (wait... we want 100%...)

  • 1)Tibetans have always populated the high plateau, TAR is less than half that, the rest annexed by China into provinces.

2)Let the inside Tibetans speak then! When they try, Chinese beat and take them to jail, or just shoot them. Only exiles don't have your boots on their necks.

3)Only voice that matters is one: Party Sec. Listen to that guy's foul mouth, he's a dictator. Governor means nothing.

You got the CCP points I hear and read many times. When will you read or hear the Tibetans' POV?

  • Why not someone just list the actual demand of the Tibetan exile government during the negotiation with Chinese government, if that is so easy to find? The Tibetan government websites are just filled with their rhetorics of Chinese oppressing Tibetans, and they only want autonomy, blah, blah, blah. Let's look at the facts and then say whether there autonomy request is reasonable or not

  • The CCP tells lies about the Tibetan proposals, but you don't want to read them and know that. Word for word, the memorandum presented to the Chinese side is there for you to read. Scroll further down the list for some numbered rebuttals of China's false assertions, presented in a logical and solid way. You need to do some reading. I can't offer you much in 500 chars. Quit refusing to listen to the Tibetans.

And yes, what China has done, and is doing, in Tibet is pure imperial colonialism.

  • Tell me what is colonialism, Agam4. Tibetans in China are not Indians in the British empire in the 20th century. They have the same right as any Chinese citizen in China in any aspects of life. I am not saying that the human right situation is perfect in China, but there is no issue of one ethnic group colonizing and exploiting another in China.

  • It's quite funny to see the level of ignorance in some of these comments. It's trivially easy to find out what the Tibetans are asking for, the proposals for autonomy that have been made. For the Tibetan government's position, go to tibet[dot]net and spend some time reading. Autonomy is not a "rhetorical term."

CCP is not sincere and proves it is not a mature dialog partner. China needs to do what every other colonial country has done, and deal with it honestly. That's what Tibetans want.

  • "China needs to do what every other colonial country has done"??? why is that? who determine whats right and whats wrong?? you? me? China? Daila lama? whoever has the power is "right" in this world, this is a sad fact. if tibetans extremists choose to live in dreams and hate the reality, they are the ones who are going to be stuck in pain.

  • End Colonialism Now! If you don't know right from wrong, that's your problem. In a recent international survey, a majority in every country polled (both Asian and European) responded that China is wrong on the Tibet issue.

Nothing destroys China's face as much as its attempted obliteration of Tibet. The whole world can see that, even if the communists can't.

HHDL asks only for autonomy. But I say No More Colonialism, including the Chinese one.

  • The most expensive speech ever in human history...costing EU 40 billion dollars for a short speech. everyone must listen very carefully what the monk says and enjoy every single word of it because this is once in a life time opportunity.

  • China you have failed to silence this man.

  • "he got nowhere to go in the entire asia."

Really?!! Last time I heard he lives in India, which is in Asia.

  • India says they wont allow any kind of Tibetan movements happen in India,,so what was he doing in India..may be just to trying out some curry cusine..hes still going no where.

  • who is afraid of China? I'm certainly not. Chinese are cowards. They hide behind guns and tanks. brave Tibetan freedom fighters fought with rocks and their bare hands last March.

  • I wonder if dailai lama dies one day, what EU still got to mess with china.

  • Can someone tell me what exactly do the Tibetan government want?

  • A genuine autonomy of Tibet under PRC. Means no separation no splitting, but PRC is still accusing Tibetan government as splittist.

  • can you elaborate a bit on what are they actual proposing? Autonomy or separation are just rhetorical terms

  • As the European parliament invited His Holiness again to speak about the current situation in Tibet and his political approaches there should be an awareness within the EU of her responsibility as democratic states to promote human rights and raise concern about the Tibetan issue. A clear stand on human rights and a common political line of all EU countries to engage in resolving the problem of oppression in Tibet is crucial now.

  • Exactly so, gyaltsashamba. Not only the EU but all democratic countries need to stand up and be counted. The obliteration of Tibet must not stand. The Chinese temper tantrum over HHDL meeting the French President demonstrates how important it is to show unity on this issue.

United we stand, but divided, some of us are willing to suck up to the CCP for a few yuan. Let's end that nonsense right now.

  • There seems to be a glitch in YouTube today. For some reason, comments by angry CCP loving fascists are vanishing into thin air.

My policy has always been to engage with these Sino chauvinist types, as I normally do on all my videos. But I'm feeling fed up with them today, so it's just as well the spirit of CCP intolerance has magically descended on this video to squelch their speech.

Hmm, I wonder if repeat offenders will be blocked?

  • YOU SAID

"return land property to previous aristocrats, restoring previous feudal caste system and restoring the Dalai Lama as the head of the theocracy. "

WHERE IT IS WRITTEN? DONT MAKE THINGS UP.

  • s.s. Dalai lama non si arrenda mai FREE TIBET FREE

  • Be strong Dalai Lama, we are with you.

  • Long live his holiness
