i typed oscar peterson interview and the first five seconds the interviewer talked about how oscar doesnt sing anymore.... i wasnt even aware he sung and now this. i think somewhere over the rainbow Nat King Cole and Oscar Peterson are playing a duet

i believe oscar and nat made a pledge... oscar said i wont sing anymore if you dont play.not sure thats true because as you all know nat was some player a fabulous pianist in his own right. two GIANTS.their music will live on.class is permanent. many thanks.

@exjazzbassbaz  Actually Nat king Cole was too popular vocaly to play has a pianist, but oscar was A huge fan of him. When Nat Cole died Oscar tought that some singer would make a tribute album for Nat, but no one did so he made it him-self. He recorded it and never played it again, he said he had enought problem with the piano :) But Oscar singing is very beautifull.

Just came across the fact that Mr. Peterson sang-and almost like King Cole. Thanks,I enjoyed it. Saw him here in Baltimore in the 50's at one of these -Jazz at the Philharmonic gigs. Those were the days !
