  • Very nice, well edited and very informative.

  • Hello JohnRobSur13,

This a very good question with a long and complex answer. Some of the older Japanese styles of aikido are aikikai, yoseikan, yoshinkan, shodo kan, shin shin totitus, iwama ryu, shinshin aikihuren, and plus many more independent styles and schools all over the world. With this said, we must remember a very famous quote from Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of aikido: “There is only one aikido.” Which means all aikido is from one family. Thank you so much!

  • Hello, I was just wondering how many different styles are there in the actual practice of Aikido?

  • Hi BlackShinobiShozoku,
