@kirbypowerpuff4936 You don't use a hard boiled egg. It's all science as to why the shell gets to that rubbery state, but if you hard boil the egg then it's not going to have the bouncey effect that his does.

the vinegar eats away the calcium in the egg shell therefore leaving only the eggs membrane(skin) and insides(egg whites an yolk)

we did this in 7th grade science class to simulate osmosis. something you can also do is soak the egg in water with food coloring, and after a few days the color of the egg will change to the color of the water because the colored water will pass through the "skin" of the egg. also someone soaked the egg in hand sanitizer after soaking it in vinager and colored waterand the inside of the egg turned solid.

the vinegar dissolves the shell so all is left is the yolk and the soft skin of the egg.
