  • Can anyone tell me where this song is placed in the musical?

Gavroche has his "My name's Gavroche, these are my people" he has his introduction of the Thénardiers and his comment on Javert right after "Stars", he has his "General Lamarque is dead.", he is always singing with the rebells and the folk, and at the end he has his "Good evening dear inspector", which has the same melody as this, and when he dies he is singing a reprise of the "good evening dear inspector", so where is this song?

  • where is this song in the musical? I watched the concert version, so I didn't get to hear it :( It also doesn't show his death.

  • @midnightblackfire His death occurs in a reprise of this song, a little bit alter in the show :( sad moment

  • this is like the best thing ever go les miserables

  • Man, this is such a terrible song. I'm not sure if it's the song itself or the wretched orchestrations, but it's just so out of place in the rest of the show.

  • by god i hate these kids, their damn well annoying, i was happy to see on of em die, was amusing

  • @TheLastArchdemon

really dude... really. thats kinda low

  • @coffeesiren in what way? they were annoying as hell and were only their so everyone would be against the french goverment by pulling sympathy, as though we wouldnt be on the rebels side by this point anyway *rolls eyes*

  • @TheLastArchdemon

    maybe so but still

  • @coffeesiren but still what?

  • @TheLastArchdemon

    rude i guess

  • @TheLastArchdemon dude you work in child services don't you?

  • @jacksparrowismydaddy actually im a vet

  • @TheLastArchdemon oh sorry, you just strongly resembled a cps agent.

  • @jacksparrowismydaddy Indeed, fair enough though, i can admit theres a resemblance

  • @LilWayneMetalGod Is that a joke about Justin looking about 12?

  • LOVE this song!!!!

  • im singing this in my couir

  • @LilWayneMetalGod

you're joking right? Nick jonas was better than expected as marius but not nearly as good as the 10th anniversary marius. If Justin Bieber were involved in Les Miserables he would in no way upstage javert and valjean. If Justin bieber ever sings in a version of Les Miserables I think every fan of good music, theater, and film, will die a little inside

  • what apart of the play is this from? In the 25th annivsary, this is shorten to like 4 lines after "On my own."

  • I did this for a tap recital!

  • @LilWayneMetalGod You know there already is one right????

  • We sang this song in chorus in elementary school. I didn't know it was from Les Mis until recently when I watched the 25th anniversary version and it included a super abridged version of this song.

  • Hey, if Justin is too old, then do you think Robert Madge was too old as well? In my opinion, he was too flawless to be questioned.

  • two peoples bottoms will be bitten by a flea

  • i've never heard the full version before! i think gavroche is my favorite character :)

  • Oh waaw cool! This is my first time hearing the full version. Gavroche is a great character! (:

  • This is so good, i can not believe the cut this song out of future productions!!!

Also why does it end quite so abruptly?

  • This is so good, i can not believe the cut this song out of future productions!!!

  • @LilWayneMetalGod Justin is too old to play Gavroche. Gavroche is only 10.

  • @LilWayneMetalGod

Justin Bieber should never touch a production of Les Miserables and he's way too old!

Also that twatty Jonas Brother is no where near the best Marius............have you not even heard of the great Michael Ball!?

  • I'm eleven and I've read the book. Don't you think it's appropriate?

  • @LilWayneMetalGod i think theres a slight age difference....and justin has NO experience with broadway..no offence, i loove him too, but that would not work good

  • @LilWayneMetalGod I'm sorry, but that would ruin it.

Gavroche is 10. Justin is 17.....

  • They laugh at me, these fellows, just because I am small.

They laugh at me because I'm not a hundred feet tall.

I tell 'em there's a lot to learn down here on the ground.

The world is big but lil' people turn it around.

  • Is it the accent from London?

  • @dosterian yes its from london but its more cockney than english

  • Ohh why isn't this still going? I love this.

  • full version my ass.

  • love this!

had to do a dance to this with my dance school when i was younger :)

  • @Whaffers I thought his death had a lot of meaning I mean he died trying to be like the men he wanted to prove himself and he died trying. And it shows how heartles the rivals were because they killed a little boy.

  • Gavroche shouldn't have died. His death had no significance.

  • Ahem! I'm 100% sure that this is the original london cast, not the international cast.

  • i had to sing this lol XD

  • If Gavroche lived today, they'd put him on Ritalin and tell him to sit down and do his work. I hate our society.

  • This kid needs his adenoids sorted..i hate it!

  • block in rome geat it rite

  • I just love this song!

  • what is his name in real life? and how old is he now? i absolutely love this song. when i was in teh 8th grade my choir coach asked me to read the script and then i did a test on it and then once i passed i was allowed to watch the movie. it was awesome i absolutel loved this broadway show. i want to buy it on DVD now :] does anyone know where i coould buy it?

  • @letmegoxoxo The 25th Anniversary Concert was just released on DVD today. It's most of the songs (although not this one) but it's not acted out, just sung (although brilliantly). Cameron Mackintosh is currently producing a movie version of the musical so soon you'll be able to see that! :)

  • Which play is this from (Don't say Les Miserables, I mean the date and place of performance and what not)?

  • @Anthonyk312 Its accually from one of the CD's... do u want what cast? like west end or OBC?

  • @Jackson0191 Yes, but can you just give me gavroche's name? Oh and also the date the cd was made. Thanks!

  • @Anthonyk312 This song was only ever in the Original London Cast, it was cut, and the short version of Little People was inserted later in the show, where it appears in all later recordings.

  • @thegaythespian Thank you the gay thespian.

  • @Anthonyk312 This version is from the original 1985 cast I believe.

  • I think the best part is the accent.

They laugh at me these fellas just because I am smow.

They laught at me because I'm not a hundred feet toe.

I tell 'em theres a lot to learn down 'ere on the ground.

The world is big but lit-uh people turn it around.

A wom can roll a stone.

A bee can sting a beh.

A fly can fly around versailles cos flies don't keh.

  • @Anthonyk312 can you spell or what?

  • @Sheza58 that's immitating an accent mate...

  • @n0tsolucky you're right. Sorry.

  • I love this song!!!!! My ex was Gavroche in our hs version, he wasnt as good as the original, but amazing song!! Poor lil gavroche.. hes my favorite!!

  • For a year this was my alarm to wake up in the morning. I love this song so much but now I flinch every time I hear this version!:D

  • This is a great song, I love it always

  • Wow!

This kid Ian tucker vwill turn 40 next year!

My My, how the years role by.

    Ha!

  • At The Very End :

A Bee Can Bite The Bottom Of The Pope In....

    ??

  • @Aceboyo in rome

  • @Aceboyo rome :)

  • y is thhis cut from most production i mean i'm in one this summer and we only have gavroche sing the part about not kicking a dog because it's just a pup

  • Why is this cut from most productions? It's one of my favourite songs, it's so brilliant.

  • i have to sing this in my spring show but instead of saying damn we say darn lol

  • love how it cuts off the end when it says full version

  • This is the most adorable song ever. Gavroche is absolutley amazing.

  • I love this song

We have to sing it at my Dramatic thing

    ..coz flies don't care...

    lol

    Its so catchy

  • we have to sing this song for chorus

  • There was no reason to cut this from he broadway production.

  • Gavroche has to be my favorite character!

  • I actualy got this part! However, I don't have this full version...grrr.r.......eventually..........soon..........Oh well. I still love the play, I really wishI had this song...............

  • this is a cute song. sad that he dies though =(

  • Goliath was a bruiser who was tall as the sky

But David threw a rock and gave him one in the eye

  • @packattackable its actually "But David threw a right and gave him one in the eye". Listen carefully! I know it makes less sense, but it's what he says.

  • @packattackable David threw a right as in a right hook

  • Kobayashi, where are you?!!? Sing this!!!

    Fight on!!!

  • I remember seeing the film with Gerard Depardieu on TV, and I soooo fell in love with Gavroche, he was so amazing. I remember crying a lot when he died, I was about 10/11 I think!

  • a worm can roll a stone a bee can sting a bear a fly can fly around versiles cause flies don't care a sparrow and a hat can make a happy home a flea can bite the bottom of the pope in rome

  • good evening dear inspector good evening my dear, I know this man my friends his name's inspector Javier and this only goes to show what little people can do.

  • i love this movieeee.

  • I'm gonna try out 4 this part

  • @Lazzydog00 Good luck Dude!

  • my school did this play and i tried out for gavroche but luckly i didn'y make it

  • this song is addictive is it in a movie?

  • this was the original london cast recording :)

  • ahaah thats awesome

does he go to sylvia young??

  • I learned this song in choir in fourth grade! I just found it again today :) I haven't been able to remember the tune. I just remembered the Little People theme from Fisher Price XD. It made me so frustrated.

& why does it just cut off?

  • It's not really the full version, if it cuts off before the end, is it?

  • I found out it is the real version. It's short because the kid dies before he can finish it. :(

  • this is not the part where he is shot, this is just bad editing by the poster, the whole cast sang this with gavroche when les mis first opened, they cut this number and just kept the reprise when he goes over the barricade, its a shame because it makes his later reprise make more sense

  • @jikida4 no it is not the part he he is shot, he gets shot later when he sings a reprise as he is the only person small enough to get to some supplies but he gets shot on the way back. This is him near the start telling the regulars at the inn about how being small isnt the worse thing

  • is this version in the 10th anniversary concert version?

  • NO its not they cut it short

  • @anabat1 no the 10th anniversary one was so much better

  • ... in Rome.

    Very very nice.

    Better than the french one.

    Very nice upload.

  • Don't you guys know where I can find the actual video of this song? You know, with Gavroche singing it live in the play. All I've found is other kids singing it.

    Thanks for uploading this!

  • ... Rome!

  • what else could you want from this guy? In my opinion, if your guy is so much better, he probably isn't but just elaborates more on the notes to hide his real singing voice...

  • can you put him on youtube so i can see him

  • well prove it

  • Gavroche died at the barricades. he was shot gathering ammunition from dead soldiers, and he was 10.

  • I think he was closer to 12.

  • @jemaphailure What?! Why are you people liking that!? Isn't that sad?!

  • @jemaphailure In the novel Gavroche is actually the brother of Eponine.

  • I love this song, it makes you want to stand up and start dancing ;)

I like being little, don't underestimate them ;) LMAO!

  • You know the cover of Les Mis has a picture of young Cosette, not Gavroche right? I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just curious because the first to pictures were Gavroche and then it switched to the poster. I just thought you may have thought it was Gavroche. Good video anyhow.

  • I knew it was a girl, I just got tired of looking for good pictures that I could use so I used the CD/ Poster cover.

  • @Commenter508 I used to sing this song a lot when I was a kid I heard this song when I was 7 years old from my mom's Les Miserables CD Gavroche was my favorite character I remember when I saw the original Broadway tour for my 12th birthday with my mom Les Miserables is one of my favorite musicals to this day!

  • I'm learning this song in chorus.

  • Comment removed

  • Why is this the only full version on youtube? :)

    Cool though <3

  • i love it

i have to dance to it at dancing lol

  • I love this song so much!! OMG!! <3

    ~CierraLynnW

  • I love Gavroche! I wish he hadn't died.

  • how did Gavroche die? how old was he

  • The guys on the barricades didn't have enough ammo to face the soldiers, so little Gavroche went forth and gathered ammunition from the dead soldiers. He succeded for some time, but he eventually got shot.

  • Love this song. Well done!!

  • I have never been able to find this song!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!

  • whats he singing at 1;00. i can never tell.

  • He is singing"to show what little people can do"

  • i mean right before the chorus "a *something something something*, a bee can sting a bear, a fly" etc

  • I've never read the bible but I know it is true

  • uh... i meant the "*something* can throw a stone" or something...

  • A worm can roll a stone.

A bee can sting a bear.

A fly can fly around versailles 'cos flies don't care

A sparrow in a hat, can make a happy home.

A flea can bite the bottom of the pope in rome

  • this song is dudey woohoo les misrebeles

  • I love this song. I wish the full version was always used in the show. It adds a much-needed moment of pure joy to the show. This is the original West End recording, right? So this would be Ian Tucker. Quite an hour for Ian to be the first in a long line of great Gavroches. I hope he's doing well. Good job, Ian!

  • This is the west end recording, original cast.

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I <3 this songggg!!! THANK YOU FOR POSTING IT!!!
