  • I saw Latifah back in 1989. She was like 17 and blew the doors off the place. The headliner of that show was 3rd Bass. I know what you're thinkin'. Third Who? The opening act was Digital Underground and 2Pac was runnin' around sprayin' people with champagne.

    I just realized how old I sound...Wow!

  • I can hear Naughty By Nature in there! They all must have been friends from the same hood, Vinnie from Naughty By Nature is even in the music video.

  • i feel you on that Mr. Hassen 21, it's like they dont celebrate what hip hop used to sound like and these clowns dont care to pay homage to the dope shit that started it all, i think it's because the industry is now being ran by a bunch of interns and dl thugs, lol, i remember in the 90's when it was so creative, remember "rap city" on BET and YO! MTV RAPS?, if these new kids only knew huh?

This is god damn real hip hop. Iil wang and all those other fake ass fronters need to take a history lesson. They should be ashamed of themselves for real. I know they are just trying to make a living, but kids look up to them. And what they tell the kids is "hip hop", they believe it. And what they doing ain't hip hop! It's one thing to get paid, it's another to get paid and not teach the kids about correct roots and culture

  • U.N.I.T.Y that mean's unity, You can ask somebody else or you can ask me, This rhyme is not past tense but it seem's like it's present, Chilin outside and chilin with weather, I'm back again on youtube, Freestyling in this thang cause I am cool, Were living in a world under a new rule, I know it might seem kind of crule, Hip Hop is really live, Ritchousness is an aim; so it's good to strive, So I'm a go off like this and save some time. Geesey
  • I Love The Saxophone. It Makes Me Wanna Cry Everytime I Hear It. Not Trying To Be Dramatic.

  • Wow.. Just the sound of the sax and then when the beat drops is just plain great. Yep these are Artifacts from when Rap was GOLDEN.

  • "message from the inner city" - The crusaders is the sample

  • The Best Hip Hop & R&B Producer Ever

Kier Gist... better known as Kaygee!

Love You man! thanks for all the good music that will stand the test of time. What a blessing you been to us Kaygee, watching you rise to become this Super Producer makes me feel good inside Bro!

  • Great beat!

  • Hip Hop STARTED with beats like this (life story-tellin-soul muzik)....it ENDED with this club-fake homo thug shit (cars, fake "ice", clothes and -sorry 2say,- but bitches)

  • it didnt end that way, real hip hop is still around, but what people like the most, is going to be made the most. If youre a smart artist and u want to be big, u gon give the people what they axin for. Blaim the people

  • Yeah but the reason why most people like all this garbage music is b/c the industry (a and r's, radio, tv, clubs) shoves this down the throats of people at least 1 million times to the point where they accept it. For example songs that they could play, but deem as different gets blackballed. For example, little brother had the chance to be mainstream, but BET wouldn't play their songs b/c they thought it was too intelligent. So the media tells us what people like.

  • I kindaa agree with you there but if ppl want something different they go find it. I mean its not hard at all to find out about good emcees, all you gotta do is read.

  • @MrHassen21 NO jewls on my neck..... WHY? I dont needem, i got your respect!

  • @MrHassen21 Actually hip hop did not start like that.Bro its 2010 man google that shit.peace nuff respect...

  • @megadirt

yeah, it was actually dance music

  • @MrHassen21

hip hop aint dead, just ignore the mainstream.

  • @MrHassen21

unfortunately that's the shit, that sells nowadays, it's a shame what the majority of people listens nowadays, pure bullcrap.

  • @MrHassen21

you're totally right, beats like this satisfy my soul

  • i love saxophone

  • good souls on this page!!!

  • yo where can i get this beat?

  • sometimes i wanna cry when i put songs from this era next to today's songs....idk know if we'll ever get back to when it was real

  • Probably not.

  • @abcdefghjklmnrst thats real shit!!! me too

  • I know that's right. Compared to today. It's like day and night. Well maybe this new decade will bring back the"real" hip hop and rap. ;-)

  • @abcdefghjklmnrst

I fear for the future...... (I'm only 25, was 8 when this came out)

  • @VictorVargas3185 i know right?...i'm 23 but i didn't really even find out about the rap genre period until '96-'97 (i grew up on gospel and christian rock lol)....i didn't get into true hip hop until '98-'00 and that's about where my limit is....unless it's a true hip hop artist, i can't listen to much of anything rap that came out after 1998

  • @abcdefghjklmnrst we got hope wit j cole

  • @nodcva i can't even front, idk who this but imma check him out....i'm always skeptical of new artists

  • @abcdefghjklmnrst Damn yo preach on

  • @abcdefghjklmnrst I agree... it's really sad. You have to forever keep the old school as feel good music and something you can always fall back on. This new generation has very few tracks that don't burn out right away. Very sad!!

  • @abcdefghjklmnrst ...I feel you so deeply on what you're saying. Shed a tear for the lives lost, the minds that are empty of any real knowledge of self and the time that many have wasted on chasing fulfillment in 'bitches and money', etc.

The Golden Age of Hip Hop is long gone.

  • @FateUnderground c'mon son, you know what i'm saying....besides, acting tough behind a keyboard is pretty soft in itself....and it's "you're" not "your", f.y.i.

  • @abcdefghjklmnrst Its not really a case of acting tough, but whatever im deleting my comments anyway

  • In my hood it used to be different we caused a little mischief but for the most part we listened fathers and and uncles went off to prison we know hes crazy but we still miss him I got lifted and spit it like a wiz kid twisted off of cheap OE liquid back then we still valued wisdom drifted off talkin about how it was and how it isnt the kids in my hood now are so lost they stroll off to the corner with no values and no cause it used to be him, you, and me I miss the unity.
  • Hey sensaye let me address da issue Kids with boogies in the noses A rose grows from the cement Black men look like Death The Breath of the Night is chilly Really we did lose are sense of direction h1n1 , virus, n infection infested Our stomache congested with cows flesh We out of control like a Lab rat on meth Let express how we feel Keep it real for the troops over in the battlefields...uno
  • their are very lil things in life that can make us feel one with ourselves and one with the world. and for me it's music, and the ocean. everytime i hear this song or this beat, my mind travels back in time to the good days of music and when it was ok to show love to your fellow friends and not ever really have to worry about walking down the street without getting robbed or getting killed over nothing. those days are all past us now and unfortunately now we live in a society full of negativity

  • This is when Hip Hop was at real Hip Hop. And still a smooth ass beat son.
