  • whats everyones favourite weapon? i adore the rpg personally. it is simple for you to eradicate nearly everybody by using it! my roomie calls me the noobie for using the gun but who cares. i'm somewhat new i guess! but at least i didnt need to pay for the game. i downloaded it without charge at mw2forfreeZinfo (replace Z with . ) yesterday

  • Is cedega really much better than wine? I don't mind a bit of tweaking to get the game work properly. I'm basically looking for pure performance.

I usually play games like Warcraft 3 (probably doesn't need cedega because of it's opengl support) Starcraft and soon (well...) Starcraft 2 and sometimes GTA, which is.. crap with wine.

  • I'm not sure, this might be using DirectX8.... I can't be sure though, it was a long time ago; it very well may have been using opengl.

As for Cedega, it pretty much like WINE, only it could be falling behind in development. Stick with WINE, they're based off the same code anyway.

  • dude i got a question ... do you need call of duty 1 installed in you computer for playing call of duty united offensive??? rply plz

  • Yes.

  • dude, i have cedega 7 on ubuntu 8.10 but it seems like it won't work.......i was able to install it but when I try to run it a black screen appears then it goes back to my desktop.....any suggestions?

  • Something in the settings man, I haven't used it for a while. This helps

  • thanks for the website, i'll check it out when i get home from work

  • Can you run call of duty 4 in cedega

  • I've never tried, but it does work

  • COD4 works great. But there is no punkbuster support.

  • does steam runs well with cedega?

  • I tried once, and it was working, but I wasn't able to create a account, however, there is another "Windows program/game running" software called WINE, and it runs stream perfectly, with little or no tweaking.

But yes, generally it does work with Cedega, but if you can't get it to work, then give WINE a shot.

  • lol you get pwned ha ha

  • How do the graphics look compared to windows?I saw some Cedega screenshots and they looked terrible! And btw .. how easy is it to access the emulated windows folders? In case I want to install mods :D

    Thank you.

  • I notice no difference from my windows box to this linux box. As you can see, I used a camcorder, so you can see the quality how you would see it if you were playing, so there's no question.

And it's VERY easy to access, it's all set up in your /home folder as .cedega, then from there it's like the directories from windows.

  • Whoa! Awesome! Any info on DirectX10 yet for Wine/Cedega?

  • I haven't heard a lot, but it's supposed that DX10 wont support open gl redering... but not 100%

There is some stuff going on that could bring it to OS's other then Vista, take a look here
