You don't have to pay a year, luckily. You can usually get Xbox Live Cards. 5~10$ I think, for a month, 20$ for three months, and 50$ for 12 months, plus a bonus. You can also paid by credit card, if you don't want to leave your house for that one card.

EM ye i got the game dude but lyk how do u get your own custom character coz wen i go on options and then multiplayer its lyk faded out so i cnt click on it so do u need to complete th egame to get it or do u need xbox live, if neither a answer wud be nice ta
