I have a big sheltie too. Not quite sure how tall, but I have a smallish border collie, and he's about an inch shorter than her. Beautiful dogs though :)

Hi,

A male collie will measure 51-61cm at the shoulder & females 51-56cm, compared to shelti dogs that are 37cm & bitches at 35.5cm.

So there is a big difference in height.

There are also 2 types of collies, a smooth and a rough coat whereas shelties only have 1 (the rough).

They both originate from Scotland & both classified as working dogs but generally speaking the collies are a little more subdued than the shelties (but both still need plenty of excersize).

Your Sheltie seems to be larger than standard 13''-16''. How much does it weigh? My neighbor has a female sheltie that weighs about 21 lbs approx 15'' in height. In comparison to your rough collie, the sheltie looks massive!

Hi, As I mentioned below he is a large sheltie but only just over height for a male (he is 16.5") and weighs around 26 lbs (12 kgs). The collie in this video however is well below female height. She is only 43cm tall (or 17"). She had some complications when she was born which resulted in her being so small. She is however very healthy now and is proving herself as an amazing agility dog!
