Chris is one of the most dedicated musicians I have ever met. He ALWAYS had his drum pad with him, running through his warmups or whatever. He never stops - he is the real deal, folks. He's a pretty decent guitar player, too. Oh yeah, and a hell of a nice guy.
I was chuffed that Pennie left Dillinger for Coheed, my 2 favourite bands of the time and they still are. Im proud to like 2 of the most hated bands ever, most people are like 'i hate coheed the singer sounds gay or i hate dillinger its just noise' but i totally dig both bands even though they are completely different styles. Dillinger and Coheed fans should unite!
is he going to release any side projects or be involved in anything else? I mean drum clinics are like watching the globetrotters. There's a lot a show but not much emotion or drama.

damn i just looked up to see some guy called billy rymer is the new drummer, man why cant they just stick to one! things change almost as often as football tables! I think gil sharone wasn't really suited to dillinger though, even though he was amazing i think him as a person is more of a jazz and reggae drummer maybe? he didnt come across to be a metal/hardcore kind of musician to me if that makes ANY sense at all hah
Yeah I don't know much about Rymer, but the band seems to think he's amazing from what they say in their blogs. But I certainly preferred Chris... But Gil did seem to pull it off quite well. But I'll always miss Chris and his work on Miss Machine.
yeah there's very little about rymer on the internet, he must be good though at the end of the day any drummer capable of playing TDEP has to be a very competent drummer, i've tried playing along to their albums and alot of the drumming is so tech. And yeah i totally agree with what you said about chris, he's the perfect ft for the band it sucks that he has gone. it's only ben and liam from the original line up int it?
Yeah man, Ben and Liam is all that's left of the original beast. ALTHOUGH, I do think that Dillinger could either use Liam a little more effectively and give him a little more of a chance to shine. Sure, you can hear bass sometimes, but it's nothing to rave about.
definitely! liam is amazing but he doesn't really get a chance to shine, i think there are some parts of songs where he could do more technical stuff though and he doesnt do it for some reason, maybe he keeps it more simple on purpose? as for the original lineup, i prefer dillinger now they have greg on vocals and i prefer the later music from miss machine and ire works, the songs sounded very similar to one another on the first full length album. Gotta love the cd with mike patton though!
Yeah, I think Liam has so much more to offer... In a way, I also wish he'd use his fingers instead of a pick. Just an odd preference for me. Irony Is A Dead Scene with Mike Patton was awesome, and I find it odd you like Miss Machine, as most hated it. I absolutely adored it. Miss Machine is them at their prime, I believe.
alot of people hated miss machine? thats weird cos i heard most people liked it lol, i think its amazing, the truly hardest album of them all and so well produced in my ears, however as a whole i probably prefer the latest album fir variation and experminting. great band or wat, so different. lars ulrich thinks they're awesome!
