I am not against robes! I wear robes myself sometimes. But I am against that hurry! It's true that you are playing a Toccata, but you see? It's far from perfection. Not only the missing notes, but also when touching wrong notes. You are excellent organist with brilliant skills and I am more than sure that you can do it much better.
My only comment is that you appear to be missing out the D in the opening pedal entry...?! And later the the A when it is in G Minor...! You get it right when the pedal is in octaves!
The comments on the robes... sheesh! If my memory serves me correctly, this is how most organists dress during church; along with the choir, lay ministers, acolytes etc.
Depending on the denomination, community, etc. The attire could be slightly different (i.e. different colors, patterns, it could be more 'fancy', or there could be a complete lack of robes...) It never crossed my mind that some people aren't accustomed to these robes, or at least, that they haven't seen them before... lol.
Many organists, most I've seen anyway, wear robes during services... they usually match the robes that the choir wears, and sometimes the acolytes (If the denomination in question has acolytes, that is)...
I've seen a picture of Virgil Fox in robes like this...
This robe looks very similar to the one that my teacher wears during services...
The pedal just had principal and flutes at 16' & 8' the spine tingeling sound is the Swell's 8' Trompette (Tuned to sound english) which is coupled down
Surely you mean voiced? English and French reeds have differant tongues....And if you have a Trompette in the swell box surely it should be voiced Gallicly with a lot of fire? English Trumpets tend to be less firey/brassey/free and a lot smoother.
Whoever this organist is he does a good job. Where is this church? What organ is this name, and ranks. Look like a 3 manuel? Help give us some answers FAREWAY 391. Good job!
Daniel Chorzempa's version is brilliant...

What not to wear....Any type of vestment with white gym socks. Tacky!!

Troppo veloce, è perchè tutto legato? C'è scritto proprio "staccato" nell'originale...
Il pedale è davvero imperfetto. Il pedale è legato e li lo suona staccato...tutto il contrario. E poi salta un sacco di note al pedale.

like his/her outfit. goes with the music sort of. feels like flying away if the rythm goes up a bit more.

Awsome Job, the only thing is it starts out pp not mp otherwise played very well
Reesman95 4 years ago 2
pp refers to the Swell box and it was fully closed for most of the piece. Plus the piece needs a subtle fire or it looses much of its spunk.
faraway391 4 years ago
Ya I guess it would soud pretty lame if you played iy on just strings or something
Reesman95 4 years ago
@Reesman95 And how do you propose to tell that to swell shutters sir?

Fantastic Performence, I am interested to know what Pedal stops are being used there, sounds very spine tingeling.
