  • Yes, over 30 BMI.

  • So why are so many people doing Sub Q injections? Just curious if there's potential problems with effectiveness of sub q?

  • You will get better at giving yourself the shots with practice. I went through nursing school and worked as a nurse, so I know some obese people have as much as 12 inches of fat, before you get to muscle. That is why IM injections are recommended.

  • I wish there is a doll sold for those of non-medical professionals to practice injections.

  • Google "hCG Bioavailability" and you will see the reason some people choose intramuscular injections - studies show that hCG is less available to the body's system when administered subcutaneously (esp in the obese). However, given the problematic nature of intramuscular injections, it seems much more logical to just take a higher dosage (150-175iu) subcutaneously (at least to me).

  • that's good to know, AiluMaiden! I'll google that right now. By obese, I assume you mean over 30% BMI?a
