  • Wasn't the Bowler designed for desert races EXCLUSIVELY?? Clearly, it is not a machine designed for wading! I mean, my DiscoveryI would just breeze through that little puddle, but it's got a Camel Trophy-style snorkel on;)

Botom line: don't blame the machine people, it's perfect designed for the purpose, which is: DESERT racing!!! (like in: where there's NO water?) DUH!

  • crap driving

  • Hit the water just a tad too fast, if he (or she) had slowed down a little more they would have been fine. That crossing could have driven in my bog standard Freelander without too much trouble.

  • ________/\_____\o/_______ shark attack !!!!

  • WTF?! Super weak car!!

  • just another wank driver

  • whahahahaha

  • NO chance that stream did any type of damage to the bowler. they probably stopped to check out the scenery

  • @my328ci

or the HT leads got wet?

should have fitted a diesel like an audi 4litre v8 or the tdv6 or tdv8.

  • it isnt broken, he just stopped for an unknown reason, it even moves under it's own power a little at 0:32 like he moved his foot off the clutch.

if this is not competative he could even be cooling off the engine, seriously.

also, if water 'gets in the engine' ( somehow ) it would either stop dead instantly as water is impossible to compress or the engine would likely be shattered into a million piece metal jigsaw puzzle as the water finds the weakest point to escape from.

  • Water in the engine explain the smoke rocketship

  • only thing i can think of is maybe he broke a front axle? IF indeed the rear wheels were spinning, I couldnt tell..... bowlers are legendary....

  • I doubt it's broken, my friend drove his 91' Patrol through water much deeper than this, it did have a snorkel but still, this was designed with survival in a post nuclear holocaust environment in mind, rather than a 2 grand secondhand 4x4.

  • GONE IN 37 SECONDS...LOL

  • water vs engine, water always wins

  • haha i love all the noobs that think its stuck...or destroyed. back wheels were NOT spinning and if they were the front would be spinning too because this is an AWD (all time 4wd) not a 4WD. unless something was seriously wrong with the driveline. Bowler is a god in their market. i highly doubt water at wheel height would bring down one of these tanks!

  • @VDZRIDER Yup its gonna take more than that

  • when its in water you can still hear it, plus its cold thats why there is steam effect.

  • dude what the hell the wheel is not spinning..........open your eyes......

  • It must stall cos they are 4WD unless im mistaken. cool vid tho

  • Unstoppable my sack. It got stuck in a puddle. You would think for 180 grand they would put a snorkle on it...

  • @CoolLikePenguinNuts it does have a snorkel, you just cant see it... it wasnt stuck, it was still running you could hear it.... bowler = unstoppable

  • @toadecks What were they doing? Paralell parking in a damn river? Unstoppable would mean nothing can stop said vehicle. Yet, the "unstoppable" vehicle is clearly STOPPED in this video. I didn't notice anybody scurry out of the vehicle and fill a canteen, or release a pet goldfish. Nope, this particular vehicle was indeed STOPPED MOTHER EFFING COLD! Please feel free to watch the video over and over again. You will notice the Bowler clearly STOPPING.

  • @CoolLikePenguinNuts good place to stop and roll a smoke ? I've stopped in stranger places before...

  • @CoolLikePenguinNuts point was it wasnt STUCK, there is no way in hell that machine would get STUCK in that puddle.... something failed mechanically... could have been something as simple as a wire coming off the fuel pump, but it most certainly was NOT STUCK ........ hell I drive across meaner rivers in my landy without even bothering to put it in 4wd ........ even multi-billion dollar manufacturers have unexpected MINOR technical problems, and the bowler is made by 2 brothers in a garage ...

  • @toadecks I hear your point. However, you are missing the main point here. I don't care if a minor thing failed on my Bowler. The thing still failed (better word?) in a river. Not next to it, or around it, or near it ... Nope right in the freaking middle. I use the word stuck for a multitude of offroad problems. I guess the word I should use is "fucked" The guys are fucked and their Bowler sure helped them arrive at this crossroad in life.

  • @CoolLikePenguinNuts and you are missing my point... it is 99% likely that they are just looking at a map or discussing their options.. I have done stranger things in the middle of a river in my 4wd (like ferry fuel to another 4wd who had run out in the middle of the river, and i sure as hell wasn't going to swim) .. and even if it WAS a minor technical glitch, so what?? name a vehicle that is 100% reliable!!! and even then I would say the problem was HUMAN error, not the bowlers fault...

  • @toadecks Don't pee down my back and tell me it's raining. Looking at a map???!!!! That's pretty weak c'mon, a map check? Human error is the entire point of vehicles like a bowler. They compensate for human error more than your average vehicle. That is their entire selling point. I stand by my original point. For the money one pays for a Nemesis, it should have crossed the puddle. If that was me I'd show up at the Bowler plant in my soggy socks and punch Mr. Bowler square in the nose.

  • Why would you do that !! ... Firstly the person went in fast enough to have water going in the radiator meaning no matter what it is it would flood the engine..

    Some people sometimes ... GRR

  • @desertstromer in the radiator..... sure....

    *rolls eyes*

  • he brakes n lets the car roll in the water whats the point, bowlers rock

  • did the top end crack or something? thats a big job, new pistons, rings, gaskets etc.. oh shit, would be gutted if that was me..

  • the cool of water and the hot of engine make....CRACK!!!

  • was not the cold water

  • Its cooling off, like Aboessam123 said

  • why did you stop

  • i think he is cooling off

  • I don't get it. My stock '70 Ford Bronco would cross that stream without any problem. Did something in the drive train just happen to fail at that exact moment, or is the driver cooling off?

  • man that driver must suck, or the belt must. for those of you saying the air intake is the problem, why is the engine idling? throughout the whole movie? more likely is the driver hit the brakes to brace himself for hitting the water

  • omg thats stream wudnt kill a bowler trust me those fuckers can take a beating i know ive drove 1

  • needs dual snorkels

  • FAIL £128,000 down the drain

  • i know for sure that it is not a total loss :)

  • Comment removed

  • its NOT destroyed.. he stopped in the middle for video purposes only. so all your theorys and bullshit.. and you dont have a clue. the steam is off the exhaust manifold.. probably been playing all day... it would take a hell of alot more to destroy this bowler.

  • thats exactly what i thought the water wudnt kill a bowler as easily as that, they are fooking monsters

  • i think your right even if water did go up the air intake it wouldn't stop it that fast

  • my grand cherokee can do that (just barely though)- the nemesis could own that puny puddle

  • the current is strong the vid is trying to show that the bowler doesnt even move

  • the seems to be fine to me. engine is still on, it's not moving because the brakes are on

  • B00000ring

  • pls dont tell me that the nemesis doesnt have a snorkel as standard, thats shocking lol ......such an extreme car and that was missed out!

  • all that money...and it cant even do what a shitty little jimny could do lol jk lovely motor tho

  • I've been stuck in a drowned Jimmy before... Took about a foot of water, and it only drowned about 20 feet AFTER we got back on land...

  • moron slowed down! Should have hit the gas, got some air and he would have gone straight through

  • Yeah, that's the ticket...Hit the water even faster so that he can drown the engine bay sooner. He screwed up by entering straight on among other things. Goes to show that idiots shouldn't be allowed to spend more than 10k on a car.

  • Wouldn't flood if it got out fast enough. Maybe so, but most rich people are idiots. Maybe you should remember that when you come into power

  • another example of you can design, build and provide the best kit, but put a fool behind the wheel and it all goes wrong, the car has not stalled and does not need a snorkel, just someone who knows how to drive it!

  • all the gear no idea...

  • The car didn't stall, watch again and you'll see the back wheels spinning, just got stuck

  • The car didn´t stuck, we have a second video (15 minutes later) in which you can see that the Bowler was recovered by the organization

  • @marathonrally Then post it!

  • @thegerbil123 got stuck pretty dam quik

  • worst video on youtube poor bowler nemesis

  • There's nowhere near enough water to require a snorkel (unless the air intake is in some ridiculous low spot).

He probably got water in the electronics ...

  • the hood

  • if your going through water that deep GET A SNORKLE!

  • If the Nemesis required it. Bowler would fit a SNORKEL.

  • @limegreenlambo i agree a snorkel should be fitted to the nemesis other than that its a superb machine

  • what an idiotic video

  • Nice.....I wouldve floored it, but then couldve hit the dip by the otherside, sucks that such a nice vehicle was totaled.

  • what an idiot, that car is so nice too

  • need to keep ur foot stuck in when entering water otherwise u will stall like this :P

  • either he shouldve prepared the vehicle with a snorkel or took more of a running leap instead of easing the vehicle slowly into the water... kindve deserved it

  • what a twat!!! i drive my landrover 110 in water twice as deep as that......get a snorkel!!!!

  • i wouldent do that to a £120,000 car, hope they can fix it

  • possibly a hot engine hitting very cold water, nothing can prepare for that . countires lost alot of war planes during the war that way

  • its not running, thats it being turned over on the key.

  • theyre obviously somebody who doesnt know what theyre doing... u dont try starting the vehicle while submerged in a river... once the motor had stalled they shouldve waited untill the vehicle was pulled from the river and the intake was flushed dry... trying to turn the key over while submerge in water just makes things worse for the car to the point of never starting again... well untill a motor rebuild or transplant

  • looks like the gearbox has gone or something

  • How was the engined destroyed? It still appears to be running.

  • because when a motor is submerged in water while running... the water will be inhaled through the intake making it so the fuel wont fire up the cylinders... when the motor shuts down then the exhaust also being submerged will blow its remaining bits of exhaust out... because of the exhaust pushing itll cause a vacuum effect and shoot water up the exhaust and into the cylinders/hot motor making the motor possibly sease up or it will water down the oil making the motor need a tear down and rebuild

  • also water cant be compresed so it will crack pistons/rods

  • very very true

  • if it doesnt crack pistons or conrods it will knock the timing out, which will result in bent valves and cracked pistons

this happened to me but obviously not in a bowler nemesis

  • It runs on bioethonol so it runs alot cooler than regular cars so sitting in water cant really do much damage.

  • its not that temp of the water i am getting at.

liquids cant be compressed, so if you get enough in a piston, when the piston is on its compression stroke and it cant compress the fluid it knocks the timing belt out by a tooth or 2 at a time.

now eventually when the timing is knocked so far out, the pistons will be on there way up while the valves are coming down, which could cause them to colllide ending up in bent valves or cracked pistons, which is what happened to my car.

  • Didnt really see the bonnet under for that long so I doubt it got much water in. but I know what your gettin at.

  • You get water sucked in from the air intake-not the bonnet area.

  • Have a look at the bonnet scoop. Air intake is under the bonnet.

  • The engine is mounted in the center, you swine.
