  • Hey markd248 its Max_Out from the org. Thats exactly what my max sound"ed" like. Now i have cattman headers and y combo on the DE-K.... not much louder but not as deep. I have a video of it up. Good luck with your max man!

  • thanks man, as of now im pretty done with the max and want something else to work on. I remember your max though, very nice man and im jealous you got a DEK in it.

  • does the y-pipe make much of a difference in the final sound of the exhaust? because i want a nice sound but all i can do is get a catback.

  • yes the ypipe makes a different since it opens the exhaust up more. it makes it much louder. personally Id recommend you do a ypipe first, get the performance gains and then worry about buying a catback. however if youre only interested in the sound then get the catback.

currently im running the stock muffler to quiet down the system because it was too loud for daily driving.

  • i know how much a y-pipe costs. But how much do you think installers would charge to install it? is it something most peole can do?

  • Y-pipe install was pretty easy, even with just a jack and stands. Took me about 30-40 minutes, with a friend.

If you still dont feel comfortable doing it, a shop shouldnt charge you more than one hour labor to switch it out.

  • mhm yah i got the catback and i did a y-pipe too a few months ago. MY system sounds exactly like a greddy and it kinda sucks because you can only hear it nice wen I get on it. Not at a constant speed. Thankgod its 5 speed. lol... even wen i rev it up in not gear its not that loud. U can hear a nice subtle drone and its pretty good outside but i want it to sound really mean and nasty.

  • i just want to get the muffler... obv i dont need the whole thing.

  • You won't notice power gains with just the muffler, but I guess you already have the magnaflow catback so it should match up fine. The Megan catback is a stock replacement so as long as your B-Pipe matches stock dimensions then it'll fit with the Megan muffler.

  • What model is that MEgan catback? sound awesome... hope u put up outside ones and drive bys. I wanna get something louder then my Magnaflow catback

  • It's just the megan racing N/A type catback. It MSRP's for 350, but you should be able to find it for cheaper elsewhere.

  • Damn, the good ol VQ sounds like a V8

  • hmm no wonder u asked what exhaust i have u have a maxima but... nice exhaust mine is a custom with test pipe and (wack) ebay muffler but it sounds good to me =/
