  • One more thing...I thought the soundtrack to Permanent Vacation to be absolutely brilliant. And the ominous closing seen with a riff off of Somewhere Over The Rainbow playing as the Twin Towers were fading off in the distance was uncomfortably eerie. I know it wasn't on purpose, but it was an eerie accident.

  • I'm sure glad there's some counter culture brewing in Hollywouldn't. Jim is very philosophical in his approach to film. To me his movies are more of a meditation than entertainment. Thanks for posting this.

  • neil young's music in dead man is absolutely fantastic. rza did great work for ghost dog and his cameo was fantastic. i thought the scores 4 stranger than paradise, down by law and night on earth were sorely underrated.

stranger than paradise is 1 of the best films ever made.

p.s. if you liked dead man see "el topo" from alejandro jodorowsky. another great "acid western".

  • Neil Young's music on Deadman is a great asset to the film...really sets the tone.

  • I've just seen finished watching stranger than paradise for the third time. amazing film. teh guy is a poet.

  • Jim Jarmusch is the greatest. . . . i watched all his movies, really great man.

  • Ingmar Bergman has got good music in his films. Type Ingmar...

YouTube it and you'll find out.

    Royaume de Thailande

  • have you guys seen jim sing cortez the killer with bradford coxxx? it's badass, located some where on pitchfork

  • he's cute

  • Ghost dog with RZA was awesome!

I want to watch Dead Man.

  • What Jim Jarmusch said is true, especially to me. Whenever I listen to music, ideas start coming to my head :)

  • The music can make or break a movie, it's as important as the script, acting and direction. Jarmusch is an independent film legend, love his style.

  • Jarmusch is a genius!

  • I wanna hear the story about RZA and ODB on shrooms!!!!!!

  • That he loves both Neil Young AND the RZA make him cool in my book...also a great filmaker...Stranger than Paradise is still my favourite of his films, and certainly one of the best films of the 80s...Ghost Dog, Down by Law, Dead Man, Mystery Train are not far behind, though

  • Jarmusch came to a "art" place in Santa Fe to talk about "Dead Man." He was very centered and not pretentious. I was really impressed by him.

He's an artist and he's not into hype. He shouldn't be intimidated by Neil Young.

    At all.

  • cortez the killer, he was definitely thinking of cortez the killer. and Adam was so like that with manipulative music

  • Thanks for uploading..can you upload the rest?

  • great clip. thanks

  • thank you really much for uploading this, it gives me a pretty good impression of how jim jarmush is.. i love his movies, ghost dog is one of my favourites!! dead man is amazing too, don't know, it's real(!) art man, thank you mr. jarmush!!!!!

  • You need to see Stranger than Paradise, Mystery Train, Coffee and Cigarettes, and Down By Law.
