this vid was a lifesaver! my mom recommended jolene to me to lighten my brows, but i had no concept of how it worked or how to use it. thanks and great vid! your brows look fab!
I just used this very product and technique on my brows tonight, and loved the results :) My current hair colour is copper red, and my eyebrows are just a bit too dark and ashy-toned to really look good with it. Lightening them like this worked a treat!
Thank you :) I dyed my hair blonde and I love it but I have darkkk eyebrows. I just want mine to a brown color so the contrast is less extreme. They wont go like orange will they? And I live in the US, is jolene available here also?
I see a bit of a difference....But i know the camera..isn't showing it up much...
Nice and clean job of it...Some of them i've seen...They got that stuff dropping in their eyes and everything..[which is something that would happen to me..I'm sure of it..]
thank you so much for sharing this, it helped me alot! i am extremely pale with very dark brown almost black eyebrows and they always looked so harsh :(
@dragonweengs If anything, lightening them will make the sparse bits even less noticeable as there would be less contrast between hair and skin!! Go for it:) x
I was just wondering why anyone would want to bleach their brows?
I have black hair, so my brows are black. I like my dark brows, but I was wondering why lighten them? Is it so you can draw on the shape better if you want to chance the shape from day to day?
@AngyDragonfly some people do it for that reason, but most peole do it when they lighten their hair so it matches better and isn't so harsh looking :)
@mwcarebear1984 Don't ever use box hair dye to darken your eyebrows. You need to use an eyebrow tint, most beauticians can do this for you but i'm sure you can find a place to buy it online and do it your self
@taylorhurst89 it's depends on how long you leave it on... she didn't want them to get too light, but of course someone who would want them lighter and more noticeable would leave it on longer
@taylorhurst89 the operative word being 'subtle'. If you have black hair and you go 2 shades lighter, you are likely to be the only one who notices the hair color change. Everyone, however, will notice the black eyebrows. If you lighten your brows two shades, you prevent the eyebrows from 'popping' out when people look at your face. :)
I did bleach mine a couple of times but I stopped because although I never went crazy with it my friend and my sister told me they looked weird and orangy on natural light...
I too am going to go a bit lighter with my hair colour for summer but have always been afraid to bleach my eyebrows even though many times I have wanted to. This video has been so helpful Siobhan, thank you...I'll definately be giving this a go when the hair is done! :)
@sweetfuckingchrist I'd never thought of that until you said it ... I just always had this preconcieved notion that if they came out wrong they'd be yellow!! haha
@MercedesGames Wowyour spot on, I am indeed Irish, (Northern Ireland) and so as much as there are phrases typical to us irish and very similar our accents are totally different. Siobhan has a beautiful southern irish brogue whereas I live just across the border from the south of Ireland in County Down, I would speak more with a "twang" to my accent. I've prob not described it very well!! Not sure if Siobhan would agree with my desciption! :) Very perceptive of you though .. am impressed!! :D
I do the same thing with hair dye. Years ago I dyed my hair black but it didn't look great because my eyebrows were far too pale, so the next time I did it I put some dye on with a cue tip, gently dabbed it onto my brows, brushed it in with a mascara brush and left it in for about seven minutes. The results were perfactly matching brows :D
@amyleroux1 I'm Canadian too and I can get it pretty well in any drugstore...it's easy to find and not too expensive (plus if you don't use a lot you can keep it for a long time).
The brows look great! Now I wish I had this tutorial before I lighted my brows when my hair was platinum! I was pretty freaked out the first time. That is exactly the same brand that I used. :)

IRISistibleMakeup 10 months ago
what colour does this product turn your eyebrows if you originally have thick black eyebrows (i know that time is a variable)?
raspyshiit 10 months ago
@raspyshiit It more depends on your hairs undertones. If you are dark but with red tones your brows will most likely go a reddish hue, etc. x

great vid but i think the thicker eyebrows dont do ur face justice just looks all wrong im not tryin to be mean or anythin just my opinion xx
