  • D: i clicked so i could get a better view of you and your gorgeousness :D

  • I was wondering about your hair color as I watched your latest video. Your hair looks awesome.

  • Thank you!

  • how would the color with mixed grey hair...

  • That's a good question. I'm not sure myself, but if you do find out then please share so that others will know. I hope you'll find your answer. :-)

  • I love your face and your look. You are so exotic looking! Intellectual!

  • Thank you.

  • how often do you color?

  • I used to color my locs once or twice a year, but i've stopped for now.

  • Beautiful locs :)

  • Thanks!

  • you are so beautiful and you're locs are too

    !!

  • Thank you. You are so kind.

  • dang girl.. you have a lot of locs...luv it!!!!!

  • LOL! I know and that's why I had to cut off so many of them. I just had so much hair!

  • man u got som pretty locs!!!

  • Thank you!

  • you have some amzing locs i wish mine can b like yours

  • Thank you. What kind of locs do you have and method do you use? :-)

  • Love it. I do hair as well...whenever I have dyed my hair in the past I ALSO buy my own developed and color and mix my own **** up! It places the power back into my hands! LOVE YOUR HAIR!

  • Thanks! It's much more fun when you get to mix up different colors and come up with your own cool color. More power to you!

  • You are absolutely stunning!

I hope that when I start dyeing my hair, that it will look as perfectly complementary to my skin tone as your hair complements your skin tone :3

  • Thank you, you are very kind. :-)

  • Sparkling Cherry sounds pretty!! I wana try it!

  • Go for it! It's more of a dark reddish-brown like what you see with my roots.

  • your hair is stunning

  • Thank you. :-)

  • i love your hair =)

  • Thank you!

  • Your sisterlocks are beautiful! I struggle with coloring my hair also. I usually freshen the roots and it usually blends.

  • how long did you wait until you first colored your hair?

  • I colored my hair before locking and about 5-6 months after locking. I wouldn't recommend it though because it leads to bunching and unraveling. You're better off waiting until your locs mature.

  • does dying yur hair makes it stop growing?

  • No it doesn't, but relaxing your hair will if you over process it at some point, because the damaging chemicals weaken your hair and can lead to breakage and even balding.

  • Do u use a natural dye?

  • No. I've never tried a natural dye before. Have you and if so, what was the result?

  • i love ur locs!! they are almost identical to mine except mine are not sislocs. But yea the color does look great on u, and ur locs look healthy keep it up! :)

  • Thank you!

  • Wish that I had had the same result as you when i colored my sl. My sisterlocks are 10months old. After I dyed them they got really fuzzy and dry, with alot of bunching on the ends. And nothing that I have tried has gotten the healthy look back. Im temped to cut them off and start over. Any advice.

  • Your experience is no different from mine because the same thing happened to me. The only advice I can give is to not color your locks anymore until they have matured. If you do dye them then condition them immediately after.

  • Thank you for your response. Ur locks are so beautiful I feel better that there is hope for me now :)). I am definately going to leave the dye alone until my locks completely mature.

  • I love your locs

  • Yes. I had someone start them for me, but i've been latching them myself ever since.

  • r sisterlocs hard to start by myself?or do u recommend me going to a professional.

  • Yes. If you want SLs then I would recommend having someone start them from you (because the initial process is time consuming and hard work), but you can start them yourself using different methods to achieve similar results.

  • very nice color on you! I am about to dye mine and was wondering if I should get them retightened before I color them or does it not matter?

  • I prefer to color my roots before I tighten them , but I make sure to wait until my next session in order to let my hair rest from all the processing. Personally, I don't want to weaken my hair by coloring and then tightening right away. You could also tighten and then wait a few days to color. Either way is fine.

  • God your locks are amazingly beautiful! I can't wait till my hair gets a little longer, though my locktician and others tell me to also enjoy it at this length! ;-) I just reached my first year locked and I think they are coming along nicely. Let me know what you think of them! Yours are already gorgeous and they are only going to get sooooo much prettier!

  • Thank you! Your locks look great and I can tell that they'll look even better as they continue to mature. I'm excited for you!! It's true that you should enjoy every step of your journey, because as you approach each length it's an experience in itself. I'm use to wearing short hair, but now that my locs have grown longer i'm learning how to adjust to this length and keep them out of my way with some activities. LOL!

  • Beautiful!

  • Your hair is beautiful as are you.

  • Thank you everyone!

  • U R so cute!?!

  • Oooo, your color is beautiful...accents your eyes!!

  • Hi Dewdrop, thank you for your answers (re: fuzzy locks & haircut). Especially about cutting locks at an angle, that is very helpful!

  • Hi again, more questions :-) Do your locks ever get fuzzy? If so, just wondered what you do to deal with that. Also, do you 'groom' your locks, meaning trim away hairs that stick out...?

  • My locks are always fuzzy. The only time they are not fuzzy is when I freshly tighten them, but after 2 days they go back to being fuzzy. It doesn't bother me though. I do groom my locks sometimes only because it makes my latching a little easier and decreases extra volume. My hair is already thick so I don't need to add to this volume which I already have. Good question!

  • Hello Dewdrop, great hair color! I really like your haircut as well, can you tell me about your haircutting/trimming regime?

  • I haven't cut or trimmed my hair since I shaved it off a few years ago. Once I did the big chop I never trimmed it once, so it's layered naturally this way. However, if I do end up cutting or trimming at some point, then i'll definitely let you know how I did it. :-) I read that if you trim your locks, then it's best to trim them at an angle versus straight across in order to avoid blunt ends and unraveling.

  • Good analogy LOL

    Thanks for advice :o)

  • :o(

But how will i know for sure?

  • If you are still going to your consultant, then she'll be able to tell you. If your lock feels like a thick, stiff mouse cord when squeezed and that doesn't stretch when pulled, then you'll know.

  • Hi Lady,

I'm a DIY and have been sisterlocked for exactly 4 months and i am considering coloring now. I cant wait any longer!!! I have very kinky hair and about 90% of my ends have sealed, with the exception of a few in the front. Do u think that I'd undo a lot of my locking progress if i color now? or do u suggest that i wait a twee bit longer?

  • Yes, you will definitely unravel your locks if you color now and it will retard the locking process. To be honest, you're better off waiting until your locks have fully locked.

  • Beautiful hair color. You're so gifted =)

    Be blessed...

  • the new color matches your eyes, looks nice

  • Great, and thank you!

  • nice color:) do you have any pics of your locks when you started them?

  • Thank you! Yes! I'm so glad you asked and I sent you a message.

  • Beautiful!!! I'm to scared to color =)

  • Thanks! Awe, don't be. If you really want to color your hair but you're too scared to try it yourself, then I would highly recommend going to a colorist/hair dresser. I've been doing mine for years so I pretty much know what i'm doing.

  • as always your locs look amazing, and great job with the color.

  • i love the color but what do you use to moisturize your har to stop dryness

  • Thank you! I don't moisturize my hair. LOL! I can't use any moisturizes aside from water because my scalp condition is way too sensitive for most products. My substitution is good nutrition and plenty of H20 as mentioned in my Hair Care Regiment video.

  • Beautiful hair! Love the color on you.

  • the color looks good

  • Amazing color!!

  • Love your hair color. God bless

  • I love the color I also use reddish-brown, but it doesn't look that good as your, what camera is that you are using, it's takes a great picture

  • I think that your locks look fantastic regardless of what color they are. I've always admired them too. I sent you a message about the camera. :-)

  • Very pretty! Thank you for sharing!

    Shalom & Blessings!
