  • use the cc for translation it is so funny

  • 03:10 is that SX guitar?? Plz answer!

  • @TheSpyingMan pretty sure its a blue fender strat.

  • They Said Tuner Twice!!! XD

  • Is it only me that thinks the recording from amp to computer directly, doesnt give the same sound quality? what's recommended for recording, to get good quality sound?

  • 5:01 could bring a tear to God's eye.

  • Guys, Cube 40 is better than 80 no joke! Its more expensive but the sound doesnt get better, trust me proffesionals told me this. Please thumbs up so people can read. If you dont belive do research i only want to help you

  • 0:00 « Free replay button.

  • 5:16 reminded me of pokemon hehe

  • In real life these cube 80s sound horrible. Im not exactly shure how to discribe is, they just sound bad. I guess it is ok if you are going to play scooped mids heavy metal but the clean has no warmth the amp models are just various forms of overdrives and distortion and the effects are a joke. It has probably the worst tuner i have ever used and the acoustic model sounds nothing like an acoustic guitar. Over all they just sound cheap. I would look for a higher quality alternative.

  • @00000stephen There not bad at all. The amp you saw must have been blown out or broken because all of the ones ive heard playing acoustic sounded very clean and smooth.

  • @tomerz99 no actually the amp was almost new. The acoustic model was clean and smooth it just did not sound like an acoustic guitar. I was expecting some version of the boss acoustic pedal because as i am sure you know Boss is owned by Roland. I just dont think they they are a very good value. For the money you could get a low-end tube amp that would sound much better and skip all of the lousey effects that just suck tone.

  • 3:32 How does it work having mutliple effects on each dial? Can you only have one effect from each?

  • OMG the solo from 2:20 is sick \m/

  • Whoah, that looks like Ty Tabor...

  • Just get a Peavey Vypyr instead.

  • overpriced amp

  • 2:26-2:56

The best tapping I've ever seen!

  • @tenhundredkills Look up Buckethead.

  • @krelbar I have. He's amazing. I also checked out Chris Broderick and he's got some serious skills in tapping too.

  • what kind of flying v does johnny have?

  • Its funny how the cube series i maybe the cheapest amps u can get, i have the cube 20 x and ill get the 80xl after my birthday.

  • Do someone knows what Gary plays at 5:47 ?

  • Gosh! this looper part was awesome

  • question: I'm looking to step up from my MG30DFX to a more giggable amp. Is this amp loud enough to gig? Is the sound quality good enough to make you want to gig with it? As my username implies, I like to play Rush. Thanks!

  • @123rushfan1

    ANYONE?!

  • @123rushfan1 That depends, how large of places are you gigging? For a small venue, 80 watts might do the trick for you.

  • @tenhundredkills

oops sorry for the late reply. I actually settled on buying the vox vt80+ lol. But to answer ur question, small-mid size venues will be my plan.

  • i love how he immitates the sounds with his voice when he plays :P

  • What guitar is the one that Johnny plays on the first 'Brit Combo' demo? It looks/sounds fecking awesome.

  • @notacaulkhead

    Breedlove Mark I

  • @WoWintosh Thanks :D

  • 5:46 that was pure awesomness

  • Somehow I just wonder, what if someone were to connect all the BOSS pedals to it and use those pedals to replace those built-in effects. I've tried plugging in some BOSS pedals into a Jazz Chorus 120, and I can seriously say that its awesome! Much better than me plugging my BOSS pedals into a Laney tube amp that is of equal power.

  • im thinking of getting this or a fender mustang II

    any1 help?

  • @00ASSASSINATION i used to play a cube 30 and now I have a mustang I for practice.... theyre both awesome in their own way... mustangs clean sounds are amazing and distortions... well you wont find as many as rolands but theyre pretty distinct and I like mustangs better cause they sound "overdrived". while rolands sounds more like a marshall / mesa distortion... pure distortions. if youre also considering price... go with the mustang... a lot more cheap for a pretty similar quality

  • @thiagomassara :O woa thanks for the help :D

cs i have a cheap stagg that ive been playing for 3 years and its well....crap

im gunna go with that mustang then cs i need a better clean tone becase i prefer pedals to multi fx and im put off the Marshall MG because its clean is ok but distortion is messy

  • At 5:50 it really rocks but I dont really like the blues rock stuff they play before its too much pop and ALL the videos are like that ?!? I like this style but its just too much XD

  • what is black bar on johnny's suhr strat placed before the floyd rose trem and on the blue strat too? what is it used for?

  • @bklixuz

That black bar is a synthesizer pickup.

  • 2 questions is the footswitch included? and second is it battery powered?

  • @aapjesmaker It plugs into the wall.

  • @MitchRulzWorld i was talking about the footswitch

  • I lol'd as he plays the blues on the V, then decides to whip out the strat... I thought it was funny...

  • Reincom is right, he's not even connected to the amp, seriously?

  • what is the v model he is using? its really nice

  • 2:26 cool

  • they should make Tube Cube (would be a good name :P).

if solid state cube sound better than line 6 spider, they should sound better than spider valve :OO

  • i put this amp in lay away and its $400

  • They have not been connected to the amplifler!!!!

  • @Reincorn yeah wtf is up with that!?!?

  • @Reincorn I think it's connected by the footswitch input in the back.

  • Whats that he plays at 6:41?

  • Johnny DeMarco is an amazing very versatile guitarist, and the guys at Roland are GENIUSES.

  • This amp is beatiful, the channels are insane,,,,,,, i luve blues sound i get the rock sounds,

if u have 2 nots or 4 like the les paul, sg, es, ibanez, gretsch. tele,, i dont now about the strat, but have the amp on high volum and have the guitar on low ( i used most 1) because when the guitar is on high, u will get more crunch in the sound, but when the sound is low like 1 u, will get more clean sound, ANF THOSE HO DONT BELIVE ME TRY IT !!!!!

  • i wonder there was a 200watt cube

  • I don't understand, I have the cube 80X too, but I can't even get close to his sounds, is it because I have a cheap ibanez grg170?

  • @DaanOnderwater...... NO, it is the knowledge and playing skills Johnny has to get the sounds he wants by adjusting the amp. That comes with experience and knowledge of your gear. I have a Roland Cube 30 that sounds just like him on the Cube 80X! Keep tweaking your settings and you'll get it. Roland gear kicks ass! The people pissing, moaning and putting down Roland gear is usually inexperienced players that think the equipment will magically make them sound great! Rock on!!!

  • roland and line 6 suck, i wish i had $650, i'm definetly getting a peavey vypyr tube 120.

  • This amp sounds just as bad as a Line 6.....wait nothing sounds as bad as a line 6. But this amp is pretty crappy sounding, I'll take the Peavey Vypyr any day of the week.

  • What kind of guitars is he using?

  • gotta love ibanez

  • This model is realy, realy good for clean sounds, an it has very nice effects built in. But distortion chanel sucks ass.

  • @stucak88

I think the only negative of this amp is that the chorus is a little cheesy. The dirt channel sounds killer. I think the tweed is best for rock and the classic stack is best fr metal.

  • It would be really nice if the amp was actually plugged in. Props to DeMarco for being able to play the same thing without actaully listening to his playing.

  • what a song on 5:48

  • That yellowish gold fender looks terrible. The Humbucker looks way 2 close to the bridge

  • @Phishboy26 it's a pickup-like thing...

  • @Phishboy26

The yellowish gold is commonly known as vintage white. It can also be an aged olympic white, at least according to fender. Speaking of which, it is obviously a suhr classic. Lastly, the humbucker looks too close to the bridge because of the extra pickup. since Johnny uses the gr-20 in some of these videos I'm guessing it's a roland gk-3 pickup.

  • this one or peavey bandit 112?

  • The tone snobs posting on this video really make me laugh. This amp sounds better than anything else for bedroom use, and that's what it was designed for. Valve amps at these volumes sound horrible.

Fact is that if you did a blind test between this amp, and an all valve amp with similar settings, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

  • @Leviskardsen even the "snobest" of the snobs would admit that this is the perfect bedroom amp. And they all know tube amps are for gigs

  • Johnny DeMarco is a terrific player, but when he plays his face looks sooooooo retarded.

  • the classic stack solo is so nice :D

  • Man, is Johnny an awesome guitar player or what?! I love the guy's playing!!

  • Can anyone tell me what song is at 8:00 ?

  • Sounds digital...cause it IS digital! Sorry Roland/Boss...I'm into tube amps and using stompboxes for effects.

  • yeah

  • Too bad for you.

  • So you're saying I'm unlucky that I like real equipment? Don't make me laugh!

  • I'm not saying tube amps are bad. I'm just saying too bad for you that you do not like this amp.

  • Oh...I still don't like it though...I'll stick to my Blues Junior.

  • @Ilovemyfender2 Your Idea of "Real equipment" is an amp that is grossly overpriced with mediocre sound? Nao ways man, Im all for the big Tube amps and im going to get a Mesa Triple Rectifier still, but till I start gigging big time im sticking with my beautifull Roland Cube 80X... Pared with my Boss ME-70 I can get super high gain distortions that are also smooth and dynamic... Perfect for medium gigs and practicing....

  • @thesouthafricanguy If super high-gain crunch is what you're going for, then digital equipment is perfect, because brands like line 6 and Boss (roland) can give you that sort of sound. But I usually go for a nice clean sound with a good overdrive or fuzz pedal for distortion. That's why I use a fender blues junior, it has a great sound, and takes pedals well. I just prefer separate effects that i can stomp, not built in digital effects to the amp.

  • @Ilovemyfender2 No I do understand man :) We both play different things and for the High Gain metal thing the Cube 80X is perfect... For Rich crunchy tones for blues and such, maybe not... Thats what my last comment failed to put across... My arguement is COMPLETELY from my perspective... Peace man... Keep playing.

  • Sounds like a really good amp. Let's say that I would play on the JC-clean with a lot of reverb and some chorus and then switch to, let's say the R-fier mode. Will the effects still be active then?

  • Yes, and you can buy a seperate pedal for the effects only if you want.

  • @thomson125 depends, if u want them on they will be on if u "channel switch" .. and if u dont want them on.. save a preset of just r-fier without chorus and reverb in the "memory" function.. and switch that on instead of channel switching.. u get only the distortion without efx

  • Can anyone tell me what is the song at 2:20 to 5:40?

    Thanks

  • I just traded in my 15 year old Peavey Step Chorus 212 for a Cube 80X and I absolutely love it! I purchased my Cube 80 for the price of a Cube 30... with the trade-in.

My Peavey, with its two 12-inch scorpion speakers, weighed a ton! Not only does the Cube 80 have great effects, its single 12-inch speaker sounds every bit as rich as my Peavey. The best part is that it is nice and compact and easy to transport. Plus, can I plug in my iPod! Can't wait to tinker with my new toy!

  • garys lost wieght and he's lost hair!

  • Can anyone tell me what scales johnny uses at 5:00 to 5:40

  • It's probably something that they wrote for the purpose of this demo.

  • good help

  • a peavey vypyr tube would easily slay this..

  • and how much does it cost?! a fucken small fortune... Id rather and am doing this method rather, get this amp, which i got and it blows everything away and buy a fucken good guitar, lik the one im buying (Jackson RR24)

  • no it doesnt cost a fortune hehe, search for some info to it and ull see,but well this is a great amp too anyways!

  • I have a vypyr 15 and the soud is horrible dude ! hahahaha it's cheap made if you drop it it blows !!! loool

    Get a marshall !

  • oh,well yes i agree the low wattage vypyrs rent good, but the tube nes are good believe me!and mrshalls are good only tubed the ss ones suck ass!

  • i got a roland 25 :3

  • a 20X i mean -.- my bad :3

  • 5:47-6:11

If that was a known song I must know what it is, and by whom.

  • From 7:25 to 7:26, what's that sound ? Is it a sustainer ? xD

  • Most likely a flanger

but there could be a chanceit is a Phaser

  • Thank you ^^

  • curly head man have million lick

  • I was thinking the same thing.

  • That 6 finger tapping is fucking insane! i have to get this amp

  • i noe that dude should be in a god band not testin fer roland

  • He has his own band with his brother.

  • Comment removed

  • how much

  • 400 $

  • i love it !

  • Roland makes the best solid state amps in my opinion.

  • imagine how nice their tube amps would sound!

  • @GuitarBrotha a Roland Tube-Cube...

  • @GuitarBrotha like shit cuz there is not such thing

  • Cool Johnny!

  • btw gary's flanger demo sounded like ass.

  • i love how johnny can play any style. and be god at it.
