Hello, I actually did not do this video, almost home ohio gave me the video to post. we do have collies, and i'll ask to see if anyone knows the answers to your questions. But my opinion, i wouldn't worry about it. Dogs do produce some oil, that is important for them to have. If nothing comes out with a brush, then combing is not the problem. if you feel like she is very greasy, i'd give her a bath and use a mild shampoo. i read 2 baths a year for a dog is healthy,no more.
Hi, I know its been a while since u posted this vid. im having trouble with my sable, her brush will not go thru her coat properly, she has a good outer coat but her loose undercoat is quite greasy. Its not coming away with a comb, brush or even a slicker. Do u have any advice? I dont want 2 pull 2 much as her skin seems thin but at the same time I want 2 get this fur groomed. Shes 1yr old. Also does flea treatment on the neck do something to the whole of the skin 2 make the undercoat like this?
Hi, I'm not sure what online store. If I find out, I'll let you know. I will say, from my experience, the ferminator is good for undercoat. and the brush that looks like a rake. and for the top layer, just any brush works fine. I don't like the sharp one that pull the hair, not worth it.
the rescue group we belong to, almost home ohio, did this video. i'll mention about the ears and feet. someone did mention taking conditions and rubbing that in untangles the hair.
@vickyabrown... I like the comment on Skin So Soft! I will try that with my collies. I have one with flaky skin no matter what I do. Your mother commented on coat types and colour. I find that my blue merle has a coarser coat but never seems to hold dirt! she always stays clean! and one of my sables with the flaky skin actually has an oily coat. I have heard that personalities are different depending on coat colour..What do you think? any truth in that? I would like to know...Valerie
Thank you sooo much for this video and GREAT explanations! I am a new Sheltie owner, but can apply the same techniques! Could you please, please, PLEASE do one about how to trim around the ears and feet?
