If they were legal police would have much more time to do 'real" things (& the jail pop. wouldn't be so much of a problem). I personaly do not agree with some of those choices, but right now it IS the law & if you are an inforcer of the law, looking the other way can spiral out of control with serious consequences & the more you do something, the easier it gets.

hmm you walk up to a police officer with a shirt that basically says "cop's suck", you film them hoping to get them to do something wrong, then you wonder why they are suspicious of you (we won't even go into the ammo you failed to explain). Why not film them when they have to perform CPR on someone until an ambulance arrives. Or be the first ones to find the dead bloated body of an elderly person (it's not a pretty sight).

Not to mention, it was only 4 degrees out that night, and the trooper ended up in the hospital with hypothermia. Lets not forgot about the countless number of police officers, state troopers, and deputies that have risked there life running into burning buildings, jumping in freezing water or a burning vehicle. Your soul purpose is to go out and find minor things that cops are doing that you think is unconstitutional. In my local area just two months ago, a girl crashed her car into a large river. A state trooper was the first on scene. Without hesitation he threw off his gun belt and jumped in, and saved the 17 yr old's life. Do a story on that!

that's really too bad man....i'm finishing my criminial justice major here soon and i'll be joining the police academy next year. i've wanted to be a cop for as long as i can remember and one of the main reasons i want to do it is to bring a fraction of good faith back to the criminal justice system. the way i see it, if i'm an officer, that's one less dick cop on the streets right? anyway good luck to you guys in everything you do and keep standing up for what you believe in.

I think some commentors may be missing some points here.

A lot of this has to do with the attitudes of government officials. They act as if they were parental types lording over a bunch of cattle, rather than public servants employed by free people.

There are some narrow legal issues here. Did they arbitrarily forbid filming off the top of their heads -- and is this improper? Even if it was a written policy, it could still be challenged as improper. There is also the matter... [continued]

Further evidence that you are in over your heads in terms of your understanding of the law is how you cited the signs on the wall and what some pamphlet said or did not say about recording devices. That doesn't matter once you have been told not to record.

That is like saying that someone cannot verbally tell you to leave their property if they have not posted a no trespassing sign. Of course, sign or no sign, they can tell you to leave and then you must leave or you will be trespassing.

Trumped up bogus charges. The Police seem to have committed all the crimes. People need to get a better understanding of Law and how Courts work.
