I finished the snes version of this game when i was small, but i cant remember this level at all. All i remember is the first level, the carnival, the desert one and the space one.
I've never seen the SNES version so I don't know how much different it is. I'm getting more and more tempted by the day to just buy a new SNES off Ebay.... This game though has 16 levels. Each world, except the last, has 3 levels (the last has just one). The worlds are, in order: village, fair, desert, river, forest, then space. You'll see all of these in this video (it's segmented into 17 segments (this is segment 11)). I'm listening to the music of the desert world as I type this.
After watching your forest videos i realise that i know that tune somehow, and i remember some of the enemies so I guess that must have been in the snes version as well. I also remember in the snes version it gives you a password at the end of every stage, except before the space one, so when i was trying to beat the space level i had to beat the forest levels first every time. Rather annoying, but explains why i remember the song so clearly. Keep up the commentary videos.
In order of best to worst for the game's music, it's: river, desert (after stopping the train), forest, village, space, fair, then desert (on the train). The river one, with an estimated 1,000,000 to 1,300,000 plays is the record-holder for the most number of plays while the highest-liked desert one has an estimated 350,000 to 650,000 plays, essentially 3 years' consecutive play for these, but spread out over almost 15 years, most of which during the first 5 or 6 years.
It's the song with 1,000,000 to 1,300,000 plays, the current record-holder for total plays. I don't know its real name, but I call it "Out Where the Lake Is". I thought the water below, at the time I got the song on tape recorders, was a lake, but it's actually a river and I didn't know that for several years. Play it at 68 to 78% true speed and, to me, it sounds the best. The bass is my favorite part. I'd love to hear the SNES version of this song.
well I say so because I already lost many lives so when I got to that level I didnt have anymore lives to keep going and have to start all over again I always got really angry when I lost in thatr level and have to start everything damn
When I first played, I used the log raft and just kept riding it all the way through. Perhaps this could help. You'll still have a few enemies to deal with. The eels are the most troublesome - get them when away from the log raft or while on an island. The upper routes are more challenging as one slip-up is enough to cause a lot of problems. You might also want to try pausing - it works around the human reaction time and timing limitations more than 5 times over.
You don't die immediately upon reaching this level (assuming you're referring to level 10 or 11). Just avoid the water (river) and especially the water slides and you should be fine. This world is the second hardest - level 16 is the hardest.
Yes. I would like to try the SNES version and see how much different it is from the only version I know about - the Genesis version. First though, finding my SNES is necessary. Find it and you'll see videos of Super Mario World, especially of an interesting bug I found years ago.
I've been a fan of Bubsy ever since this game was released, around 1994. I know the game so well, one of the reasons for having over 60 lives by this point.
Bubsy is one sexy bobcat.

That had to be luck. Also, didn't you last leave the water lowered?
4:54
Once again, don't these switches lower the water (5:30)?
FateJHedgehog 1 year ago
Only one of the switches lowers the water. The extras later on only provide extra time.

No kidding - 1 to 1.3 million plays of it over my life time sure says a lot.

Wow, this takes me back, I didn't realise this level was this far into the game though. Your OCD is inspiring.
