can you disprove that he is from the future? yes, your mother gave birth to you.. i love kaku i just kinda scratched my head at that.. obviously you can prove that you're not from the future :/
@408DjBigC408 i'll play devil's advocate here. what exactly does giving birth have to do with being from the future? are you saying we stop giving birth in the future?
This guy brought up a great point with the education aspect... i just remember last year in my physics class -___- it was a lot of math problems but i was never really told why they were important. It was just a race to remember the equations in time for the test. Science and pretty much any academic subject are best learned out of natural curiosity and observation.
6:41 exactly the reason why I've always loved Star Trek, although I can not say much about Star Wars (haven't seen any of them from beginning to end), I've seen Flash (like 20 years ago) it's cool and all, but Star Trek is the deep stuff, food for thought.
He's totally right about the educational system. I always loved science because of "Beakman's World' in my child days, in secondary school science had so much for us to just memorize that the subject went from favourite to most hated subject. Me and physics turned into a Hitler-jew situation. So I changed to all economics/accounting subjects when it came to pick subjects. Now Kaku's got me interested in science (physics) again. Got my curiosity back..Fair enough to say Michio Kaku saves lives!
I did notice that he touches the side of his nose at 5:26. So, he may not be entirely truthful about what he was saying at that moment. According to micro-expressions.
A moral problem arises with Kaku's idea of a chip in the brain of a fully intelligent, living, evolving being, created by us or not. This idea that we can take life that we create is primitive and may or may not pass onto self-evolving AI. I believe that self-evolving AI (call me an optommist) will recognize the value of all life and be curious about it. But there may be some conflict, as with all life. Perhaps chips for all of us wouldn't be a bad thing, eh?
When im in school i learn everything in my science text book and ask why, teacher would say u don't need anymore than this to pass the exams. If u dont understand just remember it by hard.
@gg2000gg2000, why sell yourself short? As Jaque Fresco put it, (and I'm paraphrasing) "Intelligent is completely relative" people are geniuses are different things, Joe Rogan said that as well. I'm very intelligent when it comes to creative writing, boxing, and fight science. I'm more of a cheerleader for science in many areas, but I read the books these guys write and gain enough of an understand. To me, intelligence is imagination and ambition. But it can also be physical reactions.
@Jose41432 I completely agree, education is the worse, if you actually flip through your textbook there's some awesome shit and they only teach the boring blah blah blah memorize stuff. I HAVE THE WORST MEMORY AND LOVE SCIENCE.
You rock Michio Kaku and science rocks, but school is really boring in science because what you said and I learn more science then at school. I am an 8th grader and I think school needs to change how they teach.
A powerful enough nuclear blast will fry the flesh of any human, and we're not built with nuclear shielding. There are also a million other ways to kill us - likely more ways than there are to kill a robot, in fact. So what's going to stop the robots from killing us before we wipe every last one out with EMPs?
A powerful enough electro-magnetic pulse will fry the electronics in any machine, including robots, so we just have to make them without EMI shielding. Otherwise a very good interview
@ryancouture It's true. I've watched a lot of videos which Dr. Kaku repeats almost the same sentences over and over,... although these are all wise insights, after a while I can't stop wondering isn't this a bit boring for a person as smart as he is? However, no matter what his motivation to do so, I am still very thankful because at least Dr. Kaku are willing to talk in a simple way for we ordinary minds.
he has a very good way of explaining the relationship between physicists and engineers. One side has intelligence to create "useless" stuff, and the other has intelligence to understand it and think how to apply it to humanity and better society.
by the way, to the other responders who probably found this by searching via physics and his name, i found it searching via engineering... engineers are still cooler my friends! :)
@Animalcorssingfan yes god made everything, but there is something else also made the bigbang .. thats when science come and solve this thing .. there is the parallel universe theory that explains the bigbang .. the science should be asking why that happened and how .. if just believe it was from god and didn't search and wonder the science wouldn't be here .. we would be thousnds of years back!
science illegal haha thats funny..... mr. kaku has inspired me to look into science a lot more it is so interesting and space is the most interesting thing that exists to me.
Also, this is addressed to Dr. Kakutanu: it's the BBC documentaries, just like the ones YOU make, that re-create that spark of curiosity after the high school years. That's what happened to me anyways, which is why I'm going to study quantum mechanics.
I have really big issues with government funding of science. Especially military funding. I wish more scientists and engineers would speak out against this theft.
It's like Physicist are the posts and the engineers are the share button.
