@XxStillxxAlivexX1 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that metal gear 2 and metal gear solid have so many similarities that some fans think of mgs as somewhat of a remake of mg2. If you want a reference I think it was mentioned in Gametrailers's retrospective vid of the mgs series but I could be wrong =/

MGS is pretty much the 3D version of Metal Gear 2 and bits of 1 combined. Infiltrating in through air ducts, into a tank hanger, the lifts, using a remote controlled missile to destroy an electric floor power supply, being chased up a spiral staircase etc etc : )

Sorry I was a little definite in my argument - I merely meant that the two games are very similar and a lot of the events/ideas were taken from MG2 into MGS; the manual for MGS even says something along the lines of "it was only with the power of the playstation that Kojima's dream could be realised".

The spiral staircase bit is when you're running to the top of comm tower A with alerts, before you fight the Hind D.

Also, the stuff is present on the sequels because the Plant chapter of MGS2 is meant to be a reenactment of MGS as a form of "training" for Arsenal Gear's AI.

And no it's not technically a spiral staircase but it was far easier than saying "a set of staircases at regular 90degree intervals". This has nothing to do with the video however

About the Subsistence (PS2) version, I don't know of any save points. The original version (be it emulated) has the possibility to save anywhere using the F5 key. It draws up a menu to save to cassette tape (be it emulated); don't forget that this was before floppy discs were a commodity.

You will always start at the last elevator you came through, though.
