I'm wondering if it would be better off replacing the whole 45 degree head with the 90 degree one from a 4 3B. I don't know if that would work. Im assuming the main rotor shaft wouldn't have changed size at all.
@groovetraindisco I have done that and it does work great. You will have a 4#3 on a CB100 body. It will fly and handle just like the 4#3B does. Plus you will have a dual brushless heli with a great gyro!
The main rotor shaft is the same. You do have to mod the servo holder because the angle of the 4#3 swash is different then the CB100 swash.
I have a post on rcgroups with pictures on this conversion. If you want I can PM
you the link. YouTube doesn't let us insert web links...
@CX2Pilot That would be great if you could post that link on to me. The stability of the CB100 is good in some respects for beginners but I do like the movement of the 4 3B.
@3255959 It makes it very very responsive (too much without large flybar weights) but it doesn't handle well at all in turns. Hover, forward, backward, sideways are fine.
Excellent Mod! My question is one of balance - wouldn't you want to make the flybar balanced? I see that the modded end is heavier because it drops like a seesaw. Does this uneven weight cause vibrations of any type? What makes it more responsive - more or less weight?
Isn't that counter intuitive? Walkera designed the CB100 to be MORE stable and less twitchy than the 4#3B so why would you want it to be like the older heli??? Why not just buy the older version?
I do have both the CB100 and 4#3B. The CB100is to easy to fly and the 4#3B hard to fly (but I can fly it OK). Making the CB100 more responsive is a nice in between both helicopters.
have you tried angling the pitch of the flybars? i just tried this on the 4#3B and it made a HUGE difference. Much more stable and rock solid hover. Wonder how it would work on the mod'ed CB100. nice job Tom!!
I haven't tried it but sounds likes it works pretty good. Saw your post on rcgroups.
It should work well on the mod'ed CB100 also.
Went back to light flybar weights and moved in as the paddles on the 45 degree flybar don't work well at all durning turns but are fine in FFF and hover.
can u video it flying with this mod? I plan to get the CB100 so Im very curious after getting to fly it better would defiantly look in to doing this mod for better response.
I think the flybar paddles make it more responsive. It sure does with them on the CB100 as I found out. They really wanted the CB100 to be tame and easy to fly compared to the 4#3 so they went with flybar weights instead. Plus I don't know if the flybar paddles will work correctly with the 45 degree flybar even though it worked for me.
I know it"s easy as 1-2-3 but , WHAT WE NEED TO SEE HOW IT FLY--- I THINK YOU FORGET THAT PART!!!!!

I do have a video of it.

@groovetraindisco I sent you the links. I agree the CB100 is good for beginners but the 4#3B has much better and more responsive movements.

How did this mod change the way the cb 100 flys?

It is very stable and handles like stock.

This is to make it more stable? I'm trying to get more reaction from my cyclic as my cb100 is way too docile.

What is the purpose of this mod???
FishingFanboy 2 years ago
To make the heli more responsive, agile, quicker to stick inputs like the 4#3 helicopter.

sorry mate it looks cool, i have a 4 3b with flybar padles (obviously) what are the advantages of them, y us the cb100 shiped without them? cheers

so it will be less stable?
YourFriendlyMe 2 years ago
To me it is as stable as stock with the heavy weights and flybar paddles. Lighter weights will make it less stable for sure...
CX2Pilot 2 years ago
so whats the point of the flybars

I sent you a PM with the answer as youtube won't let us insert links into this.

Where did you get the flybar wieghts?
malcr001 2 years ago
They are Blade CP flybar weights. There are too heavy so I am looking for lighter ones...
