VIVA CHILE , ABAJO LOS CHARLATANES MENTIROSOS POLITIKEROS , MIL VESES FALSOS , MIENTEN PORQUE LES COMVIENE , A VER SI CONSIGUEN UN PUESTO EN LA BUROCRACIA PUBLICA
That is funny. All that did not stop the Soviets from playing the first game against Chile in Moscow which ended in a 0-0 draw. The Soviets knew they had to win in Chile after not having been able to do so at home and because they felt they would lose to Chile in Santiago; they used the political excuse not to play this game.
Allende did not win the election out right, he got less than 50% of the vote and their should have been a run-off election but there was not. Allende also kept changing the constitution everyday to give himself more power and the truth is his socialist ideas were simply failing the people of Chile. Another truth about Allende is that he committed suicide with a machine gun he got from Castro. This even his own wife confirmed.
@sartana66 I guess Cuba and North Korea benefit Wall Street a great deal ... (lol) ridiculous, and the Bolsheviks received one million dollar only (great help) and yeah I read Antony Sutton's book too
Allende received more than a 100 million plus all the fire arms from Cuba. The USSR never did anything for Chile and their puppet Allende was removed rightfully, he did the country a favour by taking his own life.
@sartana66 I'm sorry but my sources are very reliable and they mention what Allende did and what caused the coup. The coup in Chile was coming with or without the USA every General agrees that it was unavoidable especially with Allende arming Marxist guerrillas with assault rifles from Cuba. Pinochet never returned the mining industry in Chile to the USA either. So they did everything for nothing? The motto was simple Chile was NOT gonna be another Soviet colony in Latin America.
VIVA ALLENDE!!
the two top comments probably posted by idiot anti-communists, you have COMPLETLY missed the point, who cares if those things happened under Allende? He was a good man, a hero, and an inspiration, and Pinochet, tortured and killed innocent people, seriously, the US are the most evil country in the world, and the fact that anyone could stand up for them still, or talk shit bout Allende, is quite frankly disturbing.
The fact that he committed suicide does not mean he is cowardly. He would probably have been tortured along with Pinochet's other political prisoners and killed by firing squad. That way he had is dignity.
Just because you don't like his politics doesn't mean that Pinochet's coup were justified. Especially since Allende was a democratically visionary trying to help the people of Chile.
@ComradeAH1994 Allende would "probably" have been tortured?! Probably???
Can you name another high ranked politician in his cabinet that was "tortured"? You will have a hard time finding one. Allende wasnt trying to help the people of Chile when a 64% of the voting populating voted against him, he was just a puppet paid by the Soviets. The coup was totally justified, it was successful, less people died than any other coup in the area and Chile is now doing great. Job well done.
Maybe the Cubans foresaw what would happen and that's why they sent him arms? Afterall, it wouldn't be the first time a democratic government was overthrown, especially one that is led by a marxist.
As for his nationalization of companies, they were foreign owned anyway. What is wrong with taking wealth from foreign capitalists and giving it back to the people of the country.
I will admit that I don't know much about the Chilean constitution, so maybe he did violate parts of it. But at least he wasn't a dictator, and constitutions are not perfect documents. Again, you may be right about the USSR funding his election, but at least they did not do what America does and overthrow left-wing democratic governments :D (continues in next post)
@ComradeAH1994 Was Pinochet a good leader? He's what Chile got as a consequence of all the things Allende did and tried to do. Allende wasnt a dictator but by violating the constitution he was slowly becoming one. The USSR wanted Allende to use violence a mean to control the Chilean people this is why they were sending so many weapons. It wouldnt be the first time a Marxist would stay in power for a very long period of time
Allende took companies from the Chileans themselves too
Viva Allende. 1 of my heroes. Proof that democracy means nothing to the US and the ruling classes/corporations. The very transnational corporations he warned against in 1972 to the UN are still the 1s dictating the flow of the world, and most US foreign policy. Whether an economic democrat(aka socialist) gains power through a popular election(Ortega, Allende, Chavez) or a coup(Castro) the CEOs and US government will still try to undermine them.
@dannyzee4 If bringing arms from Cuba was OK then why did they have to hide it? Why did they have to tell the country that those packages had "art pieces" in them? I suggest you read about the scandal first then comment. Bringing arms from Cuba to Chile to arm urban Marxist guerrillas was (and still is) illegal. Chilean farm owners and land owners received no compensation and these very same Chileans were being killed in the usurpation of their properties and land.
@mcproductions91 Don't be ignorant the extreme poverty in Chile is the lowest in latin America at the moment, less than 3% Piñera is actually solving the education problem that the Socialist in Chile could never fix (corrupted) and Mapuches were marginalized by the Socialist too
By better than ever I meant standard of living (1st in Latin America) Corruption (The least corrupted country in Latin America) And all around the country making the most progress in the region
@mcproductions91 It doesn't make him a hero either. There's a reason why everything happened. In conclusion Chile is now better than it ever was before and that's enough justification.
@mcproductions91 Dr. Francisco Etxheberría, a forensic expert appointed by the Allende family said “We are in a position to assure that this was a violent death that was suicidal in nature, of that we have absolutely no doubt.”
Isabel Allende, the President's daughter, said that the suicide version is the correct one
A scientific autopsy was performed in 2011 and the autopsy team delivered a unanimous finding that Allende committed suicide
@mcproductions91 Yet 4 autopsies say that he killed himself. Even the most recent one done about 4 months ago said he committed suicide. I rest my case.
@BaronVonAlucard money that Allende got from the USSR is dwarfed compared to the money the CIA fed his opposition/spent on smear campaigns against his.
He did not violate the constitution-ironically Pinochet did in order to make himself immune from prosecution. The "terrorist" claim is baseless so I will ignore that. There was nothing illegal about arms from Cuba to Chile....how is that illegal? The lack of compensation to foreign land and copper companies was because they had excess profits
@dannyzee4 Allende was a KGB informant since the 50s and without the money from the Soviets Allende would've never won. Please tell me how much money did Alessandri's campaign received from the CIA. As I mentioned before all the violations of the constitution by Allende can be found in the famous Chamber of Deputies' Resolution of August 22nd so read up! And the terrorism is baseless? Dozens of terrorist groups with thousands of members but this is baseless? Bad joke? Get real.
I also LOVED when Canada decided to keep Stephen Harper as their PM a few months ago.
Are you gonna live pissed off forevermore? That's sad. I am extremely happy with the Chile of today, recently declared the country with the best standard of living in Latin America.
@spanishknight Thanks you for your personal threat, the lowest form of rebuttal.
I've seen the illogical comments sure. Nothing I've mentioned is a lie, But for some reason the left in Chile wants to hide the history between 1965 and 1973 everything starts from Sept 11 and on.
20 years brainwashing people and giving them poor education to create ignorance is the result of La Concertación having an approval rate of 15%
Chile has, is and will always be a conservative nation. Like it or not.
The Baron is disgusting troll who vote up his own comments, smears Salvador Allende, Pinochets victims and glorify fascism.
Allende was twice the man he is. Indeed, the baron is a pathetic creture that spends 75% of his life defending a mass murderer and smearing a great man.
@BaronVonAlucard And yet Pinochet nationalized the copper mines anyway. Even though that was the ONLY reason the CIA supported the coup: to prevent Allende from nationalizing Anaconda Copper et al; he'd announced that foreigners had made enough on their extraction of copper from Chile and what remained belonged to Chile. The rest of your points don't make sense. Allende was elected to office, and Pinochet's coup ended 147 years of democracy in Chile.
@msy57 Pinochet didn't nationalize the copper mines. You mean Allende, and Allende did it with the full support from the Senate which in its majority was from the right and when Pinochet took over he kept the mines in the hands of Chile, so the CIA did everything for the copper mines and they still didnt get em. That dont make sense.
147 years of democracy in Chile? Do you not know about all the other coups and the civil war Chile had? I think you're fooling yourself.
@CerebralWTF And all that you mention is well known in Chile after the 20 years of brainwashing by the Leftist governments all I did was explain that everything happened for a reason. There were causes. People need to know the whole history and make their own judgment.
I am not sure about your video, facts are changed in every video i watch regarding this topic and yours is no different- one thing is for sure, for every video that comes out with sketchy facts the damage done to Chileans overseas is catastrophic. There seems to be no consensus as to the facts and this is a critical problem, i have decided instead to arm myself with as much knowledge as possible and try to reach my own conclusions.
1. American companies partnered with the US gov't in the 2nd half of the 20th century in a hegemony to control the Western Hemisphere by owning their infrastructure and valuable natural resources.
2. These American companies typically retained 80% of the profits, while only 20% remained in the host country, keeping them poor.
3. The USA Government used propaganda, military power and CIA assassins to ensure USA dominance.
4. Allende, and other leaders were voted in by a public desperate to end servitude to Washington and US Hedgemonic Corporations which were strangling their economies.
5. The assassination of democratically elected leaders is in direct opposition to the US's stated goal of "spreading Democracy".
6. And the obvious: these freely elected leaders had nowhere else to turn for assistance than Russia. Today, 80% of these countries collude with China, a "lesser threat" than to them than the US.
7. China now holds the majority of U.S. Foreign debt, and a huge trade imbalance with China ensures that our debt grows by the minute.
8. The USA is now almost surrounded by countries she has burned in the past, countries who now have ties to the USA's greatest debtor. This situation puts the USA at an extreme disadvantage financially, and militarily.
9. We have no one to blame but ourselves. Time to wake up, USA, and throw the evil men who have sold us to the corporations into the fire.
@CerebralWTF 6. By Russia you mean the Soviet Union (big difference to me) which only intentions where to have another colony in South America much like Cuba. Chile didn't want that and still doesn't.
7. China and Chile have a great relationship and it will ebenfit both. China is not trying to make Chile a colony or impose their hegemony. Business only
8. Chile has treaties all over the world and it doesn't depend solely on the USA
9. Bad corporations have to go and the good ones rewarded.
@CerebralWTF Points 1, 2 & 3 During the government of Frei-Montalva Chile made huge reforms in the mine and agricultural fields to fight off these American dominion. Chile has had an American hegemony since it was founded and the USA helped one of Chile founding fathers to fight the Spanish conquistadors
4. Allende had good intentions but he was led by others far more radical than him 36% of the votes to submit a 100% of Chile to his radical failed model
@hinks11b How can you refute facts? Everything I said its true, whether you agree with it or like its a different story. I gave a source for every point I made, it has been researched. And my comments together with the video gives anyone an unbiased perception so they can make their own judgment. Why show just one side of history, to me that creates ignorance, much like many people think Christopher Columbus discovered America, that's the product of only telling one version of history. Its wrong
@BaronVonAlucard Do not forget how the Store owners would hide the food and supplies from the People so even though they had money to spend they wouldn't be able to. They were the cowards I would say Mister Baron but you don't deserve any respect Hijo de Puta!
@MrReco12 Total Troll...obviously he wasn't affected by this...I remember being 4 years old and having my dad being taken away by the Military Police...Only thing I am thankful for is that he is still alive...the fascists never ruined a good man!
@spanishknight Q: Why did store owners hide the food and supplies? A: Because Allende froze the prices of the merchandise causing them to lose money.
One a different note; I doubt your dad was taken away for doing nothing, I had family members taken away but they at least have the decency to admit they were doing illegal stuff.
@BaronVonAlucard Sorry I didn't mean to mention my dad in the same sentence as you...it would be disgusting to do so...I have an idea Baron why don't you go to Any country and talk to the Chilean communities the way you talk here and see how long before someone beats the shit out of you! The good thing is that people like you are scared to speak like this in person for this very reason! You are hated world wide!
@gefilptezot Yep, PinoShit is a disgrace to Chilean History. Everywhere i go i hear Allende was great! Everywhere i go i hear PinoShit was a monster! Its quite clear that public opinion favours Salavador rather than that Fascist dictator PinoShit.
Curious Fact # 1 The air force did not use "bombs" to target La Moneda like many ignorants would imply, instead they used anti tank rockets which are less harmful, this is why no one in La Moneda was killed due to the air strikes
Curious Fact # 2 Chile only recognizes 1,800+ dead under Pinochet's regime, the rest "disappeared" many of which have been found living abroad under different names some other have returned to Chile.
There's a reason why this people feel the need to distort reality.
"Chile only recognizes 1,800+ dead under Pinochet's regime, the rest "disappeared" many of which have been found living abroad under different names some other have returned to Chile."
Chile recognizes 40 000 victims and 3000+ murdered. Lying again i see!
@BaronVonAlucard Nontheless they used a (rocket) propulsion system which delivered a payload (bomb).
Rocket bomb: an aerial bomb designed for release at low altitude and equipped with a rocket apparatus for giving it added momentum. So essentially they did rocket "bomb" La Moneda, the ignorants where right al along :P Those who distort reality are the ones who like to sugarcoat attrocities, injustices, inhumane acts etc. No need to distort reality when truth is in your favor.
1. Under the supervision of national security adviser Henry Kissinger the CIA will develop the so-called 'Track II' plan to oust Allende, allocating US$10 million
2. CIA attempts to bribe key Chilean legislators and funds a group of military officers plotting a coup, providing a further payment of US$35,000 following the assassination on 22 October of General Rene Schneider, the commander-in-chief of the army, who had refused to participate.
@BaronVonAlucard Response to 1: No one knew? Moot point considering he accepted the position to place a coup, regardless the inception of the plan he partipicated and remained in power autocratically
2: like the KBG The CIA was doing the same to oppositon leaders and military heads during Allende's short tenure.
3. Is Allende Fidel? No. Did he rise to power using violence? No.
4. The US kept on financing the Chilean Military while ignoring the government.
@BaronVonAlucard 1. Again. It is pointless for you excuse Pinochet because "he didnt know", he (participated) in the coup in the end anyways so i don't know what you are trying to justify.
2. I have never heard or seen any evidence which mentions Allende collaborating information to the soviets during the 50's therefore provide a source which mentions such thing.
3. Mention one instance when Allende used "violence" against the people OR do you mean violence against renegade militants..
@Bilderbergz 1. Its is not pointless because Pinochet gets blamed for the Coup yet he did not plan it he just happened to be the Commander in Chief and he chose the better for Chile
2. You need to look harder, Allender code name for the Soviets was "Leader"
3. Allende's people used violence. People were getting killed, kidnapped, robbed, even kids were killed. This was BEFORE the coup
4. The Kennedy Amendment stopped the flow of weapons to Chile in a time of war against Peru and Argentina
@BaronVonAlucard Sorry for not replying sooner but i came down with the flu so i was bedridden.
1. By your logic Pinochet should not be blamed for the coup because he did not plan it YET he did participate and remained in power for more than 17 years, thats a fallacy right there.
2. I need to look harder? I asked (you) to provide (me) with the source which is based on your allegations that pinochet collaborated information to the soviets during the 50's(still waiting).
@Bilderbergz 1. No, I just don't think Pinochet should get ALL the blame. The congress did ask the military for asking, so did the public opinion, so did the other generals.
2. Allende being a Soviet informant can be found on the Mitrokhin Archive
3. Theres a long list of crimes during Allendes perdiod, you want me to list them all? You can easily find em on Google. (List is too long)
@BaronVonAlucard 1. (You) dont think he should get all the blame? Then i guess is it is (your) opinion on that matter, all i know is that the name Pinochet is synonymous with the Coup.
2. Is there a site on which you can access these archive's? I cannot find any official website.
3. Cannot find anything significant or that even proves to be a credible source, so i would ask you again since you are adamant about Allende using violence against his people, so yes, list them all.
@Bilderbergz 1. Pinochet is synonymous with the coup? Chile's had about 6 coups. Its time people learn history.
2. The Mitrokhin Archive is a book, easy to find.
3. Here are a few names: Luis Bravo Morales killed 1973 while he was on strike in El Teniente mine. Jorge Mena killed in Osorno 1973. Juan Luis Urrutia killed 1973 while his ranch was taken over by Allendes people. Manuel González killed 1973 when his factory was taken over by Allendes people. These are just a few people. Look em up.
@BaronVonAlucard 1. Yes, Chile had 6 coups but Pinochet is known in the (modern) world as the (latest) dictator.
2. Maybe you should have mentioned that it was a (book) from the get-go, you made it look like it was an archive of declassified documents. Totally changes things.
3. I searched these names but i get nothing but vague and totally unrelated people, it would be faster if you directed me towards a source where you found this info.
@Bilderbergz 1. Pinochet is known as the person who did things right for Chile. Perhaps a modern founding father
2. The Mitrokhin Archive is a compilation of declassified KGB documents by Vasili Mitrokhin, Chief Director of the KGB
3. Ok I'll send a link so you can see the info. I hope it opens your eyes a little
4. Argentinian Generals said that if they won the war against England and the Falkland Islands Chile's Picton, Lenox & Nueva would be next. Chile did the right thing
@BaronVonAlucard 3. Like # 2 provide a source which mentions such act, i asked you to provide an example which in this case would usually require a date, names & location.
4. The Kennedy Amendment was expressly to negate weapons flow to country's which violated human rights, in this situation Chile under Pinochet.
5. If a junta did not decide to aqcuire power like a bunch of savages Allende would have not been presented with such scenario, and yes La moneda was "bombed" by rocket fire.
@Bilderbergz 4. The Kennedy Amendment negated weapons in a time of war, I thought you were from Chile, would've you liked Chile losing the north to Peru and the Islands in the south by Argentina under the excuse that "violated human rights" (of terrorists) Think about it. Letelier was betraying the country as a whole
5. The Junta did not decided the Congress decided. If Allende was gonan kill himself he shouldve done it earlier. He caused all that for nothing.
@BaronVonAlucard 4. The kennedy amendment had nothing to do with the war, the kennedy amendment was meant to stop the flow of weapons used to (violate human rights), in this situation human rights violations committed by Pinochet's Junta. Letelier was only advocating againts Pinochet so how is that conspiring? Conspiring is when you do something in secret, letelier was only advocating to US congress, in the open.
@Bilderbergz 4. The Kennedy Amendment had nothing to do with the war yet it was gonna be detrimental to Chiles territory in the almost war against Peru and Argentina. Letelier was conspiring again Pinochet but at the same time against Chile. Like I said as a Chilean you would be ashamed of losing a war against Peru or Argentina
5. Allende betrayed congress when he did not respect the Constitutional Guaranties that he signed to become president in return the congress betrayed back. Eye 4 an Eye
@BaronVonAlucard You said it "almost war" never happened. Also, Chile asked for it regarding Argentina, maybe if Pinochet was not such a backstabber towards our (neighbouring) country or just simply refuse to aid the English then the Argentinians would have not given Chile any issues. I would be ashamed yes but we never had war and never lost to anyone. This argument is all based on a "what if" scenario which is futile to discuss at lenght.
@BaronVonAlucard 5. Allende was sabotaged before he even became president, The CIA had a lot of people in congress working under their payroll, you can check the CIA website if you like. They declassified all the documents regarding project FUBELT.
6. I doubt that altamirano was making decisions, but he was a traitor in the process. Altamirano Pouted that his ideals where just like schneiders but that was obviously not true, he is no better than the people who participated in the coup.
@Bilderbergz 5. Chile and the USA relationship dates back to the early 1800s when Allende started siding with USA enemy of course that they were gonna sabotage him. After all it was for the better interest of Chile
6. Don't doubt Allende's weakness at all. His friends took his kindness for weakness and soon enough he was gonna be removed by them
7. The left has been exaggerating for 20 years in Chile to remain in power, it finally failed
@BaronVonAlucard 5. There would have been no need for Allende to shoot himself if congress had not betrayed the principles of a democracy, also the junta did work in conjuction with congress which delegitimizes the entire concept of a democratic congress...
6. Ill agree that altamirano was too radical for my taste, i think Allende made a mistake having him in his administration but Allende was not like altamirano at all.
@Bilderbergz 6. Allende was a weak person and it was people like Altamirano that were really deciding. Eventually Allende was gonna be removed by one of his own people. The Congress did ask the military to take action this can be found on the Chamber of Deputies' Resolution of August 22nd
7. I wanted to make clear that estimations vary on whom they come from. People exaggerate, especially the liberals in Chile.
8. You do feel sorry for the MIR and defend their "human rights" (Your point #4)
8. You are categorizing all the human rights violations perpetrated in Chile towards only MIR radicals. let me tell you that my Grandfather's human rights where violated as well as my aunts and they where not MIR fighters...
9. by 1973 the MIR was an useless resistance force, heck they should not be even called a resistance force. The MIR is a clear example of how not to organize a revolutionary cause. Most where only dumb kids....
@Bilderbergz 8. Sheltering terrorist is just as bad, lying to authorities at the time was just as bad, disobeying the Martial Law was a crime too. I had family members detained too but they admit that they did wrong
9. No dictator leaves when he is 'told to' there for Pinochet is not much a dictator. By 1973 the MIR and other terrorist groups had thousands of fire arms, I don't know where you get "useless resistance" from, Miguel Enriquez a dumb kid? No these people were young adults
@BaronVonAlucard 4. The kennedy amendment stopped the flow of weapons to Country's such as Chile where human rights violations where taking place. But it did not remove the weapons & other aid the US send to the Chilean military before the amendment was passed meaning Pinochet had countless weapons to kill & oppress with.
5. Maybe the Palace or its people would have not been endangered if a coup had not taken place in the first place...
@BaronVonAlucard 6. Altamirano was one of the leaders of the more radical left-wing, he thought that the only way to attain power was through force. Unlike Allende i would not believe wholeheartedly what Altamirano has to say considering he was a (radical) after all...
7. I have used google several times to find academic sources/information, it depends on how you search. Not my problem if you don't know how to use a simple search engine.
@Bilderbergz 6. Wow you agree!! So there you go, Allende was gonna be removed by someone who was willing to use force. An own-coup. Was Chile gonna wait for that first and THEN take action? No.
7. You realize that you want me to google estimations and not solid facts. As soon as anyone starts their sentence with "It's been estimated..." I automatically think they dont know the real story
@BaronVonAlucard 7. Ok wise guy then tell me the exact figure of how many people where detained, tortured & killed during Pinochets regime, i bet you wont be able to find two sources which mention the exact same figure. They are "estimates" meaning they will never know the exact figure, the logistics of it is too complicated. Even amnesty international could not "estimate" how many people where detained in El Estadio Nacional.
@BaronVonAlucard 8. The MIR was a ragtag group (after) the coup. The MIR’s leaders went underground. Many of them were rounded up in the early days of the coup, which fatally compromised many safehouses and arms caches. The MIR continued to wage war against Pinochet, but with its leadership dead or compromised there was little it could do against the powerful DINA. By the end of the 1970’s, the MIR was in tatters. My perception is just fine but your deductive logic is not.
@Bilderbergz 8. The MIR commited 127 acts of violence between 1965 and 1973 and got help from Ghaddafi, they kidnapped, murdered, robbed, hijacked airplanes, killed kids, burnt people, they are a international terrorist group that had in Chile over 15,000 members in the early 70's and that's why the DINA was created. These people were armed and dangerous and they need to be punished and they were, that's who Pinochet killed. Not many in Chile feel sorry for the MIR.
@BaronVonAlucard 8. I don't feel sorry for the MIR either, i could give two shits what happened to the MIR. The MIR did not represent Allende's ideals, they where radicals. This whole conversation stemmed as to why the DINA was created, you said because of the MIR yet the MIR was actually responsible for very little in the way of armed Marxist insurgency. They were quiet during the Allende years and their organization was gutted by Pinochet’s ruthless tactics between 1973 and 1976. Cont
@BaronVonAlucard 8. (Continued) So an organization of 15,000 members committted 127 acts of violence which took place over a span of 8 years, don't you think thats a bit low. May i ask where you obtained this onformation?
9. The 1980 plebiscite landed Pino8 in the government for 8 years, yes. But the 1988 plebiscite was too figure out if the people wanted pino8 to extend his rule (for another 8 years). Btw Allende was not a "communist" he was a "socialist".
@Bilderbergz 8. Naturally the MIR didnt start strong while in 1965 you can find a few isolated cases in 1973 you can find dozens of cases. The MIR was founded by a member of Allendes family. Allende freed many of the MIR members under the excuse that they were the "idealistic youth" Later on those same guys formed yet another terrorist group (VOP) and killed the Vice President. The MIR at the same time was killing cops, civilians, kids (Mario Avilés 17, Oscar Pineda 13 etc)
@BaronVonAlucard 9. The National Plebiscite of (1980) was a referendum to approve the 1980 Political Constitution of the Republic of Chile as a replacement for Chile's 1925 constitution. The (1988) Plebiscite was a national referendum which would determine if Pinochet would stay (another 8 years) 1988-1996 BUT the people said No.
10. Sure no one was killed but they tortured most of the people that ended up in dawson island. Cont
@Bilderbergz 9. The National Plebiscite of (1980) was a referendum to approve the 1980 Political Constitution of the Republic of Chile and to choose a President. Right there in 1980 it was established that election would be held in 1988. It's all written. By the way Pinochet kept his word, he held the elections and once he was defeated he left the Executive branch. As if that would ever happen in a 'communist' country. Be real.
3. Covertly the CIA continues to work to destabilise the UP government, providing up to US$7 million in funding to opposition groups in order to "create pressures, exploit weaknesses, magnify obstacles" and hasten Allende's downfall.
4. The CIA finances strikes by transport workers and shopkeepers, is implicated in the sabotage of public infrastructure, and infiltrates all of the parties in the UP. Almost one third of the staff at the US embassy(Santiago) on CIA payroll.
@Bilderbergz 5. La Moneda was warned multiple times that there would be air strikes if they didn't surrender. They were heavily armed and Allende even had Cuban agents in La Moneda.
6. That state of siege was declared since terrorist groups were armed with those same weapons Allende helped bring from Cuba. A civil war was prevented.
7. "it is reported" by whom? the liberal media? ya ok.
8. DINA was created to fight the MIR and the other terroist groups such as MAPU, JRME, MOC etc etc
@BaronVonAlucard 5: How would you welcome the man that come to overthorw you undemocratically? Lemonade & cookies?
6: You say a civil war was prevented yet a civil war never took place nor was it even in the heads of chileans considering dictators rule by oppression and repression... The whole Chilean civil war is a myth created by the military propagandist which you believe whole heartedly...
7: No.. by the General media(all sources). Go to google, type "agusto pinochet"
@MrReco12 my family lived through out september 11, my grandfather was kidnapped, detained and tortured. My aunt dissapeared (taken by the DINA) and tortured mercilessly until finally the vicary of solidarity managed to secure her freedom. Half my family was detained eventhough none of them had political affiliation to communist party's. Perhaps it is because we are related to Allende through my grandfather & we shared the last name.
@Bilderbergz Something like this could have happened to Australia in the 1930s, when rightwing member of the parliament asked him to overthrow the labour government his reply was:
“What do you and your friends want me to do? To lead a movement to upset the Constitution, oust the jurisdiction of Parliament, and usurp the governmental power? If so, I have no ambition to embark on High Treason, which any such action would amount to."
I shudder thinking what would have happend if he the lo..
@MrReco12 You are implying he is from france? Surprising considering we have an individual here that does not have a shred of connection to Chile nor does he have any relatives that live in Chile yet he thinks he knows best of this whole matter. Atleast in my case i have "first" hand knowledge from countless family members who lived through out Pinochet's rule from start to finish.
@MrReco12 Yep a big stab in the back, something that would have not happened if they didn't murder General Rene Schneider for refusing to participate in the coup. Schneider was truly an impecable man, he even said once that the only purpose for the military is to defend the nation not to meddle in its internal affairs. knowing that they could not turn him to the dark side they killed him like bunch of cowards....
@Bilderbergz 6. The civil war was not a myth Altamirano warned of a civil war and Miguel Enriquez did too. Why else would they arm themselves like they did.
7. "It's been reported" Source? Google? Yeah ok.
8. The DINA was exclusively to stop the MIR. Kidnap, torture and murder terrorist mainly, and Contreras is serving jail time mainly for the assassination of Prats
9. in 1980 Pinochet announced elections in 8 years he wasn't forced to do anything. He did it willingly. Terrorist feared him
@BaronVonAlucard 6. You are basing your hypothesis that there was going to be a civil war in chile based on the subjective opinion of two man, ok... To this day i have never heard a single Chilean from left/right that said a civil war was imminent after the coup.
7. Do you know what a "search engine" is? Do you know that google is not a "source" but a "search engine" which aids in the search for "information".
@BaronVonAlucard 8. Again, The DINA was to oppress like any other secret police also instill fear in the people by intimidating, kidnapping, torturing and murdering. The MIR was a ragtag group of people who operated in cells, most of the members either went in exile and some remained behind later to be killed, the MIR that you believe where such a threat where actually not. Attacks by the MIR where random and unfrequent so enough with the MIR. (Continued)
Prats is just the icing on the cake, Contreras is also facing more charges regarding "operacion condor" which Chile spearheaded with Contreras at the helm.
9. The 1988 Chilean national plebiscite was a (national referendum) held to determine whether or not dictator Augusto Pinochet would remain in power for another 8 years. The answer was NO, he was forced to gtfo, he did not do it willingly.
5. On 11 September the military strike, taking Santiago in a violent offensive that sees Pinochet order air strikes on the Palacio de La Moneda (the presidential palace and seat of government).
6. A state of siege is declared, martial law is introduced and parliament is closed. The media is censored, universities are purged, books are burned, Marxist political parties are outlawed and union activities are banned. Thousands are murdered or "disappeared".
7. It is reported that up to 250,000 people are detained in the first months following the coup. Stadiums, military bases and naval vessels have to be used as short-term prisons. At least five new prison camps are established for political prisoners
8. The newly formed secret police (National Intelligence Directorate - DINA) create a reign of terror at home and organise the assassinations of opponents in exile abroad.
9. Pinochet takes complete control of Chile on 11 December when he is named "president" lol. Over the next 15 years he will rule the country as an iron-fisted autocrat in the mode of his admired role-model, the Spanish dictator Francisco Franco(figures)
10. Orlando Letelier, a former ambassador to the US and defence minister under Allende, is assassinated in Washington by Cuban exiles operating on the orders of Pinochet's secret police.
@Bilderbergz 9. Pinochet clearly said that politicians were to blame for the mess in Chile and he wasnt gonna give a coup to give it back to them to screw it all up again. He was elected president in 1980 calling for elections in 8 years. Once he lost he gave his power up with no problem
10. Letelier was conspiring against Chile when Chile was in a time of war. USA even punished Chile cuz of Letelier with the Kennedy Amendment
11. Read # 9
12. Pinochet is responsible for cleaning the country
@BaronVonAlucard 8: The DINA was created to kidnap, torture and murder pal. This is evident by the hefty Prison sentence Manuel Contrera the head of the Dina is currently serving, 239 years....
9: You are clearly justifying an undemocratic ascension to power which involves force & coersion. He was elected "dictator" not president because people feared him, fear is a great tool to rule the masses. Btw a plebiscite(national referendum) forced pinochet to (gtfo) not because he felt like it.
@BaronVonAlucard 10: You probably mean conspiring in the sense that Letelier was lobbying to congress in Washington and European governments from awarding funds to a military dictatorship(which he was successful at). Other than that no justification for his death except for your vague implication that he was conspiring.
12. Pinochet is responsible for the privitazion of Chile which has created the largest income inequality & class gap among nations, not to mention he is a filthy murderer.
@Bilderbergz 10. Letelier wasn't damaging just Pinochet's regime, he was gonna damage the country as a whole. In a time of war in which Peru and Argentina had land pretentions. Pardoning his life wasn't enough he had to conspire against his own country to lose in a war
11. Pinochet is responsible for all the advances in Chile, declared now the country with the best standard on living in Latin America. With low unemployment and low poverty. The inequality and all that is just a silly cliché
@BaronVonAlucard 10. Letelier was the most respected and effective spokesman in the international campaign to condemn and isolate Pinochet's dictatorship. Thats why he was killed because he speaked out against a dictator who would have killed him in the concentration camp in which he was held at (tierra del fuego) before he was exiled to the US.
11. Pinochet is responsible for most of the privatization in Chile which is a fact. Do you have the Channel (TV Chile)? Continued.
@Bilderbergz 10. Letelier was in the Dawson Island where no one was killed. Why exaggerate? And while in exile Letelier conspired against Chile in a time of war. He was wrong
11. Privatization is the best thing thats happened to Chile. Exports have increased remarkably, unemployment is at its lowest in nearly two decades and poverty is shrinking
The students in Chile are labeled "The Useful Idiots" since they are being manipulated by the communist party and their college leaders from the PS
@BaronVonAlucard If it was not for international diplomatic pressure from the governor of Caracas Diego Arria, and United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, letelier would have been killed in Chile without a doubt. In the end he was killed regardless by a car bomb which also killed Leteliers assisant Ronni Moffit in Washington DC in the Sheriddan circle. The accused and responsible for the terrorist attack on (international soil) was Michael Townley, a DINA US expatriate.
@Bilderbergz 9. No one was killed in Dawson Island, tortured? being imprisoned cant be a torture, being taken away from your family can a torture. These were all political figures in Dawson island so they were more careful with them. Letelier would have been killed in CHile? Weird cuz they didnt kill Corvalan and to the military Corvalan was far more important (they let him exile to the USSR)
Letelier died for conspiring against Chile in a time of war, big mistake.
@BaronVonAlucard The didn't kill Corvalan because the Soviet Union launched an international campaign for his release and on December 18, 1976 Corvalán was exchanged for a soviet political prisoner. Victor hara was more valuable than corvalan as a political prisoner and look what they did to him.... Like Letelier, Corvalan was lucky that the soviets managed to secure his release. Letelier was not conpiring he was advocating againts a dictators regime to the international community.
@Bilderbergz 9. When Pinochet lost the plebiscite he did what he was supposed to do. Shouldnt he be applauded for that? While other dictators in South America destroyed their countries Pinochet built a great one and then democratically passed it on.
PS: The was NOTHING the USSR could've done to Chile, let me make that clear. Also Luis Corvalán is/was a million times more important than V.Jara. and he got killed for obvious reasons. Letelier was trying to destroy Chile to remove Pinochet.
@BaronVonAlucard Ill give Pinochet credit for leaving when he was told to, not many dictators do that. But it does not change what he did for the last 17 years. Also, i doubt that Coravalan was more valuable than Hara, Hara was a famous public figure, his music was inspirational towards the cause of Allende. Hara's words where feared because they where detrimental towards pinochets oppressive regime. Artists are more dangerous than political figures, images & songs last forever.
@Bilderbergz I cannot stress enough how important Luis Corvalán was, far more important than a mere folk singer. I can assure you that the military junta was not threaten by Jara and gave him no special treatment unlike political detainees
Letelier was trying to boycott Chile to get Pinochet out. I was exiled I would try to destroy my whole country to remove a group of people. Letelier shouldve gone to the USSR yet he fled to a capitalist country like most Chileans who fled out of convenience
@BaronVonAlucard Regarding Letelier, he was not trying to destroy Chile he was trying to deligitimize Pinochets regime. Im sure if you where exiled for the way you think then obviously you would voice out your opinion towards a man who kicked you out your home, its a no brainer. I would do it and im sure you would too. As for privatizaion being good to chile, im not an economist so i will not pretend i know all about this topic, but like you said it does need some tweaks.
@BaronVonAlucard 11. Privatization is the best thing that happened to Chile? Either you are a "cuico" that has never had to work a single day in his life for anyone in order to earn a meager 200 mil pesos or you have never had had to worry about such things if you come from a well of family because that is the only explenation. You say unemployment is at its lowest but why is it that every friggin Chilean bitches about the economy. Cont
@Bilderbergz 11. Privatization is the best thing that happened to Chile. Yes. Before student had between two Universities to choose from and many wouldnt make it cuz of their high point system. With private schools more people in CHile could go to college. Private anything is better in Chile. Private schools are better, private hospitals are better, private transportation is better. Oh I work.
Unemployment is at a 7% the lowest its been probably since Aylwin. They bitch cuz they can thats all.

Allende received more than a 100 million plus all the fire arms from Cuba. The USSR never did anything for Chile and their puppet Allende was removed rightfully, he did the country a favour by taking his own life.
BaronVonAlucard 1 month ago

ComradeAH1994 2 months ago

ComradeAH1994 2 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard
And I suppose Pinochet was a good leader?...
ComradeAH1994 2 months ago
@ComradeAH1994 Was Pinochet a good leader? He's what Chile got as a consequence of all the things Allende did and tried to do. Allende wasnt a dictator but by violating the constitution he was slowly becoming one. The USSR wanted Allende to use violence a mean to control the Chilean people this is why they were sending so many weapons. It wouldnt be the first time a Marxist would stay in power for a very long period of time
Allende took companies from the Chileans themselves too
BaronVonAlucard 2 months ago
Viva Allende. 1 of my heroes. Proof that democracy means nothing to the US and the ruling classes/corporations. The very transnational corporations he warned against in 1972 to the UN are still the 1s dictating the flow of the world, and most US foreign policy. Whether an economic democrat(aka socialist) gains power through a popular election(Ortega, Allende, Chavez) or a coup(Castro) the CEOs and US government will still try to undermine them.
dannyzee4 2 months ago
@dannyzee4 If bringing arms from Cuba was OK then why did they have to hide it? Why did they have to tell the country that those packages had "art pieces" in them? I suggest you read about the scandal first then comment. Bringing arms from Cuba to Chile to arm urban Marxist guerrillas was (and still is) illegal. Chilean farm owners and land owners received no compensation and these very same Chileans were being killed in the usurpation of their properties and land.

The lack of compensation to foreign land and copper companies was because they had excess profits
dannyzee4 2 months ago
@dannyzee4 Allende was a KGB informant since the 50s and without the money from the Soviets Allende would've never won. Please tell me how much money did Alessandri's campaign received from the CIA.

CerebralWTF 3 months ago
CerebralWTF 3 months ago
CerebralWTF 3 months ago
@CerebralWTF 6. By Russia you mean the Soviet Union (big difference to me) which only intentions where to have another colony in South America much like Cuba. Chile didn't want that and still doesn't.
7. China and Chile have a great relationship and it will ebenfit both. China is not trying to make Chile a colony or impose their hegemony. Business only
8. Chile has treaties all over the world and it doesn't depend solely on the USA
9. Bad corporations have to go and the good ones rewarded.
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@CerebralWTF Points 1, 2 & 3 During the government of Frei-Montalva Chile made huge reforms in the mine and agricultural fields to fight off these American dominion. Chile has had an American hegemony since it was founded and the USA helped one of Chile founding fathers to fight the Spanish conquistadors
4. Allende had good intentions but he was led by others far more radical than him 36% of the votes to submit a 100% of Chile to his radical failed model
5. Assassinations of traitors

@BaronVonAlucard You should deffinitely research this more, from an unbias stand point. I can basically refute point you have made.
hinks11b 3 months ago
@hinks11b How can you refute facts? Everything I said its true, whether you agree with it or like its a different story. I gave a source for every point I made, it has been researched. And my comments together with the video gives anyone an unbiased perception so they can make their own judgment. Why show just one side of history, to me that creates ignorance, much like many people think Christopher Columbus discovered America, that's the product of only telling one version of history. Its wrong

Chile recognizes 40 000 victims and 3000+ murdered. Lying again i see!
MrReco12 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard Nontheless they used a (rocket) propulsion system which delivered a payload (bomb).
Rocket bomb: an aerial bomb designed for release at low altitude and equipped with a rocket apparatus for giving it added momentum. So essentially they did rocket "bomb" La Moneda, the ignorants where right al along :P Those who distort reality are the ones who like to sugarcoat attrocities, injustices, inhumane acts etc. No need to distort reality when truth is in your favor.

@BaronVonAlucard another thing this video doesn't tell you is how much of an asshole you are. so i will. you're an asshole baron.
MisterBouncyBounce 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard Two can i play at this game.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 1. no one in the military knew if Pinochet was gonna be part of the coup until Sunday September 9th. 2 days before the coup
2. The KGB had been giving money to Allende for "valuable information" since the 60s Allende ONLY dealt with the KGB and never with the ambassador
3. Fidel Castro and the Soviets announced that a marxist revolution could not be possible in Chile without the use of violence
4. The USSR and Cuba illegally send thousands of fire arms to Chile
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard Response to 1: No one knew? Moot point considering he accepted the position to place a coup, regardless the inception of the plan he partipicated and remained in power autocratically
2: like the KBG The CIA was doing the same to oppositon leaders and military heads during Allende's short tenure.
3. Is Allende Fidel? No. Did he rise to power using violence? No.
4. The US kept on financing the Chilean Military while ignoring the government.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 1. No one knew. Correct. This detail is clearly pointed out in P.Verdugos book "Los Zarpazos Del Puma"
2. Correction; Allende was being paid for information by the Soviets since the 50s. He was a traitor first.
3. Allende was pressured to use violence this is why he was bringing arms to Chile illegally
4. The Kennedy Amendment blocked the military help to Chile in a time of war
5. Allende had planned to kill himself he didnt have to endanger the palace or the people around him
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 1. Again. It is pointless for you excuse Pinochet because "he didnt know", he (participated) in the coup in the end anyways so i don't know what you are trying to justify.
2. I have never heard or seen any evidence which mentions Allende collaborating information to the soviets during the 50's therefore provide a source which mentions such thing.
3. Mention one instance when Allende used "violence" against the people OR do you mean violence against renegade militants..
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 1.
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard Sorry for not replying sooner but i came down with the flu so i was bedridden.
1. By your logic Pinochet should not be blamed for the coup because he did not plan it YET he did participate and remained in power for more than 17 years, thats a fallacy right there.
2. I need to look harder? I asked (you) to provide (me) with the source which is based on your allegations that pinochet collaborated information to the soviets during the 50's(still waiting).
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 1.
(List is too long)
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 1.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 1.
Look em up.
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 1.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 1.
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 3. Like # 2 provide a source which mentions such act, i asked you to provide an example which in this case would usually require a date, names & location.
4. The Kennedy Amendment was expressly to negate weapons flow to country's which violated human rights, in this situation Chile under Pinochet.
5. If a junta did not decide to aqcuire power like a bunch of savages Allende would have not been presented with such scenario, and yes La moneda was "bombed" by rocket fire.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 4. The Kennedy Amendment negated weapons in a time of war, I thought you were from Chile, would've you liked Chile losing the north to Peru and the Islands in the south by Argentina under the excuse that "violated human rights" (of terrorists) Think about it. Letelier was betraying the country as a whole
5. The Junta did not decided the Congress decided. If Allende was gonan kill himself he shouldve done it earlier. He caused all that for nothing.
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 4. The kennedy amendment had nothing to do with the war, the kennedy amendment was meant to stop the flow of weapons used to (violate human rights), in this situation human rights violations committed by Pinochet's Junta. Letelier was only advocating againts Pinochet so how is that conspiring? Conspiring is when you do something in secret, letelier was only advocating to US congress, in the open.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 4.
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard You said it "almost war" never happened. Also, Chile asked for it regarding Argentina, maybe if Pinochet was not such a backstabber towards our (neighbouring) country or just simply refuse to aid the English then the Argentinians would have not given Chile any issues. I would be ashamed yes but we never had war and never lost to anyone. This argument is all based on a "what if" scenario which is futile to discuss at lenght.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 5. Allende was sabotaged before he even became president, The CIA had a lot of people in congress working under their payroll, you can check the CIA website if you like. They declassified all the documents regarding project FUBELT.
6. I doubt that altamirano was making decisions, but he was a traitor in the process. Altamirano Pouted that his ideals where just like schneiders but that was obviously not true, he is no better than the people who participated in the coup.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 5. Chile and the USA relationship dates back to the early 1800s when Allende started siding with USA enemy of course that they were gonna sabotage him. After all it was for the better interest of Chile
6. Don't doubt Allende's weakness at all. His friends took his kindness for weakness and soon enough he was gonna be removed by them
7. The left has been exaggerating for 20 years in Chile to remain in power, it finally failed
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 5. There would have been no need for Allende to shoot himself if congress had not betrayed the principles of a democracy, also the junta did work in conjuction with congress which delegitimizes the entire concept of a democratic congress...
6. Ill agree that altamirano was too radical for my taste, i think Allende made a mistake having him in his administration but Allende was not like altamirano at all.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 6. Allende was a weak person and it was people like Altamirano that were really deciding. Eventually Allende was gonna be removed by one of his own people. The Congress did ask the military to take action this can be found on the Chamber of Deputies' Resolution of August 22nd
7. I wanted to make clear that estimations vary on whom they come from. People exaggerate, especially the liberals in Chile.
8. You do feel sorry for the MIR and defend their "human rights" (Your point #4)
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 7. Sure, (both) sides exaggerate.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 8. Sheltering terrorist is just as bad, lying to authorities at the time was just as bad, disobeying the Martial Law was a crime too. I had family members detained too but they admit that they did wrong
9. No dictator leaves when he is 'told to' there for Pinochet is not much a dictator. By 1973 the MIR and other terrorist groups had thousands of fire arms, I don't know where you get "useless resistance" from, Miguel Enriquez a dumb kid? No these people were young adults
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 4.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 5. If Allende was commit suicide he should've done it before the "bombing" took place
6. If the vice president of Chile was warning us of a civil war I don't know what else you want
7. You want me to Google an guesstimation [sic] that's silly
8. MIR a ragtag group? With over 15,000 members in Chile and more throughout South America? Your perception is deeply flawed. Armed with fire weapons
9. The 1988 plebiscite was determined in 1980 Pinochet kept his word and left when he lost
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 6. Altamirano was one of the leaders of the more radical left-wing, he thought that the only way to attain power was through force. Unlike Allende i would not believe wholeheartedly what Altamirano has to say considering he was a (radical) after all...
7. I have used google several times to find academic sources/information, it depends on how you search. Not my problem if you don't know how to use a simple search engine.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 6.
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 7.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 8. The MIR was a ragtag group (after) the coup. The MIR’s leaders went underground. Many of them were rounded up in the early days of the coup, which fatally compromised many safehouses and arms caches. The MIR continued to wage war against Pinochet, but with its leadership dead or compromised there was little it could do against the powerful DINA. By the end of the 1970’s, the MIR was in tatters. My perception is just fine but your deductive logic is not.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 8.
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 8. I don't feel sorry for the MIR either, i could give two shits what happened to the MIR. The MIR did not represent Allende's ideals, they where radicals. This whole conversation stemmed as to why the DINA was created, you said because of the MIR yet the MIR was actually responsible for very little in the way of armed Marxist insurgency. They were quiet during the Allende years and their organization was gutted by Pinochet’s ruthless tactics between 1973 and 1976. Cont
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 8.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 8.
Allende= MIRs friend
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 9. The National Plebiscite of (1980) was a referendum to approve the 1980 Political Constitution of the Republic of Chile as a replacement for Chile's 1925 constitution. The (1988) Plebiscite was a national referendum which would determine if Pinochet would stay (another 8 years) 1988-1996 BUT the people said No.
10. Sure no one was killed but they tortured most of the people that ended up in dawson island. Cont
Bilderbergz 3 months ago

Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 5.

My aunt dissapeared (taken by the DINA) and tortured mercilessly until finally the vicary of solidarity managed to secure her freedom.

@MrReco12 Yep a big stab in the back, something that would have not happened if they didn't murder General Rene Schneider for refusing to participate in the coup.

(Continued)

@BaronVonAlucard Contreras is serving jail time for:
-Murder
-Kidnapping
-Illegal use of Torture

Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 9. Pinochet clearly said that politicians were to blame for the mess in Chile and he wasnt gonna give a coup to give it back to them to screw it all up again. He was elected president in 1980 calling for elections in 8 years. Once he lost he gave his power up with no problem
10. Letelier was conspiring against Chile when Chile was in a time of war. USA even punished Chile cuz of Letelier with the Kennedy Amendment
11. Read # 9
12. Pinochet is responsible for cleaning the country
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 8: The DINA was created to kidnap, torture and murder pal. This is evident by the hefty Prison sentence Manuel Contrera the head of the Dina is currently serving, 239 years....
9: You are clearly justifying an undemocratic ascension to power which involves force & coersion. He was elected "dictator" not president because people feared him, fear is a great tool to rule the masses. Btw a plebiscite(national referendum) forced pinochet to (gtfo) not because he felt like it.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 10: You probably mean conspiring in the sense that Letelier was lobbying to congress in Washington and European governments from awarding funds to a military dictatorship(which he was successful at). Other than that no justification for his death except for your vague implication that he was conspiring.
12. Pinochet is responsible for the privitazion of Chile which has created the largest income inequality & class gap among nations, not to mention he is a filthy murderer.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 10. Letelier wasn't damaging just Pinochet's regime, he was gonna damage the country as a whole. In a time of war in which Peru and Argentina had land pretentions. Pardoning his life wasn't enough he had to conspire against his own country to lose in a war
11. Pinochet is responsible for all the advances in Chile, declared now the country with the best standard on living in Latin America. With low unemployment and low poverty. The inequality and all that is just a silly cliché
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 10. Letelier was the most respected and effective spokesman in the international campaign to condemn and isolate Pinochet's dictatorship. Thats why he was killed because he speaked out against a dictator who would have killed him in the concentration camp in which he was held at (tierra del fuego) before he was exiled to the US.
11. Pinochet is responsible for most of the privatization in Chile which is a fact. Do you have the Channel (TV Chile)? Continued.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 10.
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago

BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago

BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard Ill give Pinochet credit for leaving when he was told to, not many dictators do that. But it does not change what he did for the last 17 years. Also, i doubt that Coravalan was more valuable than Hara, Hara was a famous public figure, his music was inspirational towards the cause of Allende. Hara's words where feared because they where detrimental towards pinochets oppressive regime. Artists are more dangerous than political figures, images & songs last forever.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz I cannot stress enough how important Luis Corvalán was, far more important than a mere folk singer. I can assure you that the military junta was not threaten by Jara and gave him no special treatment unlike political detainees
Letelier was trying to boycott Chile to get Pinochet out. I was exiled I would try to destroy my whole country to remove a group of people. Letelier shouldve gone to the USSR yet he fled to a capitalist country like most Chileans who fled out of convenience
BaronVonAlucard 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard Regarding Letelier, he was not trying to destroy Chile he was trying to deligitimize Pinochets regime. Im sure if you where exiled for the way you think then obviously you would voice out your opinion towards a man who kicked you out your home, its a no brainer. I would do it and im sure you would too. As for privatizaion being good to chile, im not an economist so i will not pretend i know all about this topic, but like you said it does need some tweaks.
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@BaronVonAlucard 11. Privatization is the best thing that happened to Chile? Either you are a "cuico" that has never had to work a single day in his life for anyone in order to earn a meager 200 mil pesos or you have never had had to worry about such things if you come from a well of family because that is the only explenation. You say unemployment is at its lowest but why is it that every friggin Chilean bitches about the economy. Cont
Bilderbergz 3 months ago
@Bilderbergz 11. Privatization is the best thing that happened to Chile. Yes. Before student had between two Universities to choose from and many wouldnt make it cuz of their high point system. With private schools more people in CHile could go to college. Private anything is better in Chile. Private schools are better, private hospitals are better, private transportation is better. Oh I work.
Unemployment is at a 7% the lowest its been probably since Aylwin. They bitch cuz they can thats all.
