the odds of universe creating itself is 10 to power 123 . there is NO example in nature to give an example of this number. every ATOM in the universe total is 10to 78.

that's a bad question..it's too vague..is science the answer to what?..is it the answer to knowing how nature functions?..of course it is. is it the key to happiness?..well, that's sure as hell debatable.

and god is supernatural..science can ONLY apply to the physical world, because the physical world is all we KNOW exists..invoking god in science, is inherently non-scientific.

If the belief in religion is meant to cause genocide like many say... Then wouldn't evolution have "Skipped" that if you will? I mean, the whole point is to adapt. So why would humans acquire something that would hold them back? You also must realize that religion is not science as well, It's faith. So why would the human mind adapt and "create" the ability to believe in a god if following a secular view is more productive for growth?

To believe in everything did have an evolutionary advantage, but we are now evolving away from that.

Science is all about proofs, and aslong as you cannot provide proof that something as complex as god can just popp into existence then science is against you, Islam sucks.

You say Science is all about proofs and I totally agree but to say Islam sucks when you basically know nothing about it is not logical...There is no harm in trying to understand a religion and researching about it but to insult it is unfair my friend..PEACE

@kandousha No Darwin says nothing about the first living organism, he explains how life evolves,.

However we do have evidence that life can come out of chemical reactions.

Just look into Millers Experiment, we actually created life in the lab.

ive done alot of research and im still working on it.

The best way to become an atheist is to read the Quran, so just read it mate ;P

@JollSSteR Why would reading the quran make u an atheist? and yes Darwin did say all living things evolved from one ancestor that is scientifically refuted by the discovery of fossils.. How could natural selection explain complex organs, such as eyes, ears or wings? How can it be advocated that these organs evolved gradually, bearing in mind that they would fail to function if they had even a single part missing?

Remember, the fossil record is cool but the theory of evolution makes a 100% solid case without them..

They are a bonus.

( researching about the Quran gives you insight of how trivial and ignorant people were at the time, the funny thing about time is that we learn more as it goes by )

He then talks about spontaneous generation which is later refuted by Louis Pasteur...Darwin based all his theories on a few birds he saw in the Galapagos Islands...There is no DNA proof linking apes to humans...in fact pigs are closer to us

@kandousha Pigs are closely related yes, but according to DNA and the fossil record we are more closely related to monkeys.

its awesome that we have the internet where you can actually do these sort of researches by yourself, DNA is basically the script to how the cells should build up a body, which animal do you think assembles human more?

@kandousha ive heard alot of the Qurans scientific facts, however just like shapes in the clowds you need someone to point out that they are there, you could do the same thing with ANY book, try it out, take up any book and youll find scientific miracles i promise you..

There are alot of miracles in a cook book i have ^^

but i would have to point them out to you just like you have to point out the verses in Quran.

How can these people will believe the Quran even wen Allah (aw) has shown so much physical existance of creations (universe n in between) and still they deny the existence of Creator. They try to prove everythin came out of 'nothingness'. When Shabir put forth Quran & the Creations still that guy denies & try to fill the gap with some sort of unproven philosophies/heories. I beliv he is doing monkey business with evltion THEORY but creations dont come that cheap in the eyes of the Creator!

Actually, it is difficult. Why do you allow your creator to have a nature that doesn't require explanation, but deny that this is possible for reality itself to just exist? It doesn't make sense. If you demand a cause for observed reality you should also demand a cause for the creator - otherwise your argument is self-defeating.

Well, we know that our universe had a beginning, and by extension so must we. The properties of time, space and matter are simultaneous expressions of the universe itself. we can conclude that the universe must have a Creator because it could not create itself out of nothing, because nothing would have to be something and it would have had to exist before it came in to existence, which is illogical

If you can appreciate that time was created, as well as matter and space then then Creator cannot be subject to these limitations. We are clearly hardwired to determine causes and effects, and that is what you are trying to do with the Creator, but as highlighted above cause and effects are expressions of a space time continuum. I think Dr. Atkins appears confused and unable to logically disect Sharbir's arguments because he has no logical reason to. The reason he persists, I think, in contineing to talk clearly for the sake of it is mostly down to pride.

His position is to show how science is sufficient to explain observabal phenomena and that by understanding the phenomena we do not need to implicate the existence of God.

However, Shabir intelligently points of out that that is exactly what scientific methodology
