Hello, can you please help me install Windows Xp, without destroying the Fedora Core 10 partition. I only have one HD, i need to preserve my Fedora Core and partition my drive for NTFS, i cant seem to do this!
You have one HDD but how many partitions do you have?
It's really difficult to install windows when you already have Linux as it'll write the MBR therefore making the existing Linux install inaccessible. Unlike most Linux OSs windows doesn't ask about writing MBR, as far as i know.
how do i do this with custom settings?

Please calrify what you meant.
USB pen drive?
On the laptop (in video), it didn't recognize my Mass Storage cell phone (same as pen drives).

if i have Windows installed in my Pc will Fedora erase them?
evermanito 2 years ago
No. The same case is depicted in the video.
But make sure you follow the steps otherwise it's so easy to destroy data/OS on a working PC .

is fedora user friendly?
PowerMacUser 2 years ago
No quite for casual users, otherwise fine.
Try Ubuntu, one of the most user-fiendly Linux OS.

what kind of linux is this for then?

If you meant, what this video is for, It's for Fedora.
If you meant what Fedora is for, it's similar to RedHat and like RedHat it's used a lot on servers.
What makes it a bit unattractive to general users is the fact that it doesn't bundle proprietary software.
Hope I got what you meant.

yeah, the text is indeed unreadable many a times.
I had used translucent black background for them but still text sometimes is quite unreadable.
I'll make sure this doesn't happen from the next time.
