I'm very liberal on most things such as drugs and free health insurance. But I will ALWAYS be a strong believer in the death penalty. I'll never understand why they let guys like this live!!! It's a waste of tax payer's money and these psychopaths can't be reformed or cured. I see learning what they can from him but after they know what warning signs were missed and what environmental factors contributed to his behavior, why let him live?

Not just holding for a few hours, I mean locked up for several months. I can say there are some good people in jail. I can also say with out a doubt that there are some real monsters. The death penalty is A solution to this, but prison takes them also out of society. Yes, they have no remorse, yes, they live and their victims didn't. But to me death penalty is just not ethical. This is a loaded debate and there are many different views on this. So I understand your point of view and I respect it!

Now I live in Belgium and we don't have a death penalty so I'm not really sure about it.. I presume you live in the States so if you actually were to look it up, please let me know! @MsCalypsoO You're right about the death penalty costing more. The death penalty is actually a long process in our country of appeals that can drag out for as long as a decade. In the spirit of debate, I'll admit that a good amount of men have been exonerated from death row thanks to the help of DNA, which has come leaps and bounds since around 2000. Even men who confessed to the crime under extreme police interrogation. The same can be said for those serving life sentences.

@MsCalypsoO So to be honest, if those men had been put to death and not given appeals or life in prison, they would have died for nothing. I can't help but admit that. I guess my speedy and uninterrupted death penalty is really only reserved for those that murder and rape without remorse and are guilty without question. A good example would be our infamous serial killer John Wayne Gacey. 29 bodies were found in his crawl space. All young boys and men, raped. tortured, and strangled.

A magazine received some years ago, some pictures made by a Correctional Officer. He has lots of books, he has TV, Portable PC, Internet and a cellphone. Actually, he tried to escape some years ago, and he did. Magically, he got the keys of his handcuffs and he only escaped for a couple hours...
